Bloody lovely. We had wings to start. Two had burgers. One had ribs and I had a steak. Two portions of brownie. They made custards which isn't on the menu. I had a cheesecake. Also made us Cocktails that weren't on the menu. Served by Sam and Bella. Sam was chatty but not intrusive. Both fitted in with our sense of humour. Both affable and welcoming. We will visit again. Thank you

Friendly welcome. Helpful staff Wasn’t sure could get our VW van down passage so parked elsewhere Room was clean and comfortable With hairdryer and iron Altho the room was too hot and was unable to switch off heating due to faulty thermostat, it was on all night so we opened window and put towels on radiator to try stop the heat into the room. We were later told the reception can control room heat if we had told them Shower clean and spacious and powerful Breakfast was lovely and good choice

On arrival and throughout our stay the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. At the last minute we chose to eat supper in the bar rather than the restaurant and a table was cheerfully laid for us there. We were able to order from the restaurant menu and the food was excellent. Rooms impeccable with a very comfortable double bed with crisp linen, pristine bathroom, and large enough to comfortably accommodate us. We will definitely use this hotel for future visits.

The hotel is lovely, very cosy and modern. The food is high quality, breakfast was lovely, but the real highlight of my trip was the staff. We had a few issues with the neighbours in our room and the staff couldn’t do enough to help us. They really went above and beyond to make us happy, all of the staff have been friendly and very helpful. The manager was brilliant too, I can’t fault the willingness of the staff, I really would recommend staying here, location is amazing right in the centre but not too noisy!

Wow what can I say, most accommodating hotel with wonderful, caring staff. We were staying as we were in Windsor to complete the Mighty Hike Thames Path (26 miles) for Macmillan. We couldn’t check in until late and couldn’t eat until late but the chef, manager and staff still saw that our needs were seen to and gave us the best service we could ask for. So much so when we visit Windsor again we will most definitely return to this hotel. Once again thank you so much for the great hospitality.

Had a wonderful lunch with my husband at The Christopher Hotel. It is the perfect location on Eton High Street close to everything Windsor and Eton has to offer. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was warm and friendly. The cocktails 🍹 on the new menu were a treat on a sunny afternoon. Can’t wait to return.

Arrived early but was OK to park in a very tight car park and go and explore. On return to check-in we were given a room in the main building which was very hot and the AC was broken. We were then upgraded to a court yard room which was much cooler and we were told there is a delay on towels as the dilevery was late and due at 6pm. 6 pm passed and no towels so I had to go and buy my own. There was no help from the hotel and the towels didn't arrive until 9:30am the next day. After a long day exploring we had dinner and a couple of drinks then went to bed. At around 10pm reception called asking why we haven't checked out and ask me to bring my paperwork to reception to prove it. Which I declined. Overall the hotel is nice but service is lacking.

Popped in for lunch. Had a choice of where I wanted to sit, opted for the bar, which was pleasantly cool on what was one of the hottest days of the year so far. Chose the sirloin steak with tarragon and mustard sauce on the side, followed by the macerated strawberries and frangipane. Service was quick, polite and unobtrusive. Very, very satisfied with my choices. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium) and came with home made fries and a salad. Decent piece of sirloin, flavourful and beautifully tender. I have paid much, much more for stark of a lesser quality, especially when dining out in nearby Bray….. The frangipane and macerated strawberries was a simply delightful dessert, the strawberries were bursting with flavour and the frangipane was exquisite. All set off by a beautifully tart and sour yoghurt. And here’s the thing. This is really excellent food, and the value for money is terrific. When you consider what you get, and the ambience and location, this is very difficult to beat. I’d recommend you stop by and try it. Given my experience today, you will not be disappointed.

