The best restaurants serving Default food in Wealden South East

Booked online even though previous reviews were not overly positive. However, it exceeded our expectations and provided very good value for money. Check in was straightforward and we went to our room. Although it would have benefited from a really deep clean, it was pretty clean. The beds were comfortable and the en-suite had all we needed. The room was quiet and we slept well. We had booked breakfast the night before as it was cheaper to do this. There was a very good selection and we were well looked after by Fraser. The hot good was very good. We did the same for the next breakfast but we’re overcharged. I pointed it out and suggested they put the extra in the charity box. All in all a very good stay and we would certainly return there. To be fair, except for the deep clean and overcharge, it would have been 5 stars.

After a walk around Sheffield Park we went into the Coach House Tea Rooms for some drinks and a snack.- A limited Choice Both of which were Okay, but nothing more and a little overpriced but it served our purpose

My wife went to Alfriston for a walk and a light lunch and we tried the Smugglers Inn at 1.15 pm on Sunday 2nd February. After a walk to the Church and back I ordered Americano coffees and the soup of the day plus the pate on toast. Both started were wonderful. I congratulated the Chef on the soup which was parsnip, carrot and other root vegetables served with warm artesian bread. The whole meal only came to £24. I definitely will come again.

Dreadful experience order the food at 6:20 pm yesterday it got delayed to 7:35 pm. We called the restaurant say the food was coming it got to 8:30 pm and still no order and no food delivered do not order from this place warning

Nice food doner kebabs are great sizes meat could be cut thinner..overall good experience

Honestly I feel so bad because I ordered food at 22:55… five minutes before they closed but I am actually drunk and hungry you know how it is and this is what im craving so I wanted to give a 5 star review because I feel so bad so thank you for making my evening dominos xxx

update 2025; This is now very much a run-of-the-mill garden centre cafe, which is such a crying shame as it was SO special when Spade and Spoon ran it in the old (pre-fire) building. We used to drive miles out of our way to pop in for their extraordinary cakes and proper barista coffee. It was very hard to find that level of excellence outside of city centre fancy cafes. Cecil's kitchen is perfectly fine but the menu, food, service and experience is very canteen like. Hard not to be disappointed now we know what we're missing!

When I went to the Tudor bar the outside of the venue was very beautiful, when I walked in with my classmates and my teacher our table was set up amazingly the Tea, Coffee and scones were really nice!!! I'd go there again

Food was slow getting to us!! Ordered a specific meal for my son, so that he could have the limited toy unfortunately the toy didn't get included in the meal when brought out to the car also food missing from what was ordered!! Unfortunately as the premises was busy with other orders the staff do not seem to pay attention to what the order needs to be completed

Very average food i cook better at home. No effort was made to please. everything seemed too much trouble.service and atmosphere very bad.wont be returning

Perfect food, made on time loved it all, I always collect and it's always ready.absoluty delicious food the special curry is amazing as is the chicken and pork Chinese style

Ordered a takeaway an hour in advance. Half an hour after and still no kebab. 2 telephone calls later we cancelled! Don't bother!! Go elsewhere

Sadly still waiting for my refund after them asking me to email them my details that I did 5 weeks ago
