The Corner House in Windsor and Maidenhead

We were on a walk in Windsor and decided to pop in here for a drink and bite to eat. The beer section is very nice and the food was delicious! We had the Big Corner and Classic burgers, both really good 👍🏻 The burgers were home made, buns were light and fresh and the chips were nicely cooked and hot. The staff are friendly and local dogs visiting with regulars seem really cute and well behaved. Thank you for having us, we will be back xx

Absolutely awful. We were going to eat here but decided just to have a drink and left to find somewhere else. There was a dog on the bar licking the drip trays which the bar staff were stroking and almost encouraging. The tables were beyond sticky and everything felt really dirty. The toilets were absolutely awful - have a look at the photos. Beyond disgusting.

Take my word for it, a place could not be run any worse than here. I am a Windsor local and unfortunately have had to come to a couple of private parties held in the upstairs room they have. I have also been a few times to watch sport with friends and I can safely say I would give every aspect a rating 0/10. Service is appalling, slow and miserable. Bar staff have no memory of who is next and I waited 20 mins to be served even when it was not particularly busy. They always complain they are under staffed but it’s the same every time I go. The bar upstairs even when busy has ONE bar person and they are slow. They keep running out of ice and disappear for 5 mins at a time leaving no one to serve the queues of people only to come back with a small bucket of ice that lasts about 10 mins. I ordered 3 double vodkas and tonic and they served me them WARM with no ice and made no apology. The whole place had run out of ice by 9pm! It was the possible worst drink I’ve been served in a pub in my whole life and they charged me £12 each for them. Warm and flat. I couldn’t even drink it. There was no pot wash. So there were hundreds of glasses littered around the place, some smashed and broken glass on the floor for hours. The place looked like bomb had gone off it was so messy. The place is dirty everywhere, it smells of deep fat fryer from the kitchen and I left with all my clothes smelling horrible. The toilets are disgusting, filthy and smelly and no toilet paper or hand soap! That experience was not a one off which is why I’m compelled to write this message as the prices they charge for what you get is criminal.

We we’re dropping a friend back to Heathrow after 3 days at Wimbledon., before travelling to plymouth. Great stop, Great staff, lovely food. Made us so welcome, gave us a booth to watch Wimbledon. Thank you so much all. Did everything they could to make us welcome

The food and drinks were ok. We were getting our food to go and they could not provide any condiments. We ordered a burger plain and it came with everything on it. The fish and chips were ok and the burger had too much bread crumbs mixed in. Nothing special about this place - ok service. This place probably caters to the local crowd than those visiting. Not recommended.

Food was disgusting and highly inflated ! I was handed 4 clearly burnt goujons when I queried it I was told it was seasoning!! - fries never arrive despite a reminder- requested a refund £4 was given no apology no acknowledgement! The ‘chef’ must have called in sick! . You should not be serving food like this let alone charging the high prices! Embarrassing ! Thank god for the vodka ! Maybe stick to the alcohol! The picture actually does it justice !

Fantastic service and great portions! They didn't have 2 things we wanted on the menu but the food and drink we did order were great! Filling and delicious! The staff were super friendly and helpful.

Came here with my friend for a drink and food. We were able to order from the 50% Mon-Fri daytime offer and we're really impressed with our spicy meat feast pizza and Miso chicken burger. Service was relaxed and friendly. Definitely recommend it and definitely coming back.

We rented the upstairs room for a corporate event. The food was good, the staff very accommodating and the games a big hit with our guests. They were also able to provide vegan alternatives to order on the night which was most appreciated.

They charged £6.80 a pint for Moretti, absolutely disgusting. Worked out about an extra 5-8 pounds extra a round. Local prices range from £5.20 to £5.90 and there are plenty of those places nearby!

A mixed bag. First of all the positives, friendly staff, good beer selection and nice roast. The negatives are the beer was £7 a pint not for an imported beer but for one from down the road in Ascot. Also the toilets were absolutely disgusting and the smell was vile.

Came here with some friends to have some good food and enjoy a fine lunch. I was blocked when trying to enter and we came to realize that the pub was empty and there were plenty of seats available upstairs. A piece of advice to everyone, go to somewhere where customers come first.

We had an absolutely shocking experience today at this place ! This is not the first time we've been there wheither for a drink or a meal , and we've chosen this place because we love it . Turns out today was the last time we will be eating in there . We've ordered and payed for the food at the bar and were warned that the food waiting is a half an hour which we haven't had any oroblem with as it's NYD and we weren't rushing anywhere . After half an hour the girl came to our table to tell us that there is a delay on food. We were already waiting for more than half an hour with 4 year old who was getting inpatient. So after an hour or so surprice surproce our food arrived . My chicken burger was literally brown from overburbed, the chips were cold my otherhalf's burger was burned and wrong burger . We just took the food back, we were refunded and left . Such an dissapoiyment to waste such time in there. Another thing the staff seemed to be kind and appologetic but they couldn't manage even to serve the drinksat the bar. I waited for my second round for 10 minutes and I gave up . The table next to us complained heavily as well , it was just not what it use to be . Another dissapoitment were the ladies ! I've never seen such shockingly dirty toilets !!!! This pub use to be a gem in town. Management and Landlord please pay attention before you loose all your customers ! Clean your chairs from stains , tables are sticky and the place oddly stank of piss 😞. Not a good sign for a pub in a middle of town that use to be the place to go !!!!

