Called in on a Monday recently looking for lunch. My wife and I had visited a couple of months ago and ate in the garden. The food was lovely and the beer good. On this occasion we had to eat in the pub because of the weather but we were pleased to find very friendly staff and a clean and tidy pub with nice decor. The place was empty and we feared the worse,. However, we found the real ales excellent and the food, once again , very nice. The food and drink was inexpensive and there was concessions for OAPs. The people running the pub couldn't do enough for you and although we were on our own we had a great experience. Considering how some nearby pubs are so popular I can only think that people haven't yet discovered this place which is a few yards off main rod up Rivelin and very near all beauty spots.

Beautiful meal with family this evening. Food was beautiful, we had the Sunday beef lunch . A lovely lady called Fran served us and was very attentive and friendly. Thank you .

Cheap drinks ranging from £1 to £2.30 great price in the modern world, including the atmosphere for a cheap price of £23 but boring once it runs out though, all the locals stop working and just sit there like switched off robots. I caught one of them out of the corner of my eye whispering to the bar tender something about the upcoming super Mario game but it was none of my business or yours for that matter.

It was a beautiful pub but no longer with us

The food was average. There is no service as such, you have to go to the bar yourself which isn't a problem but people might want to be aware. There are no food 'tabs' so it's pay up front at the bar. I wouldn't recommend the ribeye. The wings seemed to be the best starter from our group.

Mi hija contrató el café para una fiesta íntima de té por la tarde / noche para celebrar su 30 cumpleaños. La cafetería estaba decorada con buen gusto y la comida era absolutamente deliciosa. Los sándwiches en bollos de brioche eran particularmente buenos. Carrie y el equipo fueron atentos, muy amables e hicieron toda la experiencia sin problemas. Es genial poder crear tu propia área de bar también. No puedo esperar para la celebración de la corona de Navidad en unas pocas semanas. ? Lo recomiendo para cualquier celebración o evento.

Had food here the other day, and it was spectacular. You can give my thanks to the chef as it is abundantly apparent that they put their heart into every dish! The service was also great and food was served promptly.

Vine para un domingo carvery con mi mamá y papá, la carne estaba deliciosa y tan tierna, cada elemento del asado era genial, la verdura, el queso coliflor, excelente elección de verduras y salsas, y una gran relación calidad-precio, sin duda volvería de nuevo.

Forgot the drink which was disappointing as my daughter couldn't eat hers without it. Food was lovely.
