Costa Coffee -Bridport in West Dorset

Not a single socket in the cafe, not be heading back there in a hurry! ☹️

I use Costa worldwide, and some are cleaner than others. This one is in a good high st position to watch the Brid world go by, or sit further in, and work, with plenty of light above, on computer or iphone, or chat with friends. Just by the bus stops too!

Again it's the staff who make a difference in Costa and here they are absolutely fantastic Thank you guys from tiny.. ride to recovery

Been a few times and always the same great friendly relaxed atmosphere on a Sunday. Never feel rushed and feel i could stay all day

Drinks made quick not a long wait. The area was quiet and calm

Apart from the expensive prices, some workers should not be there, one day I left a tip in a jar they had, and the worker, upon hearing the coin and seeing my hand next to her, thought I had stolen some coin from the tip, she confronted me and accused of being a thief, and although the other people who were waiting for his order told him that he had not stolen, but had left a tip, he did not believe me and to top it all off, the next day I went, another of the workers was aware of the problem for days. back he did not return the changes to me as part of collecting what he had supposedly stolen from them. I find it painful and regrettable that I leave a tip and they treat me like this, on top of having cameras and being able to see how they were not right. Leaving aside the actions of those workers and the poor treatment they gave me for being a foreigner, the rest is fine.

Unable to understand as to why the prices are different from each other. Same coffee so why.

Terrible weather meant that we went into Costa to escape the rain. This is a Costa like most others. Had hot chocolate. Was OK but could have been warmer. Short of staff so only serving drinks in throwaway cups rather than crockery. Not so nice, plus very bad for the environment. Mastercard cards accepted.

Not at all impressed. Admittedly, Costa is a lower end chain but this one was especially poor. The coffee tasted bad and the food was awful. The staffers (Saturday afternoon) were disinterested and occupied chattering to one another. Very very unpleasant.

Staff friendly enough, only 4 star review due to toilets not being clean and chart not ticked as having been cleaned. I did mention this to a member of staff quietly and she said she would sort it straight away. When I finished my coffee I had to use toilet again but it had still not been cleaned

The best workers in bridport! Gave us a refund for something we lost! Really good food and service! If any cafe in bridport, costa is the choose!

NEED TO UP THEIR GAME! Bridport certainly doesn't lack coffee shops. Great range offering different styles, etc. Costa, however, seem content churning out their stewed bitter blend for top dollar. Across the road in the Ropemakers the coffee is 10x better. This branch lacks any atmosphere and is regularly full of screaming infants. Tuesday seems to be 'bring your child to Costa Day'.

It took 20mins to serve 3 customers. Poor service and rude staff I won't be coming back to this store.

Although staff were pleasant and polite. To be told oat milk doesn't froth😩, is no excuse. Costa used to the best coffee around which area or town you went to, now it's becoming the most expensive and most inconsistent., oat milk needs to shaken to mix each time it's used and not it's just poured straight out😡no wonder it doesn't froth.

Slow staff and the WiFi only works immediately around the counter. As soon as you sit down, signal drops out. Very disappointing. Not the usual high standard I expect from Costa

Taking the old girl out for a coffee is sometimes no fun as she used to work in the industry so she knows her crema. She used to be involved in importation from some of the finest coffee bean producing regions. This was before the Suez Canal was fully functional so tricky times. However the smiling lady here and acceptance of her moaning won us over. Great froth,great smiles,great small market town and great motability access. Well done Bridport !

I don't mind Costa, but they vary so much. I tend to avoid the one in my home town as it's so messy, but sometimes you have to take what's there. I was driving home from the West Country and needed a coffee and comfort stop. In a small town like Bridport on Easter Monday the choice is limited. I didn't have toime to explore so went to the first open coffee shop I saw. If you frequent Costa you will now exactly what to expect. The formula never changes. Behind the counter where the coffee is made was predictably messy. It nearly always is, but the coffee was fine, and the lemon muffins very agreeable. It did what it needed to do. Coffee and a short rest

Not sure they know how to make spiced apple fusion tea but it was OK.

Busy , its a Costa so does what it does quite well. It could do with more tables for 3 or more .

Very relaxing pit stop en route to Devon. Just had coffee, but delicious, and staff friendly. Quite serene in there. Great.

A welcome break whilst shopping

Good coffee, lovely food, comfortable seating area. Unfortunately on our visit we had a bunch of school children in the premises being very load. I guess they were excited about finishing school for the Christmas holidays so can't complain too much. Staff quickly dealt with the situation though.

went into costa earlier with my husband while making our way to Devon to see our son, only stopped in quickly for a coffee and got served by a lovely lady and the coffee was very nice, would return again.

The guys in here particularly Jordan and Jess and the lady with the foot cast are brilliant and despite the shortage of staff always smile and make a visit worthwhile Keep going dudes

Not the best Costa Coffee we have had. Staff very pleasant. Drastic shortage of cake but with genuine reason. Venue was kept clean with tables cleared. The outside seating down to the road can be nice. We enjoy Costs coffee and are regular visitors but let's face it most Costa coffee shop frontage can look a bit tired.