I would definitely recommend this hotel... we stayed here for three nights over the bank holiday weekend. First time away since lockdown ended so we were really hopeful for a nice hotel with good food and excellent location and it didn’t disappoint and certainly surpassed expectation. It’s clear The Christopher Hotel has recently been renovated looking at previous photos from 2015/2018. It’s certainly been modernised. The hotel has a quirky layout that adds to the charm. We had breakfast, evening meal with a bottle of wine as part of a deal with our room rate. Sometimes you think ok it’ll do to keep us going but the food was amazing... very high standard. Very considerate to me with a wheat intolerance. Breakfast was an ideal set up but wonder if they’ll struggle to apply the same standards once every thing gets super busy again. But hopefully they can cope. The breakfast meals were made to order and I love that. Especially being able to have poached eggs as that’s a rarity for a hotel breakfast. The evening meals were exceptional and the flavours and the portions and choices were all very well throughout. As well as the amazing food was the very friendly and attentive servers. They were particularly attentive to cleaning tables and social distancing The only star drop was parking.. which I can see wild ultimately be an issue, but there is some on site parking but it’s very limited and we had to ker an eye out and jump in when we could. Would be 5 stars if they could maybe get a subsidised rate from a nearby car park. Can imagine it’s a problem daily for the hotel reception. Hotel reception were very friendly and informative. They also helped to print some tickets we’d purchased for Windsor castle. Would be handy to have some information about attractions around the reception or in the room. Love that there’s wifi included. There’s air con in the room and a ceiling fan which is a saviour as the rooms would be very warm otherwise so that was great to see. Would definitely return and recommend The Christopher hotel. Very happy we found such a great hotel.

This is a good sized room with a really comfy bed. Couple of problems sorted out extremely fast (light bulb went and Luke warm bath water one morning). Breakfast fine and staff really helpful and pleasant. The noise from cars is very intrusive and seems to go on all night. We have been here 4 nights and have not slept well at all. Cars incessantly, noise of deliveries early morning, and normal road noise and people chattering. That’s a shame as we wouldn’t return. It really needs double glazing or better sound proofing such as shutters. We are in the junior suite which overlooks the high street. The hotel guests are generally quiet.

We'd booked this hotel for a Saturday night stay, as our 1st choice (the Eton Mess) had cancelled our booking due to an overbooking glitch at their end. We paid £130 in advance through Booking.com, for a superior double room with breakfast included in the tariff. This Victorian hotel is in the middle of Eton High Street. The car park of the hotel (around which rooms are arranged "motel style") is at the rear and accessed off the High Street, through the narrow archway at the front of the building. We were checked in and advised that our room was "upstairs" near the clock-tower in the Courtyard. We climbed the steep staircase from the courtyard to our room. The staircase had many cobwebs. On opening the door we found a very dated room. The wallpaper was stained, marked and scuffed. There was an oversized air-conditioner on the wall, a small dressing table, double bed, TV and bizarely a single bed had been squeezed into a nook in one corner. The blind above the single bed fell off the wall as I opened it - being secured to the window only with velcro. A door opened into another nook, which served as a wardrobe. Having been told on Sunday morning, breakfast was served until 11.00am, we arrived in the dining room at 10.45. to find it deserted. We knocked the kitchen door and a lady took our order. As she returned into the kitchen she said to the cook "you can't go yet - two more have turned-up". Breakfast comprised a small selection of cereals and a full English.A poor hotel.

We stayed for one night over a weekend visit to Eton and Windsor. The hotel was very nice. Lovely old style building. The entrance through the archway is VERY tight, you’d definitely struggle in a big car! We got in ok, but noticed that later on the Saturday afternoon, the gates were closed and the car park was full. Our room overlooked the car park, we booked a cosy double. It was a compact room, as expected, but the bed was full sized and it was very clean. The electric shower wasn’t all that powerful. We had a decent, freshly cooked breakfast. It was very busy but the service and food quality was great.Would recommend and would stay again.

We stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay. We chose it because of its location as you get the best of both worlds as Eaton is lovely and a short walk along the high street to the river and over the footbridge you are in Windsor! Our room was lovely appointed and very comfortable with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. We looked out onto the car park and the rear terrace. If you aren’t very good with stairs I wouldn’t recommend the hotel as the stairs are pretty steep is probably a good point to mention. The hotel does have a bar and a restaurant both serve food and I have to say the breakfast was excellent and we ate once in the evening there and it was really good -excellent food! The hotel also has parking which we did utilise although it is limited and extremely tight to get in and out due to the style of the building. You literally drive through a coach house style opening and hope no one opens the door to the bar on one side or restaurant on the other! We went out for the day and when we came back the car park was full and the gates closed so we had to park on a local car park which was ok but a little annoying as we had asked about the parking as we had been advised the restaurant would be closed to us as a wedding was being hosted there, we were assured that not a lot of the guests were staying so we would still be able to park but this obviously wasn’t the case! We did really enjoy our trip to this hotel and I would stay again for sure - thank you.