I understand covid effecting pubs but this pub is not helping themselves. We ordered food via the app selected our table - all simple. Chased the food up and said it was 10 mins away, then told that the food app isn’t working anymore and our food hadn’t been ordered despite taking my money and confirming via email that order placed. I have to thank both Jake's and Shannon L for looking after us when we come in for lunch. Everything was explained on arrival and clear social distancing with hand sanitizers place around the pub. Lunch was excellent and it was nice to learn that they are self funding the eat out scheme through September..

My family and i had the best time at this venue, we felt very welcomed by the staff Shannon and Jake who were very friendly and did everything in their best efforts to make sure we had everything we needed whilst we were there, they were also very accommodating around my 5 year old who is quite a fussy eater. The pub had a brilliant selection of ales and pales for my husband and being a gin drinker i was very impressed with their selection of gins too! the place was very clearly set for Covid-19 restrictions with their online service and hand sanitizers dotted around, and we felt very safe and socially distanced from other customers. Food was pleasant and atmosphere was great! we will 100% be returning!

We ate here on our first night in Windsor. The staff are a credit to the pub and they are very welcoming and friendly. We popped in first for a drink & then returned later to eat. The ales they have are mainly pale ales with a good selection of various ciders & they were keen for me to taste them to get one to suit which was a very nice touch. The food, we had a shared starter of calamari, my husband the beef brisket & I had a fillet steak was all very nice and served quickly and efficiently. A good solid choice.

It’s been a year since I last reviewed the Corner House, let’s see if anything has changed. New Manager Jake has maintained the previous high standards, if possible maybe even improved. Still offering a sensational selection of Ale and Cider with an ever growing offering of Gin. New food menu is superb and pleased to see Sunday lunch still offered and remains outstanding. Friendliest staff in town who seem to work together brilliantly as a team, always offering a welcoming smile. They welcome people and dogs with open arms, free biscuits for the pooch and always a doggie bag after Sunday lunch!

What a pub this is. Located in the heart of Windsor. The corner house has a drink for everyone. For me as a huge fan of beer, I noted their canny selection of local ales and craft beer from around the area.The staff were lovely and notably a male member of staff stood out who was really knowledgeable about his beers. Very good prices for some really good beers. This pub should definitely be on the radar for beer drinkers alike.

Came for a Sunday lunch as a group of 4. Ordered 2 beef and 2 lamb roasts. Huge portions, meat was tender, amazing fresh veg, massive Yorkshires and a very generous amount of gravy. Love trying different Sunday roasts and this was by far our favourite. Staff were so friendly and helpful, felt safe and everyone was distanced, easy to order food via the app and really quick service. Really reasonable drink prices as well for the area. AMAZING!

Our group have been coming here for a while now as it’s such a convenient place to meet from all parts of London and beyond. We again booked, this time a table of 14 for Sunday lunch, and yet again the team couldn’t have been more helpful. Great food, with plenty of it, and interesting beers and lagers as well. Unfortunately it’s lack of ideal position is not made up for its lack of ideal menu! What should be an excellent little hidden gem turns out to be nothing more than average! Lunch time menu was largely unavailable at the time of writing with many items seemingly not in stock or more mysteriously unknown about by staff members who at first seem interested in helping but quickly loose interest! Music is loud and rather unnecessary considering the size of the place and there is little in terms of decor to make you feel welcome or snug! Aparecimos y sí, la mesa estaba muy bien con galletas navideñas y una decoración de mesa muy navideña. Nos dijeron que estábamos fuera de la mesa, una vez que llegamos a la mesa nos llevó unos 15 minutos que alguien viniera a tomar nuestro pedido de bebidas.Los entrantes se sirvió en breve y de nosotros en la mesa fue una crítica mixta, la tarta estaba bien, pero todo lo demás estaba fuera de lata o apresurado. Después de terminar los entrantes, los platos principales tardaron 45 minutos en servir y cuando lo hicieron dos personas en nuestra mesa obtuvieron 10 minutos después de todos los demás. We visited Windsor from Indianapolis, IN with some great friends. We were staying at the Royal Adelaide just down the road from The Corner Ale & Cider House. We ended up going to the upstairs bar and roof terrace and met a lovely bartender named Shannon. She taught us all about gin (not a huge gin market currently in our area) and we have continued to drink it since getting back to the states. Service was fantastic, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was top notch. We are looking forward to another visit very soon!

