Love it here for drinks. Great atmosphere.

Nice enough spot for a Friday night drink, atmosphere was pleasant and barman was a good one. Better than your average boozer, got a nice little vibe.

A classic experience of a great restaurant starting out. Why five stars? the booking system is not great - we were booked in but could not confirm the tasting menu, so had the tasting plates. A disappointment - No. We had great food, great wine, and great service. The MUshroom ravioli, and the scallops with Nduja were stunning. The wine list is excellent and well priced, and the team running the place really cared. What more can you ask for? The ground floor bar has a policy which is everyone needs to be seated. Great atmosphere and it also means good service. Next time we will do the tasting menu, but tonight we had a great evening, largely own to great tastes, and great service

Quick to give us the bill… slow to give the drinks…. Very confused place really not sure what they are trying to achieve here. Need to make their mind up on which direction they need to go.

Second time back here, this time round we tried the 5 course tasting menu and it didn’t disappoint. What a great way to spend an evening, each course was delicious and was beautifully presented. We had accompanying wine and also some non-alcoholic G&T’s. The Cod Loin was a must have. Can’t thank the staff enough for a great evening and also being so accommodating with our food allergen and providing a wonderful alternative. Great atmosphere as always. Looking forward to coming back already!

A unique venue in Maidenhead - Small plates are delicious and beautifully presented, although portion size isn't amazing. Tasty and varied cocktails, not overly expensive for the great quality. Service is fast and staff are helpful. Only criticism would be to offer a standard water vs the divisive cucumber variant.

This place is absolutely superb! As well an extensive cocktail and wine list they have great beers on tap. We had a couple of sharing plates, the crunchy squid and crab arancini both of which were unbelievably good. They have done such a great job with the ambience and decor. Best bar in Maidenhead by a country mile! Can not wait to try the main restaurant upstairs one weekend.

Excellent wine, gin and cocktail bar. I've been a couple of times and the service (table service) was excellent both times. Fast, friendly and attentive. It's cosy - there's maybe a dozen tables with seating at the bar. In terms of atmosphere there's a nice buzz. There's a big range of gins - I'd guess 30 odd. There's a separate wine menu and a decent choice of whisky, mocktails and other spirits. Worth booking on a Friday or Saturday night.

Con and the team are doing a brilliant job. Wonderful tasting menu with great wines last night. He may have brought one too many (thanks!). Superb value and great atmosphere. Please go and support them 👍

Really enjoyed the tasting menu with matched wines - exceeded our expectations, the food was fantastic! Service was a little slow at first but this was rectified and staff were both professional and friendly.

This is a lovely little spot and I wish there was one in the town I live in! It was laid back, with a lovely small plates and cheese menu. There's a huge drinks selection and it has a lovely atmosphere. Perfect for a catch up with friends or a date night.

Been here a couple times now for drinks and small plates and I love it! Such a nice new spot and exactly what Maidenhead needs. The service is super friendly and prices are not crazy. Especially on their offer days its such good value! Great wine selection, good cocktails and tasty small plates. Happy to have this as a local spot to go to :)

This is the third Sunday evening wine tasting I have enjoyed at The Borough. A fantastic South African meal and wine night was followed by some lovely Spanish surprises concluding with an evening of French tales and treats; great food, good quality wines at reasonable price points, very generous measures, lovely service and atmposphere created by people who care and know their stuff. Fun, informative and tasty. What more could you ask for on a Sunday evening?

Fantastic dinner - we booked for the 6 course library tasting menu, and it was fantastic. Would recommend to anybody!

My favourite bar in Maidenhead. Service, food, drink and ambience all excellent. Highly recommended. 🙂

Maidenhead just found it’s “why”!

Where to start! Had a brilliant experience at this place. Staff very welcoming upon entrance. Ordered 2 cocktails to begin with, unfortunately they realised they didn't have an ingredient for mine so they gave me a complimentary glass of prosecco while the staff went and got the ingredient, for which I was not waiting long at all. We ordered the oysters - delicious, the charcuterie board, for which I asked what meats were what - the server was unsure, a few moments later the chef came out and went through each item. British cheese board and camembert was also lovely. We ordered a carafe of a red wine, barman told us he will check how much they have left. He didn't have a carafe worth so he gave us what was left (2 decent sized glasses) for free. Atmosphere is welcoming and warm, food was impeccable, service was second to none. Definitely worth a visit.

