The Greyhound Public House in West Dorset

Should've trusted our instincts and not returned but called in last week for a cold drink after walking into Bridport from Eype. Filthy tables (and toilets!) and full of the 'usual' very early morning drinkers! Lesson learnt!

Tim Martin, you are clearly employing mind dead idiots, the young new starter with no experience and lack of training by experienced staff, to say he was lost was an understatement and bar staff that don't get their chin up to realise who is at the bar, oh have to say, stayed at Cobat hotel in wester super mare, food tipical wetherspoons cold and gave me diarrhoea, thanks, management plan needs work, at best a rethink is needed.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!! Where to start….. The table and chairs and surrounding areas where dirtier then a public toilet! We were served by a member of staff who brought our drinks just put them on the table and walked off without clearing the table from the previous occupants. Then the so called “food” arrived staff still didn’t clear the table so had to eat with other dirty plates etc on our table. I would rather eat off the floor then go back there

A group of us (5) were camping in Bridport last week and visited here a few times, sometimes for food and sometimes just for a drink. The drinks visits were not an issue however food was! To be fair the first time (Saturday night) we ate here it was OK but the second time was a disaster. 3 of us ordered steak (2 med rare and one med-well done). They ALL came out rare! I could just about cope with mine but OH who'd ordered the med-well done couldn't so we sent it back. 20 minutes later, and everyone else had finished their meals, we got fed up with waiting and I went to the bar and was immediately offered a refund (fair enough) including the drink. 10 minutes later we were about to leave and the replacement steak finally came out. Needless to say it went back again. Would not use for food again.

staying self catering in Bridport . so popped in after a long day for a cheap meal .We like our Spoons and have been to many many .. but this one was the worst. tables and floor wet and dirty. loud people . items not on the menu. everything that people who don't like Wetherspoons say about them. shame poor pub. good chain .

my husband my son and i went to here tonight i am disabled diabetic and had heart attack last nov my son had the gammon and it was burnt my hubby had scampi and it was over cooked i had cod and chips and it was over cooked and greesey dread full my son told tonights manager and he said my need to change the oil and that was it not sorry no replacement a team leader asked if the meal was ok so we told him we were not happy he said he would speak to kitchen and he never came back 1 im diabectic 2 greese is no good for a person thats had heart attack yuk yuk

We stayed here for 3 nights in september the location is very central but you can't park anywhere near to unload luggage as its surrounded by double yellow lines and a fast traffic flow once inside you face 4 flights on steps with your luggage, because their isn't a lift so unless your fit forget it, the rooms are excellent very clean and with most facilities,at £96 per night without breakfast and add parking it's poor value unfortunately we we subject to wetherspoons breakfast mangled together on one plate because we couldn't find any where else

The beer is well kept and the food they offer is perfect for a village pub. Friendly staff and lots of cheerful regulars.

Stayed here on a Sunday night. The chap who checked us in was very nice and welcoming. We used the Witherspoon's app to order dinner and drinks to our table and it worked like a dream. Our daughter even bought us drinks from her phone sent to our table and she was at home. The room was very good for the price paid. An absalute bargain.

Served quickly, good quality for price. A large selection of food mostly served with free drink. Staff very helpful and cheerful.

Stayed at the hotel here and can thoroughly recommend this hotel, rooms clean spacious and despite being on top of a pub relatively quiet. food is the same as any spoons, service fast and polite, cheap and cheerful

Poorly managed rude staff and disgusting food . Went to the bar to order food short staffed and people were que dumping staff didn’t care even though the could see it happening ordered a Pepsi I was served up a what can only be described as dirty dish water I said to the girl that’s not right right she tutted and sighed and had to go find someone to do it for her . Then finally food came two friend had all day brunch one had specifically ordered toast as a side to be served stale bread when asked why it wasn’t toasted we simply don’t do toast after 12?! Ha come on it takes about a minute to do toast surely your kitchen staff are capable? I had the jacket potato with tuna mayo should be simple but affective but I was put off when I found a long black hair in my tuna mayo (I have red hair ) so obviously sent it back it was replaced relatively quickly however there was no apologies or anything the whole place was dirty tables filthy and the staff were rude clearly understaffed won’t be returning

Used to come here for breakfast regularly. A change occurred and the breakfast went downhill so about 18 months ago we stopped coming. This week we decided to give it another go. Cold food (toast was warmer than the cooked stuff) over cooked egg. Won’t bother wasting my money again.

This morning me & my husband decided to take are two young children out to spoons for a breakfast as a little TREAT! ONLY PROBLEM WAS my 1 year blueberry porridge was given too her with MOADY BLUEBERRYS!!! Absolutely desgusting then my husband when & complained they went to refund the blueberry ONLY! The staff didn't even care the could OF POISON MY BABY I went too the kitchen & told the 'cook' she SMILE AT ME!! DISGUSTING POOR & VILE STANDERS FROM A NATIONAL COMPANY!!!

