We stopped off here for a lunch, and was welcomed by friendly staff. We had bacon and brie rolls that were so good, the bacon was nice and crispy, a delight. We will be back.
Thankyou The Royal Oak . You were able to squeeze 7 of us in on Easter Sunday for lunch ! Which was very much appreciated .🙏
Roast s were lovely
The pies as discussed in previous posts were also top marks
A wonderful traditional British pub , let’s keep them going ! 💪
Dog friendly .
We were not staying on the holiday park but decided to go for an evening meal on a Sunday as we were staying close by We were disappointed. Quite a lot of the menu was not available so our choice was limited which is difficult when you have food issues. My husband's fish was not good and my friend and I had to order a starter with salad as nothing else suited us. The food was very disappointing considering what we paid. Not good value for money
Had tea and cake after trip to Hardy's cottage and walk along Roman road. Good tea and cake. Cafe packed with dogs which is not compatable with good hygiene. Also they present trip hazard for busy staff. Dogs should be tethered outside which would be the responsible thing to do.
Back pain meant my older wide couldn’t accompany me back to quirky Bridport .
This meant no earache for me !
Sun shone and Costa flat white was as described.
( as it says on the tin!, an advert used to say )
Looks like a couple of young mothers had allowed their children to have a croissant fight leaving all the incriminating evidence under the nearby table but I think the blame for that sits with the parents rather than any of the staff who has ever were wonderful .
I’ll be back when her painkillers are topped up !
Well, we didn’t expect this! Just such a generous welcome from Andrea and attractively furnished rooms were just what we needed for a night’s rest on our epic Coastal Path walk. Thoughtful touches such as cool soft drinks in the room and a box of delicious biscuits, and quality shampoo and shower gels.
Great choice of delicious food in the pub restaurant and much needed lager. The vegan chick pea and vegetable curry had the wow factor and was a well thought out excellently balanced meal. Breakfast too was excellent. Don’t know how you get the energy to work so hard Andrea, but you do it wonderfully and are the best host ever.
Should've trusted our instincts and not returned but called in last week for a cold drink after walking into Bridport from Eype.
Filthy tables (and toilets!) and full of the 'usual' very early morning drinkers!
Lesson learnt!
I'm a postie in Lyme, stopped there for lunch last week. Best chips ever. Decent service, clean and tidy and delicious food. Can't believe some of the reviews below aren't malicious
Great Fish and chips .
Don’t take cash .It is legal tender in UK ,why not?
Lunch atmosphere ruined by screeching loud vocalist.
Could not hold conversation with friend .
Would have thought in such a place as Poundbury grand piano and smooth music would be more appropriate or something similar .
Couple on next table were like minded .They could not speak either
We dropped in for a couple of drinks before dining at The Taj in Bridport. Family have stayed here when visiting and we’d dined on the odd occasion.
Aware The Bull is a Fullers Establishment we were looking forward to a pint of London Pride. What we were served was shocking; flat, cold and slightly sour. Lifeless!
My friend left half of his. While we should have complained the beer should not have been served. We like London Pride and have enjoyed it at many venues. Shame on Fullers for serving these poor pints.
This is a real pub which is well kept and serves really good food. The food is always hot and there is a welcome service.
We rae regulars here and will continue to be for some time.
