Toppers of Sunningdale in Windsor and Maidenhead

I have been using this chippy on and off for over 10 years and although it has seen several changes of ownership, it has remained consistently good. Food is freshly cooked to order and the staff are friendly. I still miss the era when it was run by the Greek couple (they did amazing gyros and souvlaki), but I have almost always had good food from this establishment.

Great fish and chips,probably the best I’ve had in years in this ascot area.. Had cod and chips but have had anything else but the cod was really nice and the service was great.. Overall perfect

Stopped off for chips and a saveloy. Nothing was prepared, not even the chips. Ordered a large portion of chips - was more like a child's portion. Very disappointing.

Stopped off here on the way home last night for some chips. Nice service. The staff are polite and friendly, and the chips were tasty 😋

Nice owners. Food cooked to order. Cater for Gluten free. This is the best place to get your fish n' chips in the Sunninghill area.

I've lived in the area for 21 years...this is THE BEST fish and chip takeaway. Fish is always high quality and usually big portions...staff are always pleasant to see and chat to, the owner works hard to achieve these standards which are way ahead of the curve. All credit to him. The other two OK fish and chip shops nearby WERE Jacks on the A30, now closed down but prior to that their food was often greasy and always very poor quality compared to Toppers. The other fish and chippy in Sunninghill was usually very good under previous owners (albeit very occasionally greasy) but it has since gone down hill, having been a regular I will not now be returning. If not for Toppers, Ascot area would be a fish and chip desert.

Lovely food, chips aren’t too greasy. Lots of different menu choices for everyone. Staff are lovely and food is always prepared quickly.

I purchased a chicken wrap as the image inside the takeaway looked great. However, upon receiving the chicken wrap and opening it up, it was terrible. Cost of wrap = £4.50 The wrap consisted of a standard tortilla wrap which you would expect to receive in a supermarket multipack. The wrap had edges ripped off and holes throughout. So not even up to the standard of a supermarket multipack wrap. The salad consisted of a bit of lettuce and two slices of tomato. Disappointing when I asked for ALL the salad. The chicken strips, were two tiny southern fried chicken strips. Garlic mayo - disgusting. Poorly put in the wrap also, no care or attention here. All in all - terrible value for money and tasted awful

Great Fish and chips is to found at Toppers! Quick service and really tasty food -batter was nice and crispy. Highly recommended will be going back.

First visit since the new owners took over and we were very pleased. Beautiful fresh fish, tasty chips and the pea and potato fritters were light and crispy. My daughter had the halloumi wrap which she throughly enjoyed. We will definitely be visiting again. 🙂

As someone who grew up by the sea, I miss the particular taste and smell of fish and chips from a shop by the beach. We visited here this week and it happened to be reopening day. The fish was white and chunky and both the batter and chips had a lovely fresh flavour that to me, was distinctly different from other inland shops! The fish shop on Sunninghill high street is closer to us but has gone downhill in terms of quality since opening a few years ago, especially the fish which is often brown and a bit slimy. I much preferred our meal from Toppers. Staff are friendly and it felt like visiting a proper retro takeaway - in a good way! Very clean and spacious waiting space.