The staff are wonderful and house keeping even checked mid afternoon to make sure we had everything we needed. There are every extra you could want including a trouser press, ironing board, tea and coffee (including hot choc and biscuits) the bathroom was clean and well appointed and the bungalow/chalet was warm and well furnished. We, personally, found the bed too firm but accept this is a personal thing. The bed felt old and wasn't comfy. Breakfast was great and freshly cooked, not buffet. Staff were attentive and everything was plentiful. Our evening meal was lovely and the prosecco was wonderful. Wish we had stayed in the hotel restaurant the Saturday night as well but chose to go out and regretted it!We would come again on the same deal but would not pay full price. Parking was free and it was an easy walk into Windsor so that was a real bonus. Next time I would bring an extra soft layer for the bed but would happily stay in for a meal and recommend the breakfast. All good except for the aged bed.

What was impressive was the customer service from reception in the morning as they refunded most of our money so the 3 stars is for this mainly.

Called for afternoon tea on my birthday....not bad but not very elegant, rough cut sandwiches and three chunks of the same cake but the scones were delicious!

I specifically asked for a firm bed; I had to put an ironing board under it, it sagged so deeply. The furniture was literally falling apart and wouldn't be able to be given away at a jumble sale. The bathroom was so full of bugs, it made me gag; in the bath, in the sink, all over the windows and with rotten fittings around the sink and rotten window frames, facing a very busy, noisy road, I checked out the next day, prepared to lose money in an overly expensive motel type inn, with a horrible cold buffet breakfast. I was disgusted.

My partner got married in the summer and we had out guest give us money as we both have everything we need. With some of the pennies my wife booked this hotel as part of a Groupon deal as she wanted to visit Windsor Castle. On arrival we were greatest by very helpful staff and was aloud in our room before the official check in time (3pm). We stayed for 2 night and after all the walking around Eton and Windsor we slept pretty well. The following morning we had a great full English breakfast, a very clean plate, no grease, very little fat on the bacon. Lovely a great start to another busy day.On the morning of day 2 we end for breakfast again and clearly someone else was cooking, the breakfast was awful, grease swimming on the plate, lots of fat on the bacon. However the this that shocked me most was that I had cooked some toast and ate this while waiting for breakfast to be severed. Then my partner wanted some toast too so I went back to the basket of sliced bread and placed a slice in the toaster, OMG mould there was visible mould on the bread. What had I eaten before. I felt sick and it put me off my breakfast!Great location in Eton high street but wouldn't want a room at the front of the building as it's a very busy road. Short work to Windsor Castle and the shops. The room was clean but needs some TLC, the finish in the bathroom was "rushed" and plugs sockets moved as you used them. Along with visible old damp patches it could definitely do with a new paint job.The shower screen was not very nice to look at either yes I know it's a old building but cleanliness is key.As we left I gave the receptionist a review about the breakfast and he clearly stated that the head chef cooked the first day and a new chef cooked the following. As for the bread mould he was apologetic but could not compensate as it was a Groupon deal, rubbish! He did say he would sort us out if we came back. NO THANKS! £

I checked into this hotel for a business trip and I was very impressed. The check in was smooth and the gentleman on reception (I think he was called Martin) was extremely accommodating when it came to requests and helping myself and my colleagues out.I was assigned one of the rooms outside of the main house which are almosts like small cottages, which are very spacious and have all the amenities for both a leisure and business trip.I was extremely impressed with the politeness, friendliness and the willingness of the staff, there wasn't one member of staff who was interested in making your stay a positive one.The hotel's breakfast is delicious and I looked forward to going to breakfast every morning, you can choose from a varied cooked or continental breakfast. The hotel also has a bar which offers a wide range of beverages at sensible prices. The location is beautiful, situated on the quintessentially British Eton High Street, which is in walking distance of Windsor Castle and Windsor Town Centre. If I have one criticism is that my room could have done with a lick of paint and there were a few specs of dust but apart from that,it was perfect. Definitely have the potential to move up to a four star. One final person to mention was the gentleman who checked us in (again, I think he was called Martin) who went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable stay. He even started his shift early to make sure we had a smooth check out, thank you!Would love to return to this hotel soon for a personal trip.

