Hidden little gem. Walk through the antique shop to a bright small but beautiful tea room. Staff were incredibly friendly. Tea was superb and cake, well let’s just say it was hard to stop at one slice! Antique delicate china always seems to make tea taste better! Little games on the tables make it perfect for a get together with friends and even for children. Lovely views overlooking an orchard which was stunning. Will definitely be returning!

Amazing food, friendly staff, always busy! A day later I'm still completely stuff! The homemade pie is too die for, and the plum crumble, delicious, although I was a little disappointed that there was no Gypsy Tart on the menu 😋 can't wait until next time!

We held our daughter’s christening at The Black Lion and it was fantastic. Holly (landlady) was so helpful and the food that was provided was brilliant. Everyone commented on the variety, quantity and quality! It was a lovely sunny day so we all got to sit outside in the garden, which is perfect for families with its enclosed garden and play area. Thank you for making our day perfect.

As usual great food ,great service and great value. If you want a Sunday roast but don't want to cook, you can't go wrong with the Dover castle. Highly recommend

Nice enough place, comfortable rooms and great staff. However, had to send back two meals. The replacement , a simple burger (frozen) was raw. “We serve our burgers medium” is acceptable if warned and if they are made fresh. However … If they can’t cook rice or burgers I’d question the cook. After a long day, I expect more. I’m now still hungry so it has to be a delivery. Shame.

Only had a drink on this occasion but menu looks great! Probably for special occasions rather than ad hoc visit. Lovely setting, walks nearby and dog friendly garden and I think some indoor too.

Went to the Dover castle for lunch with my sister we sat in the garden, the staff were friendly and the menu had a lot of options. I had the fajita chicken baguette and my sister had a spicy Cajun chicken burger. The food was amazing the chicken was juicy and we left full up. Highly recommend. Beautiful garden.

I picked a good time to come in, staff super friendly premises clean and you get hot water in the very clean and spacious toilet facilities. Usually a very busy place so I timed it great!!! Great pricing as well. A defo for you to come.

Had a lovely Easter lunch with Mum. The food was delicious, the waitress was lovely and the pub is traditional. AND … there’s Bob the Parrot! We will definitely be back.

Awful Chinese. It used to be one of the best around. The service was fine but. 8 very very small prawn balls tasted okay but the sweet and sour sauce was vinegary. The chicken in the chicken curry was very chewy and watery. Crispy chilli beef had no beef in and was nothing but fried batter. Overall it was tasteless overpriced and small compared to other local Chinese takeaways. Avoid!

Traditional pub with an attractive terraced outdoor space. Had a Sunday roast here which was excellent and great portion size. Staff were really friendly and attentive
