Lovely pub, great service and generally OK food. Some 5 star dishes around the table, but my pork roast was dry and tough.

Here for the New Years tonight and it is such an amazing experience. The food is like Michelin star quality and the staff are so friendly and so sweet! Highly recommended!

Gastropub indeed. The minute we walked in, we felt the buzz. Took my in-laws for dinner, and the place didn't disappoint. The venison was perfect with no hint of chewiness. The beef Wellington was superb, and that sauce is perfect. To seal the deal, we sampled all the puddings; you can't go wrong with any. We averaged 70 quids per person with one bottle of reasonable wine consumed. Highly recommended.

We have been here this lunchtime for a family meal to celebrate Christmas. The pub is lovely and so were the staff. Our table I knew would be tight for four adults and two teenage children but we were not aware that it was right next to the door making us cold every time it was opened. We all enjoyed our Sunday lunch with good sized portions and great tasting food. The roast beef was cooked exactly as I like quite rare, When one of our party asked for some more gravy we were told that there was a charge. This surprised me and even more so when I read my bill the charge was £4. For a little jug of gravy this seemed rather steep. This being said it would not put us off going again but made me aware of a few things to remember.

We recently held our work Christmas lunch at The Belgian Arms and I can't praise it enough. It's such a warm and cosy pub and looked great with all the Christmas decorations. The staff were so professional and friendly and the food was incredible. Special shout out for the gluten and dairy free sticky toffee pudding which is the best I've ever had, including ones with gluten and dairy! Would highly recommend the pub.

We had a work Christmas lunch there, just four of us on a Wednesday lunchtime. The food was delicious, nicely cooked and presented; the portion sizes were just right - not excessive. It is nicely decorated and has a homely feel. Nice to see there is a pub area as well. I’ve been wanting to go here for a long time, but never got the opportunity. We will definitely go again.

Had such amazing food and great service! My family and I are visiting from the US and wanted to try traditional English food so we ordered the shared hot plate, Venison, beef Wellington and potato gratin. Everything tasted delicious, props to the chef and kind staff!

We had an amazing meal last night for our anniversary. We loved the Beef Wellington and Sticky Toffee Pudding! Our Waiter, Luke, was really nice and very helpful! Highly recommend!

We attended for Sunday lunch. Service was speedy and amenable, especially for such a young team, no complaints there at all. Also was nice inside and very warm & welcoming, befitting of a rustic English country pub. The roast is on the expensive side but pretty much lived up to it. Only issue on my side is perhaps a little more gravy and my partner said the topside beef was a bit chewy. Still very enjoyable though Overall very positive experience !

Thank you to the team at the Belgian Arms for a lovely lunch on the 16th Nov. When making the booking, we asked for a quiet table as one of our party was 94 with hearing issues. When we arrived, the restaurant manager who greeted us talked straight away about our preference. He had set a quiet table aside but that area had become busy so he offered us a lovely table in the conservatory which totally allowed for all to hear the conversation. The service was excellent with attention to detail and helpful suggestions. The food was outstanding and hearing about the about of effort that went into producing the jus for the venison was lovely to hear. We all had a lovely time. Thank you for being so inclusive and thoughtful for such a mixed family group. It is clear that the customer experience is at the heart of your business, thanks again.

We had a wonderful time at the pub for my Dad’s wake. It was the perfect venue and the food was wonderful.

This restaurant blew my socks off! I was there with 3 other friends and no one had any complaints. They had plenty of Gluten Free options for my friend as well as good Guinness. The steaks looked amazing and my chicken was very moist and tender (maybe too much garlic). The scotch egg was arguably the show stopper - we got two for the table and everyone was blown away 10/10 would order again. The STP (sticky toffee pudding) was stupendous. Really jaw dropping and the gluten free version was also a crowd pleaser. Will be back and thank you for a great meal.

A wonderful pub serving top notch pub food. The steak was amazing (they obviously have a proper chef in the kitchen!) beautiful atmosphere, lovely engaging staff, beautiful setting in a lovely Berkshire village. Bravo.

This was a spontaneous late lunch with a friend and wow was it a super pleasant experience! The staff were fantastic and really professional and gave us a warm welcome. The chef is clearly highly skilled as the lunch was one of my best pub experiences in the area! Thank you very much and I’ll be back very soon.

Superb Sunday Lunch! Hadn't booked so were really lucky to get a table. From the moment we arrived, the lovely warm and friendly atmosphere hit us - from the attentive and courteous waiting staff, to the Manager - it was faultless. We both went for the Slow cooked Pork Sunday Roast with all the trimmings/extras - melt in the mouth, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented - incredibly generous portions. Puddings were equally delicious. We were first time visitors to The Belgian Arms - but have every intention of making this a regular Sunday treat. Just fantastic.

This is my go to for a Sunday roast. The quality of the food is outstanding and the staff are always really friendly and welcoming. I just can’t fault it. Cauliflower cheese to to die for!

