This café is NOT closed as at 25/05/2024. I just had an excellent coffee and cake, and I must say that the menu looks delicious, great service and dog friendly too. Will definitely call again.

I stayed for the night and dined at the restaurant for dinner. The whole stay was excellent. The food was really good, especially the morning breakfast! The rooms are clean and really comfortable, and the building has a nice lounge area and garden. Would strongly recommend for a cosy getaway!

Not wheelchair accessible I'm in a electric wheelchair there was no ramp to the door and the cafe was up steps so we just left disappointed

Good but you do pay for it. We had 3 breakfasts, (only one of us had a full breakfast) all had a soft drink ( 2x OJ’s and a FW) the cost was £56! Yes it’s lovely food, but goodness it’s expensive. Sadly won’t be coming again with several other much cheaper options nearby without compromising too much on quality.

We were given a night at Holm with an evening meal, chefs tasting menu, for our birthdays. The room 'Elm' was beautiful, spacious, with an enormous bath right in the room. The room was quiet, although on the road, hardly any traffic. Dinner was great fun, little tasting plates, which did take quite a time to arrive but it gave us space to digest between courses. We chose very good white and red wines, the wine list is impressive. We can recommend a stay at Holm.

This was our first visit here. We went for lunch. For a very reasonable set price you can order as many dishes as you like plus one soft drink and a dessert. The waiter was lovely, very helpful and friendly. We ordered 3 main courses each, we were expecting quite small portions and were surprised when the portions were “normal” size. We had a selection of lamb and chicken dishes, coconut rice, one veg dish and and a Peshwari naan. Everything was excellent. The meat was tender and the sauces were very tasty with the right amount of spice. The naan was one of the best I’ve ever had, it was light in texture and well cooked. Desserts were included. There was fresh fruit, 2 types of chocolate cake, some macarons, ice cream and 2 Indian sweets. I was full by this time but had 2 of the delicious macarons and some fresh mango. I couldn’t face the little chocolate we got with the bill so my husband had to eat it! We’ve eaten in Indian restaurants in many parts of the country including some of the best in London but this is some of the nicest food we’ve ever had. Well done to the staff (especially the chefs) and we’ll be back!

Had a tasty cod, chips and peas dinner at the Naval Volunteer Inn, Seavington St Michael on Saturday. I think it was both cooked and served by the landlady who was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed a new beer (to me): a galss of Tornado from The Windy Brewing Company

A delightful location in a delightful village… but looks can be deceptive. Step inside and the greeting is terribly rude and unwelcoming. I wouldn’t venture in there again.

We go to The Seavingtons regularly for lunch. If you don’t know what you fancy there is always a good selection on the specials board as well as an extensive menu. Prices are very reasonable and the food and service is excellent. Considering most of the staff are volunteers in both the shop and cafe I think it’s a lovely place to both eat and do a bit of shopping 👍

A bit gutted. I was really looking forward to taking to visitors here for brunch/ lunch. The only food available was roast lunch - no problem, roast beef or pork was fine by us. However, for £20/£22, you expect a seriously good roast. The gravy was basically stock water, the veg was just boiled greens and roasted roots, and the yorkshires were tiny. Pork was good but apparently the beef was tough and the portions were mean compared to any roast at any other eatery. Overall, it’s the kind of plate you’d expect at a Green King. The setting is lovely as ever and the coffee is excellent, but I honestly couldn’t recommend the food, especially at these prices.

Visited on a Saturday evening whilst away for the weekend. Friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. Good pub grub. Partner had ham, eggs and chips and I had lasagne. Best lasagne I had in ages, topped with a good helping of stringy cheese. Followed by twix sundaes. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
