Great food, great service and lovely surroundings

Excellent Sunday lunch of Crispy Pork Belly followed by Champagne and Strawberry Pannacotta. The waiting staff were also brilliant, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable.

I'm on the search for the best Sunday roast in kent and The Plough was mentioned a few times amongst my searches and I can say it did not disappoint! The food was amazing, The only thing I could fault was that the "crispy pork belly" was not that crispy but I know that sometimes it just does not want to be but it still tasted delicious and the roast potatoes were amazing probably second best to my homemade ones I've ever tasted! The staff were all amazing and very attentive and welcoming and would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for a great Sunday roast! Also the prices were more than fair for the quality of the meal. Keep up the good work!

A lovely pub with a good reputation. We stopped off whilst on a countryside bike ride and as it was a sunny day we sat outside. There are benches just outside the pub or you can go round the side of the pub to the beer garden which is pretty big with plenty of additional seating. The inside of the pub is very welcoming and has a cosy and traditional feel. It was quite busy with people enjoying Sunday roasts so I would definitely recommend booking a table if you were thinking of ordering food (which looked delicious). The staff were very friendly and professional and made us feel welcome. There was also good music being played inside the pub and at a reasonable level. I would definitely recommend this pub and I hope to return soon to try the food.

Very nice old coaching inn. Friendly staff and efficient service. We had a loverly meal, my only slight disappointment was the portion size. If the portions were bigger it would be 10 out of 10

Had a dinner date last night and the food, service and ambience were perfect, couldn’t of asked for better. Will defo be going back!! Can’t rate the pork belly, salt and pepper squid, halloumi sticks and puddings enough. EXQUISITE

These guys never cease to let us down All the dishes we have had are outstanding ! We are particularly addicted to their pork belly starter 😋 and mac cheese .. the cheesecakes are absolutely delicious as is the Eton mess.. if we could eat there every night we would ! Praise be to their fantastic chef and the friendliness of the owners and their colleagues. Xx

Stayed overnight in our motorhome after returning from our Europe wide holiday. Landlord and landlady were so friendly, as were the people at the bar. Didnt eat as we were too late, but had a couple of drinks. Would definitely recommend this pub and we will be returning.

Had a really lovely lunch here. Children loved Bob the parrot. Staff were friendly.

We heard it was possible to sleep in our little campervan overnight so I called to ask. The person who answered the phone was so welcoming and kind and said we could. Thank you ever so much!! The pub itself is beautiful and although we were a bit late so the kitchen was closed when we got there, we still had a little drink and could see the people around us really enjoying their meals. We will 100% be back to try the food. Thank you once again for letting us stay! 😀

Great birthday lunch for a party of 7. Food was delicious and the two lovely serving ladies looked after us very well. The pub staff went out of their way to help the older members of our party. Special mention for Carol's outstanding desserts. We will be back!

Absolutely Incredible. Friendly staff , terrific Landlord, great location and top notch food allways cooked to perfection. Tonight I tried the Lemon sole which was simply stunning.

We are camping caristes and the landlord was very accommodating and allowed us to stay in the car park. To thank him for his hospitality, we dined in the pub. Wow! Great food and extremely friendly service. We’ve since made the Plough our first port of call when we come over to the UK. This time we even stayed an extra day to try something different from the menu. Can’t wait to come back again.

I’ve enjoyed roast lunches all around East Kent and I have to say The Plough has to rate in the top three, if not the best , Sunday lunch experience there is. The food is sensibly priced and top class. The meat selection, the vegetables are first class and served promptly. The selection of desserts are also great and very tasty. The chef clearly knows how to please his customers and the team both behind the bar and at the tables are friendly and efficient. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Even my terrier was looked after with water. I had the pleasure to meet Kevin and Carol today and I’m not surprised they have a thriving business. They are charming and, with my superb experience of two successive weekends, realise how to please their customers. Highly recommended.

Small country pub. Messed up our booking but accommodated us anyway. Friendly service, the food was fine.

Really great roast dinner and lovely staff. Grateful for tampons etc in toilets too. My only concern is lovely Bob the parrot was just sat at the bottom of his cage which is in a dark corner and he seemed a bit lethargic and lonely. I generally don’t agree with caging birds so would be nice to hear that he is well loved and cared for and gets time out of his cage too.

First rate as always, friendly staff and excellent food, i have booked a family dinner for 14 in January 2023.

