Really this place is a Hidden Gem, lovely coffee & delicious food, every time. Friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble.

Lovely pub, bit pricey tho and only had Ruddles on which is not fit to wash your car with. Handy curry house attached so you can have a curry & pint and watch the footy. Mint.

I called early 7pm and put my order in for one, after ringing after an hour 8pm to see where my order was, got told it wasn't even on it's way?? Why, can't they ring to say its delayed?

Been trying to find a good carribean since moving out of London and haven't found one until I ordered from here. Got it as takeaway, it was all so fresh, massive portions and amazing flavours. One of the best take aways I have had In ages will definitely order again

OMG, this place is a hidden gem. Staff, service and quality is off the charts. The pub garden is a sun trap too! Can't recomend enough.

Awful experience today for Mother’s Day. Beef was overdone, dry and incredibly fatty - yes sirloin cuts have fat, but it was a terrible joint and overcooked. Several of our Yorkshire puddings were burnt on the sides too and whilst the potatoes were okay, they are cheap frozen ones out of a bag. This wasn’t the end of the world, it wasn’t terrible. What was so surprising was the waitress was so blunt and rude, she really shouldn’t be in customer service at all and was like dealing with a stroppy teenager - eye rolling and incredibly dismissive. At no point were we disrespectful or rude - having worked in the service industry ourselves in the past. Half way through our meals as we hadn’t been checked on prior, the suggestion was to take our plates and replace them - I simply said if she could bring some chicken on a plate out we can split instead so we were not left even longer, but no that wasn’t possible and we’re looked at as if we were suggesting something obsurd. Yes she stated ‘sorry’ but everything else was confrontational and defensive - “well it is busy and there’s only 2 chefs in the kitchen, there’s only so much 4 hands can do” is not the attitude you expect from a gastropub charging well above average for a roast. Then at the end when settling the bill to still leave the service charge on and when asked to remove it a sarcastic remark “well… I tried my best” - really were pushing for this review. What a shame, we’ve been going here for over 10 years and I’m not sure if the ownership has changed hands more recently, certainly the attitude has changed and we will go elsewhere in future.

Staff were very friendly and service was great. Food was delicious and piping hot when served. Would definitely go there again.

Revolting. Don't waste your time or money coming here. Stale bread, so much mayo in tuna sandwich it wa running onto the plate, tasteless and looked like cat food. Strange furniture, corner sofa and chairs. Really. Shabby, didn't look clean. Tables not cleared or wiped down. Full on Chinese menu (written in chinese) alongside baguettes, paints, jacket potatoes. Just turn it into a noodle bar and be done with it. Just wierd all round. Will not be returning

I have been using this chippy on and off for over 10 years and although it has seen several changes of ownership, it has remained consistently good. Food is freshly cooked to order and the staff are friendly. I still miss the era when it was run by the Greek couple (they did amazing gyros and souvlaki), but I have almost always had good food from this establishment.

Food and service were excellent but zero atmosphere. Ken was great and said that he would take our feedback to the management. The place is sterile and silent, some colour and background music and I would be back regularly as this would change the place overnight. I have heard the same views from other people - this was the only restaurant in the village with free tables - it could be bouncing if they would listen to their customers. Ken keep doing what you are doing! Cheers James

Very disappointing. The portions were small and the food was average at best. A friend is vegetarian and the menu was very limited. Her veggie burger was horrible. The food is really overpriced. Absolutely not worth the money. The staff were pleasant and friendly.