Stopped in during a sunny day in Bridport to enjoy a birthday shopping trip. As you would expect efficient service. Enjoyed a cheese & ham toastie with a pot of Earl Grey tea. Lovely to have a hassle free sit down and refreshments. Clean toilets too.

Toilet dirty service so slow .Not been in here for a year because it's never clean,still the same after not visiting for a year .

Only using paper cups on the day I went, unfortunately, these had not been cleared away. The staff were stretched but very polite, apologetic and friendly.

It was clean but no atmosphere.. they got my tea order wrong, but appologised and changed it straight away.

Had 2 hot chocolates which were good but pretty expensive for what they are. Was pretty annoying that the wifi was abruptly shut off more than 40 minutes before the cafe closed, and the guy at the counter basically started kicking people out by telling them it was takeaway only even though it was only 4:45pm and the store closed at 5:30pm.. The wifi should be on until the store closes, or at least if you’re going to cut it off then let the customers know beforehand.

Great and calm atmosphere, generally a good place to go to with friends or for waiting for something. (Had to wait for an hour and a half in there and they weren't bothered about it.)

If open until 5pm , why have attitude if a customer comes in for a quick coffee at 4:35 pm ? To boot large was a medium in a large cup for both hot chocolates and the white one was mainly lukewarm milk. This is my first ever review , but was so unimpressed I felt the need!

Myself and my girlfriend and our friends enjoyed a nice cup of milky coffee here.

It was the only place that we could get a decent drink. Unfortunatly it was Tea Ha! But still somewhere to quench your thirst?

The thing with Costa is you know what you're going to get: good coffee, good service and interesting nibbly bits if you feel peckish. This branch is no exception. What is slightly different, which makes it stand out, is the nature of the premises. It's an interesting layout within, especially if you're lucky enough to get one of the big comfy sofas by the windows at the front, where you can indulge yourself in people watching. There's a taxi stand across the road as well as nearby bus stops. A great place to drop anchor after exploring magical Bridport.

Like Covid yeah... However this place feels like a big empty box with the atmosphere of a funeral parlor.

Came in for lunch and coffee with my little girl there was a really good play area for her to crawl around in such a relaxing atomospher the staff here are so helpful and polite everything you would expect from a coffee shop.

Really welcoming staff, offered us a new drink when they noticed we didn’t drink our first.

Twice tried to get a single order for a single coffee made. Not difficult, but they still messed it up. Both coffees were given back and I will take it up with there head office who have a very good complaints system on line.

Nipped in after wet walk for coffee to warm up. I have to say the manager of the shop showed the best customer service I've ever seen when being in Costa. You're a credit to your team! Such a lovely clear, clean and tidy shop. No chaos and nothing was to much.

They open much earlier than anyone else in town, especially on a Sunday. Great place for a coffee and a nibble while the town wakes up.

Ordered four drinks and two cakes but the Barista kept saying 3 drinks. Eventually he and his assistant accepted that there were four drinks and asked for the payment. They had still forgotten the two cakes. We got there eventually.

Honestly the worst Costa ever! The place is clearly run by poorly trained staff & they always seem understaffed - it seems like there is no proper management in place. Queued for 25 minutes the other day which is ridiculously long for a coffee shop. When I asked for an Iced Latte, I was quickly & bluntly interrupted but the chap serving me and was told “we can’t do iced drinks”. When I questioned why, I was then told “the blender is broken” What a poor excuse?! The last time I checked, you didn’t need a blender to make an iced coffee - it’s simply just shot of coffee and cold milk. If the staff had been trained properly then they’d of known that you do not need a blender to make this drink. This place is in serious need of better management, more staff and A LOT more training!

I visited costa coffee today and was served by Gene and Jual. They were the most welcoming guys, friendly, polite and so funny. They made me laugh and made my visit a happy one. Costa should be proud of these two delightful members of staff.

Would not recommend! Visited,With Family whilst in the area. Sat down with kids. Wife went to order,no hello or greeting. No asking what coffee she wanted etc? Two staff on till continued to ignore her, so we left. Spend your money elsewhere in Bridport, theres other coffee shops.

I've been here a lot, just because it's a Costa really. Like many vistas, I feel this one is a bit grubby. It's always rammed so maybe I'm the only one who feels this. The trays are particular overused and grubby. The only real windows are at the front but it goes a long way back , where it is dark and poorly lit.

Very convenient when travelling to or from the west country, Coffee was very hot (Just as we asked for) and up to usual costa standard, Just one member of staff, Very friendly and helpful working on his own but no queue as it was early and not very busy. BUT It was very ,very ,grubby, everything from the floor to the trays needed a good clean, Perhaps Costa could employ more staff or maybe somebody with an eye for detail Very convenient but next time we might sit outside!

It's fine.Costa Coffee is ok you get what you expect.
