The best restaurants serving Default food in Hipperholme and Lightcliffe Calderdale Yorkshire and The Humber

The food we had was ok but nothing amazing. Garlic mushrooms, plenty of them but pretty tasteless, smothered in cheese topping,not nice. Fish pie looked good, but was a bit tasteless, again too much cheese topping. Steak n kidney pie, lacked kidney, bit stodgy. Chips were not the best quality frozen chips. Don't sit near a window, you will need to put your coat on,windows drafty. Will try it again and select something different before we make final decision.

Visited the store the Friday, requested fish and chips with a sausage. Upon arrival at home, i noticed that my sausage was undercooked and showed signs of what looked to be slimey jelly like substance. However, what has tipped me over the edge is this note being placed on my partners car. In which we have recently moved onto George Street, he works night shifts so finding parking at 5am is extremely difficult. So he resorts to the end of the road which is STILL on George Street, not obstructing any junctions or anything. However, the lovely owners of this shop have decided to cause what could have been a serious accident by putting a note on the side window advising that due to them having a shop not to park when he had parked. Baring in mind, there is a Tesco Car park across the road, the street is 1 way so cars shouldn’t be turning left onto the street, and there is plenty of parking on Wakefield road for customers to park and attend to there services. The owner has reacted in a very childish manner and instead of letting residents of George Street park on their own road, decided to now leave their car parked there 24/7. Which is actually contradicting what there not says. They want that space for customers however there cars going to be parked there all day and night? Sorry but make it make sense. Awful customer service, atmosphere is toxic and do not recommend this to anyone

Had a fantastic meal, everyone really enjoyed it. We're vegetarian and there was a good choice and would recommend the house salad too

We called for a sandwich at lunchtime as were having a meal later. We opted for baguette & chips. I had turkey & stuffing in gravy and my husband had beef in gravy. They were absolutely gorgeous and the home cut chips were fantastic. We won't be having tea now, we were well and truly full. This was our third visit for food and have always enjoyed the home cooked food.

**Has changed hands since this review, no where near as nice.** Always fantastic, great portions and the collection times are always bang on correct to the minute. The food taste is fab and never had anything wrong. Don't hesitate get your food ordered!

We had a lovely visit to The Old Mill. Dan was our server and delivered fantastic customer service—he was very friendly, helpful, and made sure to check back on us, which was much appreciated. Our table was spacious, clean, and extremely comfortable, making for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend!

We call here quite often for breakfast and have never had a poor meal or drink. Staff are lovely and friendly and food locally sourced and oh so tasty. I would defo recommend .

Always use these guys, excellent curry’s and kebabs. Best naan and chappati about. Freshly made and great friendly service

We were disappointed by the quality of the food and the inconsistent service. Don’t order the turkey sandwich. It was poor. No butter, a few chunks of turkey and a slab of stuffing. All between two slices of white supermarket style bread. The steak pie was better although the pastry was so solid in places that it couldn’t be cut let alone eaten. The filling was really nice though. Some of the staff were cheerful and helpful, others less so. I’ve still rated it 3 - average - and we might have been on a bad day. The setting is lovely, especially on a sunny day.

A few years ago this pub was superb, great food, lovely atmosphere & always busy. When we arrived it was very busy & noisy in the beer garden. Our waitress was new & very friendly. The food when it came was not the best. Think this pub is more focused on drinks & food is secondary

Waited over 2 hours for driver to turn up outside house and not have the food in the car so cancelled food order absolutely terrible service will never use again !!!