Great, fantastic PUB with and extraordinary selection of beer and a great menu. We had a great meat plate for starter, with pork ribs, chicken stripes, chicken wings everything was incredible. On Thursday they had “Steak Dinner” which is a great value for you money.

Can't get through to book a table for 6:15pm this evening. I have also emailed but not heard back from anyone

I brought my mum here on a Thursday to have the fillet steak and wine deal. As always, the food was delicious! The wine was room temperature and good choice for the £15.99 deal.

We called in for a spot of lunch on a Friday afternoon. The staff were all friendly and welcoming!

This is a lovely pub/restaurant. Warm welcome and attentive staff. There is a large selection of drinks to choose from. Upstairs is a lovely open dining area with bar. The food here is amazing! All at such a reasonable price. There is the bonus of a heated roof terrace, which is popular in summer. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be back next time in in Windsor.

Went to the corner house for a roast with my family on Sunday evening, have to say that although the range of beers is impressive and the bar staff knowledgeable on the selection our experience was ruined by waiting 40 minutes for our main courses and a further 20 minutes for our desserts. The chef had run out of our first choice of dessert so we changed our order only to be told by the waitress that they had run out of toffee pudding as well. My daughter commented how she heard a chef shouting and swearing at a barman when she went to the toilet. All in all very disappointing and won’t be returning which is a shame as it’s by far the best beer range in Windsor.

Visited with a group of colleagues, 6 in all, food was all excellent however quite slow in arriving, it was explained that they had become quite busy and had only one chef on duty. We were upstairs in the external area that was good for a warm evening. Great selection of ales and beers to try, and we did! Visited Windsor Castle and found this pub slighly off the main road. The service was very good as was the beer and food. We ate the fish and chips. Bartender was very friendly.

Pete and the team here seem to manage the impossible - pull together one of the best rotating beer and cider menus I have ever seen, keep a superb wine list AND continually produce some of the best pub food I have ever eaten....did I mention the gin selection?

This place had the best selection of beers of all the pubs we visited on our trip to England. My husband and I came here for lunch (food was very good) and a beer and ended up coming back later the same day for another pint. If you enjoy craft beer, go here.

I called before turning up to ask if they could accommodate a party of 7 of us to eat. I was told they could seat us in half hour. Perfect, so we made our way there. When we arrived they said they had tried to call to say they couldn’t accommodate us but don’t leave because we may be able to get u seated soon?? Weird! You either can or you can’t? But having eaten here before and having relatively good experiences I thought we would have a drink and wait. About 20 mins later the girl came and said she had a table for us. Ok so up we go. As we sit down my mum and sister arrive having just finished work, not wanting to eat but just sit and have a drink with us before our food came, we found 2 spare chairs and placed them on the end. What a mistake this turned out to be!!! First of all the girl comes over and says you only booked for 7 people, we won’t be able to fit more plates on the table to which I explained the extra 2 wouldn’t be eating. Then this boy/man comes over and says I’m sorry but u only booked for 7 people so the extra people have to leave!!!! I literally couldn’t believe what I was hearing!! So again I explained they are only having a drink to which he replied “we can’t spare the furniture” - what? The 2 chairs which were in a corner spare? What about all the chairs around that empty table over there? Nope he was having none of it!!! Feeling really embarrassed my mum and sister say they will leave. I still can’t believe or fathom this persons logic at what he was doing but there was no way I would let my mum and sister leave like that so we all got up and left!!!! I’m so completely gutted that we were treated like this! I literally can not understand the logic or how it was such a big deal for them? So a whole table of 7 people left because they couldn’t spare 2 chairs ‍♀️absolutely baffling!!! We eat out in Windsor all of the time but will now completely avoid this place.

The Corner House is located on the corner of Sheet Street and Victoria Street, a short walk just away from the centre of Windsor.

The food is very tasty, the personnel friendly, the surroundings are comfortable, and the beer and cider offering is super. We had simply the best lunch after trekking around for a few hours at Windsor Castle. Family friendly.

Was introduced to this fantastic pub a couple of weeks back. The staff were more than helpful when it came to choosing from the huge selection of beers. We ended up staying a lot longer than anticipated due to the brilliant atmosphere, friendly people both sides of the bar and a real pleasure to meet Pete the landlord who was clearly passionate about every aspect of his pub and making it the best it can possibly be (you've done it mate, now pour yourself a hard earned drink)

Came in for a taste of one of their many coders on Tuesday afternoon.. decided to stay for some food.

Came in for a drink and a bite to eat. We went for the Ribs & Wings Tuesday deal. I kid you not, the meat fell off the bone on the ribs and the wings, I’d highly recommend. New favourite place to eat now 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
