The Ferry House

Rockland, South Norfolk
18/04/2019: This is a great Pub that serves good beer and great food all home made fantastic highly recommend eating here. Really, really really good
15/04/2019: This has to be friendliest pub in.broads. there is always a warm welcome by all staff and customers. We come by boat and it has great moorings you can book in advance. It's a traditional old fashioned pub with beans and open fire in middle. Good is home cooked and superb. Never had a bad meal all excellent. They also do great breakfasts. You feel more like part of the village when you visit. Entertainment some days that fits in with environment. Lots of outdoor seating beside river for sunny days. Open 365 days a year and long food service times...what are you waiting for!

Stoke Mill Contemporary Fine Dining

Stoke Holy Cross, South Norfolk, 30-45£
19/04/2019: The last time I cam to Stoke Mill was in the early 2000’s. WHAT A CHANGE SINCE THEN.
15/04/2019: Asistió el domingo 14 de abril de 2019 para una comida de cumpleaños. Mi esposo y yo asistimos con nuestro niño de 3 años que es un poco quisquilloso con la comida.

The Wildebeest

Stoke Holy Cross, South Norfolk, 30-45£
18/04/2019: This has got to be one of the loveliest dining experiences I have had for some time. The place itself looks like a house with charming ivy on the outside, an outdoor area and generous seating inside with rustic tables but modern decor (and fresh tulips).
08/04/2019: Comimos aquí el domingo por la noche. No puedo criticarlo. El frente del personal de la casa era amable y atento, el ambiente era relajante, los horarios eran los correctos, ¡y toda la comida era increíble! Gracias Wildebeest, volveremos por más.

Angel Cafe

Diss, South Norfolk, <20£
26/03/2019: Great new owners, can’t fault the food, easy parking and tables outside for when the weather is good.
19/03/2019: Great food, quirky layout will be going back. Went with the all day breakfast. Cooked to order, the quality of ingredients was excellent.

The Crown at Burston

Bressingham and Burston, South Norfolk
19/03/2019: What a place in a small village, great menu, quality food, such a lovely landlady, chef exstrordinaire, sensible priced meals, decent beer and wine selection, steak nights, live music, quizes, the place must be the jewel in the Diss area
18/03/2019: Can't say a bad thing about the place, food is first rate in the restaurant or in the bar always fresh and great ingredients. the crispy chill beef starter is just the best !! i had it for starters and pudding. all washed down with a great pint of whatever you choose from the great selection of beers.i look forward to my next visit and i hope they do too !!!

Diss, South Norfolk
18/04/2019: The food and service is excellent, the atmosphere is where east meets west, a mingling of styles that accentuates the best of both. The staff and owner are exemplars in courtesy and care, making your visit a memory you will recall with relish.
14/04/2019: The food is always so good here and you will not find better service when it comes to turkish dining out....the cocktails are great value, and always served with a smile. Th atmoshpere is always relaxed and you are made to feel at home straight away. It is easy to recommned this.

Wheatacre White Lion

Thurlton, South Norfolk
03/04/2019: Have lived in the area for over 40 years but only recently made aware of this pub/restaurant by friends, whose opinion we value. Called for lunch and were immediately made welcome by the landlady. The set lunch time offerings were exactly what my husband wanted but when I heard the pie of the day was steak and mushroom there was no other decision for me. Everything was well presented and ample . So much so that it upset me to have to leave some of my meal which I enjoyed immensely. We will definitely return with friends and family to this warm ,friendly establishment whose offerings are just right.
31/03/2019: Booked here for a large family meal. Firstly the service was shabby and had to wait a long time to be attended to, even on a not very busy Saturday night. Got the wrong dishes not once but 3 times and all of the chicken breast dishes were over cooked, tough and inedible but still had to pay for one of them and at £15 is disgusting. The menu is very vague and isn’t clear on whether your dish comes with any vegetables. Overall poor service, terrible food and drastically overpriced. Never going back and highly not recommend.

Logans Good Food Shop

Stratton, South Norfolk, <20£
17/04/2019: Came out with a few friends and was happy with the sandwiches we had, great food and great staff, nothing was too much for anyone and they all cared that we were enjoying ourselves without becoming intrusive. Ag has really made a lovely business with great food. Will definitely be back again. Keep up the good work.
15/04/2019: What a place! Reasonably priced food, generous portions and friendly staff. A wide range of food including sandwiches, salads, wraps, cakes and other delights. I don't see how you can go wrong at Logans. It has a lovely bustling atmosphere and is the perfect place to pop for lunch when you're in the city. I highly recommend the Club Sandwich!! Only slight problem is it is a little small and so many people want to visit so there can be a wait but there is a comfortable area you can wait in with a drink. Also the Oreo Brownies are to die for!