The best Sunday roast I've had in a really long time. Everything was delicious, especially the cauliflower cheese. Kids fish and chips were generous portions. We didn't need pudding but glad we went for it, the sticky toffee pud was perfect. Staff were all over it on a busy Sunday and really kind to our very chatty toddlers.

We had booked this pub for a birthday lunch for our son. Unfortunately, due to roadworks, we were running 10 minutes late. We called the venue to let them know that we would be a little late and we were told that the table would be needed 1 hour and 3/4 after the time of our original booking. We do not recall ever being allocated a table for less than 2 hours but we said that it would be fine if the service was not too slow. Unfortunately, the service was slow, very slow. When desert menus were finally brought to our table, our waitress made us feel like it would be inconvenient if we ordered deserts so we felt that we had no choice but to cut our meal short. Please note that the reason we did not finish our mains earlier was the slow service, not our lateness. The scoth eggs were delicious but, sadly, after this experience, we will not be coming back.

Visited with a friend on September 30th. for a beer and a ‘catch up’. Excellent beer and a very attractive pub but disappointed not to see a lunchtime sandwich menu. Decided to have the two course meal for the set price of £25. The soup was superb but the fish and chips very disappointing. Either the batter or fish undercooked but both of us were queezy and unwell in the evening. To add insult to injury I checked the bill later and found that we had been charged the full menu price for each course rather than the 2 for £25. Our first visit……and perhaps our last!

Can't really fault it. Tiny bit pricey but I guess eating out is generally pricey today. Very good food, beautifully cooked, good service. I'll definitely be back when I'm feeling a bit flush 😀

I popped in for a Sunday roast. The scotch egg to start was flavour packed with a runny yolk and the beer was good. I had the roast beef with all the trimmings and it was really tender and from the local farm. Service was excellent and it’s wheel chair friendly.

This is our family go to place for Sunday lunch. I have a small appetite so I have a children’s roast which is a perfect size for me. A bit pricey but worth it. Nice service too.

We came here for the first time for my partner’s birthday and had an absolutely amazing dinner. Everything was superb, the cheese soufflé was the standout item amongst a meal of delicious dishes. The cocktails and wine selection were great too. The pub itself is cosy, beautifully decorated and the service was exceptional. The manager was very welcoming and clearly passionate about food! Hands down the best gastropub within a significant radius and we are already planning a return visit!

Food was excellent. Service was spot on. The only thing was when coming to pay the bill. There was 5 of us, lunch time, 4 of us had our lunch from the set the lunch time menu, 2 for £25, 3 for 30, 3 had the 2 for £25 1 had the 3 for 30 the bill did not reflect this and wanted to over charge us on the 3 for £30 by over £6.00. The manager had to take over on trying to sort this out as she didn't really believe us, personally we believe that their system couldn't work it out. She had to just give us a managers discount in the end as she couldn't work it out.

Just had a lovely Sunday Roast at the Belgian Arms. We’ve been going here since we moved to Maidenhead seven years ago, and we’ve never had a bad meal. Staff are great. Friendly, welcoming and know their stuff. Locally it’s one of the top places we’ve been to, and priced well for what you get.

My companion, who required a gluten-free option, was equally pleased with the alternative bread provided—attentive service that didn’t go unnoticed. We sat outside, under sunshade umbrellas. The grass bit overlooks a small but beautiful pond with ducklings swimming around. Speedy service and helpful hosts.

I had three courses here. Service was brilliant and the food was great. Three courses for £30. I don’t live local but wish I did. Outstanding!

Lunch with friends - we are local so have a number of nice pubs / restaurants in Bray or Holyport to choose from . We have used the Belgian Arms on and off for 30 years and seen many changes . The current owners provide a welcoming atmosphere with well cooked and reasonably priced menus . Plenty of seats inside and is dog friendly in one are or in the garden

What a hidden gem. I have been before but got recommended to go for the fish and chips. Service was amazing even whilst they were fairly busy on a hot day with the garden full. Service was a genuine 12/10 and food 10/10. Try it out and be your own judge.

We chose this as the venue for our wedding reception and didn't regret it. A fantastic restaurant, with top notch food and staff. They made it a wonderful day, and I can't wait to come back for another special occasion.

A pub which does it all. Beautiful indoor decor with a wide range of tasty beers and snacks alongside a capacious and gorgeous outside veranda which benefits from evening sun. Well worth a trip and a pint if you're ever in the area and tempted. Service is very good as well!

Lovely country pub, good variety of real ales, obliging staff, ample parking and seating, the Sunday roast was one of the best.

We usually go for the Sunday roast bur we had our grandson to stay and he wanted to go again as it’s his favourite place in the Maidenhead area. He was not disappointed as he said his fish and chips from the children’s menu was the best he had ever had. My choice was not so good but it was hard to choose because of an allergy I have. Service was slow to start but they were quite busy. It took sometime to bring our drinks which we had not experienced before. Still one of our favourite places in the area.

