The best restaurants in Sedgefield County Durham North East

I had the best sandwich I’ve ever had at Mes in Sedgefield ( Prosciutto, Brie & Rocket with a Balsamic drizzle on a warm Ciabatta ) The ingredients were so fresh, and the flavours were just perfect. The staff were incredibly polite and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Great atmosphere and excellent service—I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Lovely pies and bakes on show, so tempting and clearly made by someone who knows how to get traditional home baking looking just right. Enjoyed a tasty lunch and a cornflake tart to take home. Will be back to sample more of the menu

Amazing Cakes, Pies, Coffees and breads. Top quality Food. Highly recommended. Friendly Staff too. They sell lovely cheeses and Honey etc too.

Called on way back from Durham Uni visit. Food was great and high value we polished off the plates. Otherwise normal village pub setting and clientel

Really disappointed to have been charged almost double the price for using a table ( we sat outside). We visit Number Four regularly but usually get items to takeaway, however on this occasion we decided to sit outside as the sun was shining and all of the tables were free. When paying I was shocked to be charged £20 for 2 coffees, a pasty and a small steak pie. I asked if there had been a mistake but was informed that each item is priced higher as we were using a table. I understand a small surcharge but to be charged pretty much double is disgraceful. The coffee was poor and the pastry on both the pie and the pasty was soggy. We’ll be going elsewhere in the village in future.

What an absolutely lovely friendly cafe. We couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome. Lovely people, great service & delicious lunch. We will 100% be back!

A lovely family run restaurant with a good vibe and superb food. Definitely worth a visit when you are in the area.

I was at a wedding venue as a friend of mine was getting married. The staff were brilliant and polite, the venue was clean. You are next door to Hardwick Park which is stunning with lovely walks around the park.

Ordered mussels cream , received large bowl of mainly empty shells . Only about 8/9 had anything in , look more like cockles then mussels. Informed staff who said will inform chief

Wow. Just wow. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a nice hello by a member of staff. We were seated and there was nice music playing in the background. 3 minutes later, the waiters were waiting on us to. We ordered our food and it didn’t take long. It came out to us hot and delicious. Presentation was amazing. Workers were so nice to us. I would like to come here again. I took pictures of the food and the seating area before they closed down for the night. Don’t worry. When we walked in, there was a good amount of happy people.

I've had a lot of curries in a lot of places and this is some of the best indian food I've had. We will definately be back!

Just been for meal tonight with my wife 8 march 2025 food superb the staff were amazing and very polite and professional the wine was very nice red malbec highly recommend was our first time and will be back soon