Went here for Mother's Day, 11 people and a baby. I massively screwed up the booking but they were super helpful and fitted us in. The food is plentiful, divine and well presented. The staff are top notch and couldn't be more helpful. The location is in the countryside, straight off of the A2 and the pub itself is like an old farmhouse. Very quaint. Highly recommended for a Sunday roast.

Visited today for lunch with a friend. Staff so friendly and welcoming. We had steak pie for lunch which was amazing and Puddings. Well....equally amazing. Gypsy tart and sticky toffee pudding. Would highly recommend. Thank you !

Food was ok ,even though I was served garlic roast potatoes . I told the server I had a garlic intolerance ( that's why I declined the nut roast ) I won't eat Sunday lunch there again. Partner enjoyed his roast lamb

Just had another fabulous , family meal at the Plough for my mothers 89th birthday . The food is absolutely delicious , the staff are friendly and the hosts very welcoming , .My partner hasn’t stopped raving about his Steak !

We were here on Monday and it is beautiful. In the country and so quiet! You need to drive carefully along a narrow lane but it is fine. The pub was closed for the Landlady’s birthday so we were sorry not to be able to contribute but a huge thank you to the owners for welcoming motor homes to their lovely parking. Happy Birthday and muchas gracias from your Spanish visitors. PS. We came back on Thursday and had a great lunch! Not to be missed!

Found this beautiful pub by chance on Sunday just gone. Took my Son to a nearby location as he was filming, so me and my Son's girlfriend popped in here on the off chance for a lunch. We hadn't booked but the lady got us a table which was really lovely of her. The food was delicious 😋 The waiter (with the beard) I think his name was Scott? Was just so so lovely really really attentive and very funny!! I would highly recommend this place

An utterly charming pub! The food is very good, from appetizers to Gypsy Tart everything has been very tasty. With Britstop you can stay overnight in the parking lot. We will definitely come by again!

Disappointed. Lovely pub, nice welcome but roast potatoes were like left over oven roasties and very small. Meat was tough. Bit expensive for what we had .Won't be rushing back.

Stayed at the Malt house in Teynham and took a walk to this lovely little gem for lunch. Karen was the most attentive patient waitress I have ever had the pleasure of having serving us. Owner (Sorry don't know his name) was so lovely and looked after us all. Thank you for lovely service, food and drinks in a beautiful English rural setting.

Lovely little place we found on the way back from the coast. Good food at a reasonable cost is hard to find now days, so this was a pleasant surprise. The pork belly was amazing so I’ll be returning for a Sunday roast some time. My son loved seeing Bob the parrot.

What a delightful pub! The Staff are so friendly and helpful; the food is delicious (and such a wide selection) and the garden is so nice to relax in. We had a wonderful evening here tonight, making the most of the warm weather.

We have visited the Plough on several occasions over the years , had my husbands 80th birthday there a few years ago . Always greeted with a friendly smile , great service and the food is excellent , last visited on Friday , had the belly pork absolutely delicious and so well presented , always a great experience 😋

Absolutely brilliant, food, service, ambiance made for an excellent visit. We travelled from Westgate-on-Sea our sons from Maidstone for a birthday lunch. Only one comment although very nice the sticky toffee pudding was more like a sponge with no dates, sorry to be picky I am a retired chef 🙂. On the plus side we will definitely return thank you.

Food here is of a high quality but it is expensive. The pork belly and the pie of the day were both delicious. Accommodated a serious allergy just fine, which was great. Next time I go I won't be getting the starters, which I feel were not value for money, as tasty as they were. Just shy of £7 for 4 prawns and a dip. No doubt the food here is tasty, the atmosphere is good and Bob the parrot is a big plus. Bar the starters you pay for what you get, which is good quality food with great presentation.

Beautiful well kept garden. Lovely old building. Shame that they would not serve us food @ 1200hrs, when we were the only patrons in the building/ garden. You need to book. In this current climate you would think that pubs would want to take any paying patron. A simple bar menu is not hard for a family of 8. The assumed landlady was quite nice explaining it. I will be back pre booked and will update on here

What a find. First time we have visited this real old school pub and restaurant. The food was great. Only a limited menu at present, but really tasty, well presented and expertly cooked. The Locals and staff welcomed my wife and I as if we were old friends. Warm, friendly and reasonably priced. Obviously, we're going to visit again. A true hidden gem. If your in the area, pop in and experience an old fashioned welcome. You won't be disappointed.

Lived in Norton for over three years and finally made it as a family for Sunday lunch. Pork Belly is fantastic, bread n butter pudding even better. The owners are welcoming, waiting staff warm and chatty. We should have gone before, we will go again. Best lunch in ages..