Me and my husband booked a 2 night stay through Groupon, the hotel is in an excellent location for visiting Eton and Windsor, the hotel staff were helpful and very polite. The room was an apartment style and reasonably quiet, needs to be redecorated but generally clean, I was a little cold at night and bed wasn't the most comfy. breakfast on the first morning was excellent, lovely poached eggs and no fat on the bacon. The 2nd morning was more like a greasy spoon, fatty bacon plate swimming in grease, I'm sure the beans were just re heated from previous day and when my husband went to make toast it was mouldy, very unpleasant. On check out my husband commented about breakfast and staff were apologetic but offered no reimbursement. With a little tlc this could be a great little hotel.

I visited The Christopher Hotel for brunch during a weekend away in London and it was absolutely fabulous! The food was phenomenal and the decor was stunning. However, the best thing about this restaurant is the service. The staff went out of their way to make our meal enjoyable and our waitress Alessandra even brought out a candle and cake when I told them it was my friends birthday. There are many amazing restaurants in London, but I will visit this one again due to the warm and hospitable staff.

We stayed for one night on a Groupon offer and we're in one of the outside rooms. I have to say I was extremely impressed with the room especially how clean the bathroom was. The room was large and the tea/coffee facilities were laden. Breakfast was a typical full English. Lovely staff.

We only had breakfasts here after our two night stay. Well stocked table with juices, pastries, fruits, cold meats and cheeses. All excellent. We took the full English to test the kitchen and were delighted with the results. The restaurant was quiet as we waited for the business men to eat and leave as we were on a break we slept late.

As I was visiting Windsor I needed somewhere to stay, The Christopher popped up when searching. Called and spoke to a very friendly and helpful member of staff and was booked in. On arrival there was off road parking and greeted in a friendly manner. All the details sorted dumped bags and went into Windsor. Returned late afternoon to the room which was clean, freshly prepared and comfy. Everything was spotless, staff excellent, good location, reasonable rate and lovely breakfast with good selection. Will stay there again on my next visit.

Visited for one night on a Groupon deal - this included breakfast and a glass of pimms on arrival. Very friendly and helpful staff and the location is great. Just a short walk over the river into Windsor town centre. There is a small free car park at the hotel. The only downside is the room was so hot and no fan or air conditioning. Made for a difficult nights sleep.

Booked for 5 nights, I booked online, and called, 3 times, to check that beds were firm and in good condition. The first person hesitated when I asked and that should have been enough but I didn't cancel. The room was filled with furniture that I wouldn't give to a charity shop. The bed was so bad that I had to put the ironing board under the bed or sleep on floor. The floor and skirtings were very dirty, as was the bathroom, which had mildew everywhere, and the bath was filled with jumping bugs! Too big for fleas, I had no idea what they were. I checked out in the morning, having secured a booking at The Christopher Wren Spa Hotel. The night cost me £158 and they refused a discount. The breakfast wasn't worth the bother, overcooked eggs and bacon a working man's cafe wouldn't serve.

This fine hotel is located a short, scenic walk of a couple of hundred meters from Windsor Castle, on the High Street in Eton. The variety of eating places close by will suit any pocket and adds to an already good location. The room we were in was located in a courtyard away from the main building, it was more like a small chalet and, apart from being under the flight path of Heathrow, it was a wonderfully quiet room, good size and facilities. We did have a second bed in the room for our daughter, which was a put-me-up affair, not the most comfortable as I experienced when sleeping on it for one of the nights. The main bed was comfortable though. What made our stay memorable was the staff. So helpful, polite and nothing was too much trouble. The level of customer service was exceptional and was consistent across everyone we had contact with. Will definitely go back.

