Lovely visit this week for refreshments. Tempted by fruit scones. Have to say they were the best scones I have had for a very long time - I remarked they were equal to the scones I had at the Ritz!! Lovely cafe and garden - well worth a visit!

This beautiful, beautiful village of Alfriston is home to Badger’s Teahouse. The venue is centrally located and close to the car parks. The service is efficient and timely. I enjoyed a healthy croissant @ £9 followed by the requisite cream scone @£5 served in an artisanal trug .

Very nice location. We had to wait quite a while for our lunch. I ordered scrambled egg on toast, which was very runny. Now, some people like it that way, but I don't. The easy solution is to ask the customer how they would like the dish before preparing it. They did offer to make another one, but as we were pressed for time, I declined. They don't take feedback well seeing it as a discourtesy. My wife went back for her hat and felt lectured to by the proprietor on this point.

What a wonderful, pleasantly surprising experience we had on a Saturday afternoon during our trip to Seven Sisters. What a lovely place it is. Upon arrival we have been greeted and welcome by a pleasant young lady and later on have been greeted by a gentlemen (Probably the owner) too who was kind enough to come to our table and had a casual chat. He also kindly recommended us the cake of the day which was delightful and fresh. We also tried the cream tea and it was lovely with scones served with jam and clotted cream. Not to forget the little, beautiful outdoor courtyard was beautiful and peaceful. The Gentleman also gave us few recommendations as we were not local to the area including a visit to the Vineyards which were amazing. I would highly recommend coming to this place its only a 10 minute drive from seven sisters cliffs.

So charming with exquisite food - the maple crispy pancetta sandwich with chilli jam was on its own elevated level of deliciousness - served on fine china with silver teapots and jugs of milk. We found this little place while away for a few days and what an amazing find. As we went to go in we had the warmest of welcome’s from a gentleman who I’m guessing was the owner. We were given a table tucked away in the corner, the room was quirky and beautifully set up. We ordered a latte and a mocha, a bacon sandwich and scrambled eggs on toast. The drinks were lovely with a little extra touch of edible flowers on them. The food was delicious probably some of the best breakfast I have ever had. It was all cooked beautifully , tasted amazing, and presented well. Although this place is tiny at no point did we ever feel rushed definitely a place we would visit again.

Too picture postcard for words! The whole village is lovely and there are lots of places to eat but it was such a beautiful day we opted for The Badger and sat in the pleasantly shady garden. They serve light but perfect lunches. The crockery is pretty, the staff and adorable, even the birds are like something from a Disney film. So few places left like this in England. Let’s applaud the ones that are left.

Whilst on holiday nearby we stopped off for a coffee, upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely man who told us the way to the garden and said someone would bring us menus, the garden was absolutely stunning (as shown in pic) it was a joy to just sit and watch the little birds bouncing and flying around the garden. We each had a coffee, I had Elderflower and Gooseberry Victoria Sponge which was delicious! All in all a lovely visit, service was exceptional! If you’re in the area this place is a must!

Our favourite coffee/tea shop of all time. It cannot be beaten for charm, excellent service, wonderful baking, great coffee and tea and such lovely owners. Mr and Mrs ‘Badger’ and their daughter Ellie go out of their way to make sure every customer feels special. We go there every time we are in the area. It makes many other coffee shops look ordinary.

Food, service, and atmosphere are always wonderful! We enjoyed a delicious lunch followed by cake and a scone. It was all beautifully presented and tasted amazing. My boyfriend said that his creamy mushrooms on toast was one of the best meals he’d eaten out. Service is always friendly and you can tell that there’s a lot of care taken for the customers. There also seems to be a good atmosphere amongst the team, which is lovely to see. We were politely informed about a small delay due to a large order inside, which I appreciated, and we got our drinks promptly. Our favourite place to eat out when we’re down this direction!

Friendly, cosy tea room with a lovely courtyard garden area. We visited on a rainy day so all indoor tables were in use, but sitting outside undercover was equally great. Everything on the menu looked so tempting! I can definitely recommend the cheese on toast, absolutely delicious! We were very tempted by the array of scones and sweet treats, but were genuinely too full. So that will be something to look forward to next time we're in the area. All the staff were welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

We moved to Pevensey recently and The Red Lion is our new “local”. It’s warm and inviting, the staff are lovely and the food is always brilliant, portion sizes are good and quality of food is on point. Prosecco deals would be amazing as it does put us off slightly the price of a bottle compared to Tesco next door but if you want a night out then it is what it is! We are regulars and enjoy our time here. Music on a Friday/Saturday night would be great instead of Sundays but that’s just us im sure others like it on a Sunday.

I have already reviewed this in the main hotel site. The drawing rooms are lovely, comfortable chairs, beautiful view, BUT the food and wine by the glass were truly awful. Very poor quality and very expensive. Never again.
