Absolutely brilliant. Loved every bit of it. The service was impeccable and so friendly, the food was brilliant too. The only complaint I have is when seeing the lass behind the bar pouring a pint, I really wanted to teach her how to do it. The amount wasted was crazy, save yourself a massive fortune and teach her how to pour a pint.lol...Scots lass that's worked in standard pubs, restaurants and classy establishments as well and understands the importance of a well poured pint ;) Amazing place and amazing people though thanks again

Absolutely fabulous, first time there and loved the Spaghetti Bolognese I had, delicious 😋 The garlic bread was to die for, best I've ever had. Great service and fab atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable. Lovely garden bar that's just been revamped. My little grandson Luca likes to go there for his tea on a Friday evening and he loves it. I would highly recommend. I will be booking a table there soon x Just visited for Sunday lunch and it was delicious, can't fault it at all. Yorkshire puddings are the best and gravy very tasty xx

Lively atmosphere, excellent service. Some might find it a little noisy, maybe not the best place for a romantic meal! Great for groups/parties. The olives, humous and bread starter was excellent.

Although the food was lovely it didn't feel worth the hour and 10 minutes we waited for it to come out, understandably it was busy but there were people coming in after us and getting their food within 20 mins, we asked 3 times for staff to check how long, twice no one came back to us, the 3rd time the waitress said it would be coming soon, they apologise and will reduce the bill accordingly. Finished our food and asked for the bill, waited another 10 minutes and no bill so ended up going to the bar, went to pay, no discount at all, as offered. Disappointed as the food was good.

Had the £10 lunchtime special excellent food good size portions I was expecting small version of main menu. Not so potatoes skins, pizza, and ice cream excellent

I've been here a few times now with some of my family. We occasionally get together for a few pints to enjoy the Saturday afternoon football, and we always finish off here for a bite to eat. They offer a very good, varied menu for both food and drinks at what I would deem reasonable prices. The steaks here are fantastic and I would recommend them to anybody! I have to give a mention to the staff here as well. The whole team are incredibly efficient and hard working but I want to give a special mention to Marseille, (I'm basing the spelling of his name on the French city and I am sorry if I have got it wrong) but he has some good banter and is always making people smile and laugh and in my opinion, that helps to add to the whole experience! I would highly recommend people to book in advance if you intend to visit. Every time I have been here, it has been absolutely packed! Keep it up, team!

Great place to eat. Best cajun beef with penne pasta. Was bust and everyone was smiling or laughing. Even the staff joined in. Very reasonable prices, special board and weekday lunch 3courses for £10!! Definitely be back.

An excellent place to eat! Excellent food at a really affordable price. Polite, courteous and very friendly staff creating a really great atmosphere. Discovered this place by accident really whilst visiting Sedgefield with family. Will certainly be going back to Sedgefield just to eat there again. We enjoyed it that much.

I wouldn’t recommend for food. Prawn starter and black pudding starter both were not nice at all. Pasta main and paella main were ok but not great. For the price they were poor. The garlic bread was very good mind and the service was good fun. Would maybe return for a pizza as they looked good but would avoid for anything else. Maybe wouldn’t be as critical if the food was cheaper but bad food is still bad food. There are a lot of much better places in the area to visit.

What a brilliant restaurant. We did not book the staff were so accommodating even though it was so busy. I think most restaurants would break being so busy but this one ran like clock work. The price of the food is fantastic, yet the quality is brilliant. Brilliant staff, great food and such a friendly place. It makes a big difference when happy staff create a great atmosphere. Spot on!

Amazing food every time we go . Big portion for the price we pay.

Attended just before Xmas as a party of 13 for lunch. We had booked in advance and also supplied our menu choices . The staff worked very hard we were seated and drinks served in a short while after arriving. The food was served quickly, and no one was left waiting. They have expanded their dessert menu to include cakes, pastries etc as well as ice cream . Everyone in our party were very pleased with their meals etc. Very good value too. The staff are very friendly but work hard. Would return.