What a gem! Lovely pub/restaurant with great menu with plenty of choice. Always looking for good places to meet a friend for lunch without having to travel too far & this suited both of us. Opted for 2 starters & the photo is of the cheese souffle, which was out of this world! Would definitely recommend souffle & venue!

Lovely country pub nestled into the countryside. A little bit pokey in the side but lots of l outside seating, from memory the food was very good although it could have done with a little more seasoning. Really good selection of drinks and specifically gins. Well worth a visit!

I have been to the Belgian Arms many times over the years and without fail the food, service, ambience has been consistently outstanding . My partner & I had lunch in the gorgeous patio on Sunday 2nd August after having moved away and now returned and everything is still fantastic !! I would highly recommend this pub /restaurant & will be booking again soon . Well Done to all at the Belgian Arms !!

Lovely locals pub in Holyport. Been a few times now, food is excellent and a nice range of ales and bar snacks. Great service as well.

I googled gastropubs in the area and this one came up as the number one! And my goodness they have not disappointed us! It’s worth the drive in from London. Wonderful food (the cauliflower cheese is next level!) , fantastic service and reasonably priced. Will definitely be coming back!

Couldn't fault any of the food or service! Every single bite I had was so good, the food had so much flavour, you can tell the food is fresh and cooked to order. What a wonderful find. My son and I popped in for lunch and we were very impressed. Superb service from all the staff. We both ordered Beef and Guiness pie which was sublime - every chunk of meat was tender and tasty - and the potato gratin we ordered as a side was wonderful. Outstanding food, service and ambience. Now firmly on our shortlist of best pubs for lunch - anywhere.

The restaurant was great me and my family loved the fish and chips. The Waiter was excellent, I really recommend this restaurant.

I had heard good things. But the night 5 of us went there to eat. 3 of us had fish and chips which was absolutely awful. Chips were like bricks and looked more like roast potatoes in size and running in fat that you could taste it all 3 meals were not eaten. Friends Steak was not done how she asked and had to be sent back. Then we waited 45 mins for deserts 3 of us again had the crumble couldnt eat it apple was hard and crumble was like cement no juice in crumble at all. 4 had starters scotch egg which they did enjoy. The mangeress was lovely couldnt apologise enough.

Smoked salmon, scotch eggs, fish and chips, burgers between us and all top notch. Very very very friendly service both behind the bar and at the table. Lovely location and look forward to visiting again.

We were there on Burns night so it may have been busier than a normal Thursday. The staff and food were great. It's probably more a restaurant than a pub these days and the food was more expensive than our usual Thursday place although it was judged better too. They were also happy for us to bring our own birthday cake. There's a big garden by the pond for the summer when it arrives

It was an okay steak but for £25 with some just some okay chips and a strong green garlic paste on top. Not really worth it. In my view.

Lovely meal at The Belgian Arms. I haven't been here for about a year and the quality of the menu has definitely been improved in. We will definitely be back .... soon!

Had a lovely lunch here today. A very nice pub with lovely Brakspear beers on tap and an exceptional menu. A log fire in the bar area kept things nice and warm. Furnishings were comfortable and there was plenty of space. Everything was prepared well and tasted great. The Venison shank literally fell off the bone and melted in my mouth. The sauce provided was a great touch and elevated the dish (would have liked more though;-)). The staff were attentive and friendly throughout. I will be back.

A wonderful dog-friendly place with excellent food. Staff are very welcoming and have a great affinity for pets. The Sunday roasts are just amazing.

Fantastic food but the evening was let down by the constant reminders that the Bar closes at 11 and we would need to leave the pub. This started at 10.30 and we had reminders every 10 minutes. We felt pushed out and this spoilt the whole evening. Forced to leave the premises at 11pm, totally unacceptable.

Just having moved to Holyport, we were eager to try out this highly rated gastro pub - and we were not disappointed. Best food we've had since end of last year in Sweden. Bavette steak is one of my secret favourites, and this was cooked to perfection. I won't even mention the amazing chocolate fondant with the mouthwatering peppermint ice cream ... Service outstanding, greatest place we've been to in a very long time. Consider us your new regulars 🥰

Popped in for a few drinks, lovely pub , staff and atmosphere

We came here for a birthday treat for my dad and was really impressed. All the food we all ordered was of good, fresh quality and came in good time. Nice portion sizes as well for the money. About right I would say. Staff were attentive and went that little bit extra if needed. Would be happy to go back anytime.

Visited for Sunday lunch with my sister and a friend. I have been here a while ago before Covid and thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday lunch then so was hopping it hadn't changed. I was not disappointed we all had the roast beef and it was delicious!!! Managed to squeeze in a pear & apple crumble after. (it was a squeeze as it was a large portion....not a bad thing!) My sister also had crumble and said we should have shared on. Our friend opted for cheese but she is a bit fussy so was offered an alternative to menu choice....She said it was lovely. The staff were very helpful and friendly especially our South African server. I will be returning very soon.