It’s always been a lovely little venue - it’s opened and closed several times over the years and changed its name, currently The Borough. It’s a great pre-dinner venue or a quick drink on the way home. Expensive though and don’t serve crisps or nuts! Wide selection of gins.

The guys that run this place are really friendly and down to earth. And they know their drinks well. If you read this review please don't be put off by the prices it's worth the vist 👍

I absolutely love The Borough, its exactly what Maidenhead has needed. The drinks selection is amazing, the food is some of the best I have ever tried. They are fantastic with dietary requirements. My mum is pescatarian celiac. We emailed ahead of time to see if there was anything she could have and they were so helpful and the chef even made new dishes especially for her. The staff are all so friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere is great anytime I've been in. I particularly like when they have the cover artist on the guitar. I couldn't recommend it enough!

A truly unique establishment that Maidenhead has been needing for a long time. Classy and refined without being stuffy. A step above the rest. We had some drinks and bar snacks and we will be back again and again.

Nice bar with a good selection of wines, whiskeys, drinks and more. The food is delicious, they are small plates to snack on. The service is excellent, from providing guidance on which wine to choose according to each person's tastes. Your recommendation is 100% correct. On Tuesdays they have wines up to £45 at 50% off and on Wednesdays the food is 50% off. Super recommended.

Lovely evening with a fab wine list. Just picky bits for food but tasty and all we needed. Would highly recommend.

THE BEST BAR IN MAIDENHEAD! I was staying in Maidenhead for work prior to moving back to Germany and the owners here truly made me feel welcome! Kind, courteous, engage with their customers and excellent service both with the incredible food and drinks. The live music each week and the general ambience is fantastic! Cannot recommend this place enough!

What a great place to go to in Maidenhead. We have been for drinks a couple of times but last Saturday we joined a Sicilian wine tasting. 6 wines were successfully tasted and enjoyed and we were served a three course sharing supper to go with them. Thank you so much to the very knowledgeable team for a fantastic night. Hopefully there are more wine tastings coming soon!

A great addition to the Maidenhead food & wine scene. Finally a bar with a decent wine list, and regular tasting events. I have been to both their events so far, and can only say that there's perhaps too much wine! Con and Jacob know their locals and provide great service. Great value, especially the Tuesday night wine deals with half price bottles

Fantastic evening, great local find, we had quite a few small plates off the menu, which was a great way to try everything…the beef croquettes and Red Pepper Hummus and pitta were personal favourites. Definitely recommend a cocktail or two, plenty to choose from with great variety. Thanks for a lovely evening, great service and atmosphere tonight with some live music, we’ll be back soon

We visited here for a drink before going elsewhere for a meal. The drinks menu is extensive with very informative descriptions for every drink. The selection of wine was excellent and the service throughout was attentive but not intrusive. The food menu looked great and we were nearly tempted to ditch our booking at the other restaurant and eat there! Great experience overall and I would highly recommend!

Found this little gem wandering round town and so glad we did. We had the best cheese & biscuits ever, no less than 6 cheeses to sample all deliciously accompanied by the perfect ratio of biscuits and gorgeous crunchy pickles (I would have been happy just eating the pickles) we also had their yummy Houmous and breads, all washed down with their tasty wine. Best lunch I’ve had in a long time. Staff attentive and helpful and the place was spotless. Wonderful. We will definitely return when we are in the area.

Brilliant new wine and cocktail bar in Maidenhead. The drinks are excellent, high quality and have a great selection. The wine list has some great choices and is very fairly priced. The food is amazing too with clear thought and passion having gone in to the small plates menu.

Great new addition to Maidenhead town centre. Extensive list of wine and cocktails. We only tried one of the small plates - very tasty beef brisket croquettes - as we already had a dinner reservation elsewhere. Looking forward to going back to try more of the dishes and wine on offer!

It was my first time visiting the Borough last night and we had wonderful evening. We ordered a selection of small plates and a cheese board to share and it was delicious. It went down very well with the lovely wine ordered. We felt it was reasonably priced. The service was great and the place has been done out lovely. We will be returning and glad to have this on the door step.