Christmas Day meal 3 pm sitting starter broth was lovely main meal vegetarian option was awful swimming in gravy over cooked and tasteless so disappointing ….. selection of deserts were lovely

Can't recommend this place enough, food was great but it's the staff who made this place outstanding. They went above and beyond with the customer service and we'll be definitely back when we visit Sedgefield next time.

Excellent service and tasty food. Benny and Emma made us feel right at home and the chef served some excellent food. We only called in for a drink but decided to stay for food and was not disappointed. Great value, will call again when in the area 👍

Not sure why it's called Little Sicily, nothing particularly Sicilian on the menu. Pizza that I had was average. The waitress was very friendly. Avoid early evening if you want a quiet, relaxed meal.

popped in for a couple of drinks, warm greeting on arrival. asked if eating or drinking. we headed out to the secret garden, which looked very nice and had a couple of slides for kids and a few summer houses . when leaving, peoples meals looked great, so will be back soon to try!

Perfect! We walked up to the Black Lion when I came in from a meeting, without a booking. We were greeted promptly and charmingly and seated without problem. The service was lively and fun, but efficient and brisk. The food was classic Italian and very tasty. All in all, this was a great experience. I'm sure we will be back!

Been a few times, tried different dishes each time all excellent. Reasonable prices, service excellent very friendly,highly recommended.

Went along with my partner today on our lunch break. After being seated for ten minutes we were told “sorry I will be over in a while”, then after another 10 minutes we asked the same waiter if we could place our order as we were on our lunch break, he said “sorry I didn’t realise that, no I have to take orders off people over there”. Didn’t realise we had to make him aware 20 minutes to take an order was a long wait, it wasn’t that busy. Attitude was not great either after avoiding eye contact on a number of occasions and not even acknowledging us as we left, I get the impression it happens a lot, won’t be going back to find out anyway.

Dropped in on a busy Sunday for lunch. Very friendly welcome, efficient service and good food (Sunday lunch). Excellent value for money. BUT....NO ACCESS TO TOILETS FOR WHEELCHAIRS. This is very important to my family, hence one star. This pub has recently been refurbished so I am surprised that renovations did not include a disabled toilet (and that the Council allowed this). There is a lot of space, so not too late to correct this omission.

Had a great experience! Staff v friendly, and the food was really nice and very reasonably priced.

Was a guest at a birthday meal and god was it good, the food good and the host even better, funny and seemed to know how to set the tone for the group, which is just how the host should be. If I had to note a negative, it took a while to get drinks as the staff taking the orders at the table seemed to either not pass on the order to the bar or they forgot to realise they were there also to serve drinks, but hey they were busy and the host was on hand to get things right. All in all a very pleasant evening and will definitely go back. Have been trying to find a website to make a booking, but still looking.

Went for a birthday meal very disappointed with menu choice , I decided on goats cheese starter was nice husband had prawns 4 for the price ! Chicken as main was OK only do half a chicken on bone , husband fillet in peppercorn sauce the steak coming swimming in the sauce not in a jug like any where else had it so if you did not like it ..tough , orderd vegetables OK just plain vegetables told these proper vegetables and I did know I has to pay extra for them ....yes I can read a menu ....restaurant very bright lady sat next to us even remarked about it and her and another lady at another table complained spicy pasta too spicy , service was fine until we came to pay was £76.40 we handed over £80 the lad serving then stood and asked us DO YOU WANT YOUR CHANGE !!!!! We told him to keep it as definitely not be back ! Set menu for £10 is a good price but £10 for 4 prawns over priced and we're over cooked and waiter just laughed when we told him ! So overall disappointed

Recommended by friends. The wife & I popped in for dinner with our 2 little boys - Freindly & relaxed atmosphere. The service & food were first class and very reasonably priced. They even nailed the perfect ‘French Martini’ ! We’ll certainly be back ! Highly recommended. 6 stars ! 👍
