I have waited until I have visited a few times before writing this review. I therefore thoroughly feel this beautiful pub deserves 5 stars. Every time my family have visited we have been met with very friendly staff and an excellent meal. I thoroughly recommend a pie here. I can honestly say it is the best pie I’ve had at any restaurant or pub. It is filled to the brim with filling and always comes with lashings of gravy. The roast dinner is great too… I see someone before said no mint sauce of horseradish…. We haven’t ever had this issue and it’s always in plentiful supply. The place itself is traditionally old English pub, looks very beautiful at nights all lit with fairy lights. There is also a very large car park so it’s not an issue parking during busy times. Highly recommend and will be returning.

My wife and i visit this pub for food 5-6 times a yea as its not local to us and love it, but on this occasion was very disappointed. My sister was over from USA with her husband and i wanted to show off a good old English Sunday lunch, there were 8 of us and everything was going ok drinks orders etc and that's when it started going wrong. There was a few lamb and beef dishes which were put on the table, and the waiter said can i get you anything else, that's when we asked for mint sauce and horseradish only to be told they didnt have any. We were speechless as the waiter offered know real apology, and if we had know this before we ordered we could have opted for the chicken Sunday roast. i know the pub will say they make there own, but come on guys send someone out to a local shop to get some jars. It was a real shame as it left a sour taste for somewhere which is normally on point.

Visited on a number of occasions just drinks and then twice for food. One occasion for Sunday lunch which was delicious and so unusual to find game pie as a Sunday option. Lots of game served here which is nice to see. Quite a tiny little pub off the A2 clearly marked from the main road down the country lanes but not too far. Excellent friendly staff. Food selection superb. Definitely recommend and we will be back. Dogs and children welcome.

This is a real smasher of a pub which is also dog friendly. It has oodles of off road parking and the only noise you can hear when sitting outside is from the birds and the gentle hum of patrons enjoying themselves. My parents took me there today for my birthday and it was a really lovely experience. We chose to sit outside as we had a dog and our attentive serving staff comprised of Chris, Evie and Will who were all lovely. The drinks arrived promptly as did the food. I had the steak and ale pie which was crammed full of meat, the duck fat roasties were to die for, and you could tell everything had been made from scratch. Thank you to Will for the lit candle on my pudding and to the large group of people behind me who joined in to sing Happy Birthday!

The Plough Inn is now my ‘go too’ for Sunday lunch. There is not a pub in Kent, in my view, that offers the same level of hospitality, efficient service and delicious food at a sensible price. Kevin and Carol make an amazing team and, with their lovely staff, never fail to deliver a wonderful dining experience. The roasts are really really good and Carol’s homemade puddings are simply the best. Just perfect. They get very busy on Sunday’s so an early booking is recommended.

What you need when you have a 1 year old who won’t sit in the high chair for long. Even asked if I could take my mum home a roast dinner and they done me a takeaway one and she said it was the best one she’s ever eaten. Thanks so much - keep up the good work! X

Birthday lunch. The steak and ale pie was most enjoyable and the scampi was eaten with enthusiasm. Two of us had 2x starters each as the dish I had wanted was not on offer today. It was nice that you can choose from skinny or fat chips. Beer was also excellent pint of Faversham spitfire. Couple of points about the meal. Would be nice to have sweet potato chips option and the pie meal could have done with one extra veg bit more gravy and little more mash. Although it was very nice I was not full after dinner and I am a small person so others may find this would not be enough. I would highly recommend going here and we will definitely be back. Than you

I felt obliged to come on here and write a review following several visits to this little gem. I’ve been here a few times now, at different intervals such as midweek, weekend, evening and afternoon and one thing is consistent - the service! The food is great (fillet steak) and is as expected from such venue, but for the me the service means so much more. I much prefer interacting with the owners directly - it’s more of a personal and attentive service. So I’d just like to say thank you to you all for a great service. Additionally I’d like to say to everyone reading this, if you get a chance, go and find out for yourself. Further; Kevin is more than happy to welcome self-sufficient motorhomes at the venue, in return for dining with them. So do consider this, as it offers gorgeous surroundings.

Visited here with family in March 2019 for a roast and decided to return, the first time we visited the roast was superb and i was hoping it wasn’t just a one off! The roast i had on my second visit was just as good, completely what you would expect from a lovely country pub! Too many places get roast dinner wrong and this place certainly gets it right! The gravy is to die for! The staff were very helpful also as my boyfriend wanted Mac and cheese which wasn’t on the Sunday menu, but they made it work for him! Will definitely be returning!

Fabulous food and atmosphere at this lovely cosy Pub! Theres even a pet Parrot called Bobby who kept us well entertained! Service was quick and nothing was too much trouble as everything cooked to order so things could be omitted if needed! Will definitely go again!

This pub is definitely worthy of a good review. There were 15 of us for a lunch time meal and it was great. Food was lovely...and warm too and we had more roast potatoes than we could eat! The staff were really attentive. Couldn’t fault the experience and one my colleagues even said it was the best work’s Christmas meal she’s ever had. So would definitely recommend.

My husband and I went with our son to The plough for their Xmas menu meal last Friday . The food was superb and the staff also. The landlord was really friendly and we had a good laugh with him at the bar , we met his wife when we were leaving who was really friendly as well .The pub is really cosy and relaxing , quaint and traditional country style with a lovely atmosphere. There are not many decent pubs left but this one is a must if you appreciate good food and nice friendly people. We are hoping to have a drink there Xmas eve and will most definitely be eating there again sometime .Thank you Kevin & Carol for a great evening , hope to see you again soon !Bev,Chris & CalumXxx

Came here one lunchtime and was very disappointed. Ordered pheasant and it was underdone and very anaemic looking. I ate fish and chips which again could have been cooked a little longer as the fish was very 'wet'. When the waitress asked if 'everything was ok' when collecting our plates with lots of left overs we explained and she came back with the bill with the pheasant deducted after speaking with the owners. That was a kind gesture but a little too late. I know food stops at 2.30pm but we were there well before then. I won't rush back to this pub which is a shame as we have eaten here many times and it has been good.

A lunch with friends for my wifes birthday brought us to this gem of a pub. Although clearly busy on a Sunday, the management and staff worked tirelessly together to ensure that every customer was welcomed and served in the warmest way possible. The food was first class, the service friendly, and the music excellent. Empty plates and full tummies at the end of a delightful afternoon mean that we most certainly will return.

We had a trip to Wildwinds antique center and came here for lunch. what a little gem. fantastic food at very good prices with all the puds homemade by the landlady. there was a blues, jazz live band playing which just added to our experience. The house wine was really good and apparently so was the beer. We will be back. thank you.

We had Game Stew and Venison and Hog pie and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The pie was wonderful with home made pastry. The landlord was extremely hospitable and very helpful. We would recommend.

Food was ok, service was dreadful. Kept asking for a high chair, also kept asking for drinks and got forgotten about. Had to ask for drinks to be taken off the bill as they never arrived. Ridiculous prices for dreadful service

Not been here in a few years - understand there had been a few changes. Food is still good - venison roast with textures of onion and interesting scallop starter both memorable. Service friendly but quite leisurely in pace. Lovely spot and a nice log fire. Not as busy as we’d have expected it to be on a Saturday lunchtime. Worth a visit!