We visited on a Saturday night after booking through secret escapes, paying £135 for dinner, bed and breakfast. We arrived about 1pm and we're pleased to find that our room was ready for us early. The room itself was very clean, although slightly dated. The double bed was actually two singles pushed together and was slightly on the soft side (depends on personal preference of course). The hotel is a short work into Windsor and is surrounded by antique shops, cafes and restaraunts. An ideal base, especially with free parking at the hotel. In the evening we dined in the restaraunt and had a 3 course meal included in our package. We were pleasantly surprised with the selection, quantity and quality of the food - we had the best Eton mess we have ever tasted! Next morning breakfast was again enjoyable with a selection of continental buffet style options or a cooked breakfast. We would have liked to have been shown to a table but the young girl serving seemed busy with other guests. We had to approach her to ask how breakfast would work, so maybe the information could have been more forthcoming.Throughout our stay the staff could not do enough for us, particularly the front of house and our waiter on the Saturday evening. This is not a luxury hotel but if you are looking for a place to base yourselves and friendly staff, I would greatly recommend it.

I booked this hotel on a dinner bed and breakfast package through secret escapes for last weekend for my Fiance birthday treat. I can honestly say the whole experience was lovely, the hotel staff are beyond friendly, nothing is too much trouble. We had the pleasure of Jonathan looking after us throughout the Saturday and nothing was too much bother. We took a trip to the castle and then headed back to the hotel for around 5pm, we decided to sit in the bar and play scrabble (one of the many games on offer to play with) the staff where really good at ensuring we had everything we needed including a steady flow of drink.I read about the rooms been tired and needing updating, which made me a little nervous, however the character of the rooms actually go with the character of the historic town you are visiting. The bed was so comfy also... it made it hard to leave. We would happily return here for our next visit - Thank you

Invited for a New Year's Day brunch and the St Christopher bar and grill in Eton and this was quite pleasant. The food was nice and hot (as the day was a bit chilly). The portion size was large and it was lucky that we did not plump for the starter as well as the main course! In summary, good food with more than adequate service - no complaints all round...

We have just returned from a two night stay at The Christopher Hotel Eton. Excellent value for money with free parking. Yes the parking is a little tight but it's the only hotel in the area that does not charge. The other Hotels charge between £17 and £30 per night. The staff are friendly. The rooms are spotless and the location is excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. The rooms have wifi ironing boards and irons and hairdryer. Also a very well stocked hospitality tray with lots of water. I cannot fault this place. Thank you to the Christopher Hotel for a very pleasant stay .

Lovely, interesting food served in a relaxed and stylish setting. Crispy and tasty tempura prawns and a delicious special of hake with baby leeks and black beans made for a very satisfying Sunday lunch. The roasts were excellent too. It’s very dog friendly and the service is spot on.

I visted Nandos, Windsor for the very first time on Friday 12/4/24, with my family (x8 of us). I was most impressed with the venue and the attentiveness of the staff in general. We were greeted with a welcoming smile and politeness from Ahsan upon entering and shown to our table after he ensured it was clean and given our menus. Our order was taken by an absolutely welcoming and most professional young lady, named Tasha (Natasha?). She ensured our order and a gluten order was done as requested. She checked in with us to ensure everything was ok and that the food and service was to our satisfaction. She answered any concerns we had regarding the cooking of the gluten food ordered; which was very reassuring. When the food came Flemming ensured the chicken was grilled to perfection and another young man (dark haired, charming) ensured we had our cutlery and enough tissues which was great to have because of my little grandchildren. Upon finishing our delicious meal, the lovely Ruzalia in passing wasted no time in ensuring our table was cleared which was great because it stopped my grandchildren from dipping fingers back into the plates or playing with the cutlery. A great experience was had by all. We enjoyed the meal, the service and the ambience of the venue. Thanks to Tasha for being a great host, alongside her team 🙂 which helps greatly when entering a restaurant for the first time. When next in Windsor, I WOULD definitely visit again. 🙂