Poringland with the Framinghams, South Norfolk, 45-60£
13/04/2019: I have only been to this restaurant three times before as we reserve it for very special occasions and it's much more expensive than our usual budget. We went once again April 4th this year and had another beautiful, memorable evening. The place is small and quiet, very discreet and very POSH. The service is excellent - the waiting staff make you feel it's their personal job to ensure you have everything you want, they remember what you've ordered, put the serviettes on your lap and clear the table of crumbs between courses. I started with a cocktail - Kir Royale. (They have a huge range of gins if that's your tipple). My partner had the low-alcohol local beer Ghost Ship. The wine list included a very reasonably priced viognier. We loved every morsel of food here. It's a place with thick starched linen, huge spotless glasses, perfectly polished silver-ware; amuse bouche, if you please, and tiny hand-made chocolates. Honestly, you feel like royalty when you dine at Brasteds and we really love it there. There's so much attention to detail!
09/04/2019: We came here for a birthday meal on a Saturday night. very impressed with being greated at the door and shown to a small area for pre meal drink. picking out the food and drinks prior to being shown to the table.

Loddon Plaice

Loddon, South Norfolk
10/04/2019: We tried Loddon Plaice as we're new to the area. Their tagline is they do fish and chips the traditional way. Hubby ordered large cod and chips twice. I have never seen a piece of cod so huge! It was so thick and we could tell it was fresh. With the ocean less than half hour away that's not a surprise. The batter was tasty and both the fish and chips were cooked in beef dripping and the food was served in a cardboard portion box. My only sadness was they were out of mushy peas but to be honest I wouldn't have had room for them anyway.
01/02/2019: Always good service and nice and fresh. Highly recommended and you can pay on debit card.

The Old Kings Head

Scole, South Norfolk, <20£
14/04/2019: Pasta and pizzas were v good and the atmosphere was convivial and cosy. What really stands out is the service : possibly the friendliest and loveliest waitresses ever!
14/04/2019: What s refeshing change to have a reasonably priced gastro pub with just fantastic food. Starters are traditional and on the menu looked a little 'boring' however, they were really delicious. We all choose a different one and created a sharing platter. The mains are a selection of pizzas. Again great quality of ingredients and flavour by the bucket load. My dessert was wow. Ice cream with a shot of hot ecpresso and a shot of Amaretto, a traditional Italien starter. Our waitress was so lovely. This is not a restaurant with its head stuck up somewhere. It was efficient welcoming and great value for money. 4 of us with drinks 3 courses was £114. I really cant grumble as we had at least 2 alcholic drinks each. Defo going back.

East Coast Family Restaurant

Hempnall, South Norfolk
19/04/2019: First visit for me other family members have been before. I loved it very good food ,fantastic quick service nothing too much trouble . Will be coming back soon.
02/04/2019: Been to this restaurant a couple of times, nothing is too much trouble for the staff, the food is gorgeous, reasonable prices.

Ravenous Cafe

Gillingham, South Norfolk
16/04/2019: My friends found this gorgeous hidden gem and told me I must go. A friend and I went for lunch on Saturday. With ample car parking on arrival. You walk inside its got that lovely warm homely feeling. You get a smile from the staff as soon as you walk in. It's all laid out lovely with higher chairs for the older generation. It's a place I will take my parents as my Mum needs higher chairs to get in and out of. There is a good choice on the menu to cater for everyone. A children's area to keep them occupied. The food is lovely and just the right amount. I can highly recommend the brie and bacon panini was lovely. Nice bacon not mostly fat. Loved having a look around the shops after. There is nothing not to love about this hidden gem. I highly recommend it for all generations. Thank you to the staff. We will be visiting again.
23/02/2019: This place is charmingly retro and different. The staff are great and friendly and the breakfasts veggie and not at 6 quid a go are great. Massive pots of tea and there’s 70’s second hand China to buy and a great rug and second hand clothes shop off the side. Cyclists and dog owners are welcome and it’s a really genuine place which is worth a visit in a lovely country side area.

White Horse Chedgrave

Chedgrave and Thurton, South Norfolk
17/04/2019: Had yet another great meal. Hubby had whitebait and steak and I had the goats cheese starter it was to die for, I then cheated and had whitebait and chips (they did not turn a hair at my strange request). There was then a charity prize bingo session which we joined in, and our puddings were delivered to us while we played. A hugely successful evening and hubby won an Easter egg, if you are in Chedgrave don’t miss the White Horse and the unique landlord Simon
15/04/2019: Visited for a late Sunday Lunch. Had the pork and sirloin roast dinners. Everything beautifully cooked. Followed up with desserts - the Elton mess was delicious. Staff very friendly and welcoming.