The food was not too great. The meat was burnt and tasted accordingly - but its cheap. The staff are friendly :-)

We use Wetherspoons a lot....like them a lot. This one needs a spruce up...just a bit tired. Sat at a table for two near the door and my wife had cigarette smoke drifting in on her from outside. Service was superb....meal ok (chips a bit underwhelming and not hot enough). Prices, of course, terrific. So not bad...but could have been better. Staff were great, though.

Couldn’t find a table as busy. Barmaid told me to go in room opposite. Sat down ate mediocre meal then just finished and was told to leave as private function. Yes there was a sign but was instructed to have table there. Some poor guy half way through his meal told to find another table. Embarrassing behaviour, hope he writes a review. Poor customer service!

We visited the Greyhound for a drink and snack. Knowing it to be under the Wetherspoons umbrella we expected reasonable service, cleanliness and standard food.The place looked and felt run down, the few staff seemed very young and appeared to lack any sort of guidance.No teabags, stirrers available at the coffee machine site, filthy carpets in that areaWhen our festive pannini arrived ( which the member of staff disputed being in the menu at all) the accompanying chips had to be returned as they were cold.Not the norm for a Wetherspoons at all. Wouldn’t return

Me and my family came here today for a lovely meal, it was cooked very quickly and tasted really nice and value for money, my only is single/couple customers sitting at tables of 4 chairs, staff should get them to sit at table for 2, but we were lucky to find a table at the back for the 4 of us, will come again

Made to feel at home and welcome from the very first second that we entered, Ed and his staff are such lovely people and spoilt us and our 4 greyhounds from the moment we arrived until we left.We will definately be visiting again !!

service took ages, as only 2 staff behind the bar, 1 popped off, leaving a sole member of staff, food when ordered didn't take too long to come, but my beans were cold, other than that a brekkie with a cuppa for £3.50 bargain. do wish they had toilets downstairs tho!

6 of us popped in on monday to see if we could have dinner here later in the week as we walked in at 1.55pm we were greeted with " we have stopped food " the barman was not very friendly and as we ordered drinks i asked if it was good to book a table rather than just turn up he said " yes but we have stopped food today ".

If you like burnt bacon, broken egg, cold sausage and cold tea then this is the place for you oh the toast was nice

Popped in for brunch , both had the breakfast and tea , very reasonably priced and staff friendly but the floors were very sticky and tables could do with a wipe . But service was very quick and food was lovely . Will return .

It was stuck to the wrapper so badly that when I tried to remove it the contents fell out. The meat was gristly and fatty... God only knows if it was actually chicken. The chips were uncooked. Fortunately the good was on time and the staff were friendly but I wouldn't recommend this establishment

The introduction of a "smoking area" of 2 high stools and a slab of wood in a large outside space at the rear of this pub is ridiculous!! I was in there today and people were wandering about with glasses and bottles in their hands trying to find somewhere to sit to enjoy the drinks they had paid for and to have a cigarette in a little comfort of a chair.Eventually everybody just sat where they liked, drank their drinks and smoked a cigarette exactly the same as before. This outside space is for general use by the public who are purchasing drinks from the bar. This space is nothing to write home about, shoddy and badly kept, the furniture is not up to much and I really do not know what you think you are running there, a Police State possibly? The whole idea is ridiculous and an insult to paying customers who enjoy a cigarette of which there are many, if you continue with this I hope they stay away from your pub in droves!!

We had lunch here on a busy Friday. There were still plenty of tables and we ordered at the bar (as always with Wetherspoons) choosing the fish and chips (special for Friday) and glasses of cider. They warned us it could be up to 20 minutes because they were so busy and the food actually arrived in 15 minutes. It was hot, large and delicious. I don't know how they provide such good food for such amazingly low prices. A great place to have an enjoyable well-priced meal - served by very cheerful efficient staff.

The only reason delivery is low is because we asked for our food to be delivered at 7:00pm and it came at 6:40, which wouldn't be an issue usually but we were busy and had to leave the delivery driver waiting a little while

We visited on a very busy Saturday. The market was just packing away so lots of people were looking for a place to eat. We found a table, not a lot of room around it. The decor, I felt was tired. I ordered a meal for two, which was effiecient. It was busy, but we waited 20 minutes for a baked potato and a ceaser salad!The food was ok for pub food.

Have been using this amazing pizza place for years still the best ever pizza you will eat by far. Kebabs are amazing and the chilli sauce is actually HOT!! Amazing!!

The pizza's were of supermarket quality, unfortunately we were expecting thin crispy based pizza's, not thick doughy based pizza's. To be fair TPH don't advertise thin crispy pizza's.

Not as good as usual. The pizza was a bit undercooked and doughy. I ordered cheesy chips but there was no cheese ,which I paid £1 more for. Delivery was as friendly and efficient as ever though.
