Lovely little cake/ sandwich shop.buisy .clean and fresh

Enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea here today. Beautifully presented, a very good selection of wraps and sandwiches, scones , cream and jam, delicious cup cakes adorned with Summer fruits and grapes. Tea or coffee served too. The ladies were very courteous and helpful in every way. We noticed their very comprehensive and reasonably priced menu for snacks, brunch, lunch or just pop in for a coffee/tea and cake. A lovely setting opposite Minster Abbey Church and Minster Gatehouse Museum across the road. Thoroughly recommend The Abbey Cake shop.

Poor choice of cakes, slow staff. Scones were stale and tasteless. More interested in deliveries than sit in customers. Seems like they have lost interest in it.

The food is fantastic. The cakes are great. Everything is reasonably priced. I would highly recommend lunch. All the staff serve you with a smile

The food is fantastic and the service is excellent. Had a really nice time, we only go to the cake shop now for our lunches as the food and service are so good. We enjoyed our Christmas lunch very much, service and food still of a very high standard, we would not go anywhere else. We have been there today and again the food and service were excellent.

Excellent cakes 👍. I have only had takeaways. Looks nice to eat and drink in but always looks very busy . Don't know if you can book a table ? You might have to in order to Guarantee a table .

My elderly father and I enjoyed a coffee and cake today at the small but friendly Abbey Cake Shop. I have a plant-based diet so I had the vegan chocolate orange cake which was absolutely fantastic. Worth anyone stopping just for this !! Thank you ladies.

The Abbey Cake shop has to be one of the cleanest I have ever been in. The food is covered, the tables are exceptionally clean as is the cutlery and plates cups and saucers. No flies, clean lavatory (very important in my opinion) and the staff are the friendliest, most helpful I have ever come across. I would highly recommend as visit. The food is spectacular, just looking at the many cakes on sale make my mouth water. Best place on Sheppey.

Second or third time we have used this dependable eatery. This time it was for a buffet meal at The Minster Abbey after a funeral. Faultless service, wonderful food selection, and they even provided boxes should anyone wish to take away food after the service. Would recommend without hesitation.

I went to the Abbey cake shop for the first time to collect an order for someone which was 2 Chaturie boards. I collected one not realising the order was for two so had to go back to collect the second. When i did this, the first lady was very polite and helpful however the 2 other staff i was met with first could learn some customer service skills,being met with a not believable attitude and having to ask them to look at their order history that two instead of one was brought. They then gave me the second board but feel more organisation could be improved in what their customer has actually ordered and paid for. The boards were however fantastic and wouldn't mind going back there for future, however a little politeness and less unbothersome attitude would improve things, finding that this could intimidate others in actually requesting or querying their order as not many would go back being to worried to, so making others welcome and being attentive to orders would help alot, with other people telling me that staff can be rude in there. As i said, this was a first time visit and not a overly positive one,so im open to seeimg this as it was a busy day and you dont know what others go through, however consumers should feel welcomed when using a service.

Nice little cake and coffee shop, that's larger than it looks from the outside. Not tried one yet but people say the milkshakes are good

Cakes are very good, sandwiches are so-so... a good range of nice fillings though a little underwhelming on the plate. No side salads feel a little stingey; would improve the visual appeal and texture/ flavour.

Met a friend here for a catch up. Great food, clean and friendly. Would definitely go again.

We ordered a buffet for our daughters Christening and it was just perfect. So much flavour and all our guests commented on how lovely it was. So we’ll laid out and presented too. Would highly recommend and will definitely be using again.

Booked for afternoon tea with a friend, and it was all delicious. 4 different types of sandwich, 2 different types of wrap, scine with jam & clotted cream , plus a lovely cupcake and lovely fresh fruit. Plus tea or coffee. We were not rushed in any way, were allowed to swop one of the cupcakes for a different one and had a 2nd pot of tea and coffee. All for a complete bargain price. It was all really fresh and homemade and I wouldn't hesitate to go back again. Booking is really recommended as they were really busy and having to turn people away. Most definitely a 5 star experience

Our daughters booked us as the first customers into " The Bubble " today for a family lunch to celebrate our Golden Wedding anniversary. Marvellously decorated warm weatherproof surroundings, attentive service and an excellent buffet lunch, including awesome scones & beverages. The Abbey cake shop catered our wedding this year ( during the pandemic ). They made abeautiful wedding cake too. All the food and cake was delicious. Would highly recommend as fantastic service.

Absolutely lovely Cake Shop & Tearoom on Sheppey Island next to Minster Abbey. We spent all food & drink breaks in here. Lovely food also very friendly chatty staff too. Definately worth a visit.

Our daughter arranged a surprise Fathers Day cream tea which was delivered. The tea was for four persons and was very generous. Sandwiches, wraps, fruit, cupcakes and scones with jam and cream. The sandwiches and wraps were fresh and well filled with a variety of fillings. The scones were large and filled with sultanas with a mini jar of jam and a pot of cream per scone! It was absolutely delicious and enjoyed by us all.I can highly recommend their cupcakes and the afternoon tea takeaway was a brilliant idea.

I ordered an afternoon tea for 2 as a surprise for my brother & his wife. The order was so easy to place with a very friendly member of staff & was delivered the following day. My brother was delighted with his surprise gift & sent me photos of a very delicious & fresh looking combination of wraps, sandwiches,cup cakes & scones. As the title says it was the best afternoon tea I've had in a long time.I had phoned and booked an afternoon tea for me and a friend whose birthday it was.When we got there they had decorated a corner of the tea room with birthday banners.Cakes are just fantastic especially the coffee and walnut.It's all freshly baked and sandwiches are made to order.It's a little out of the way but I highly recommend going to just have the cake.Very reasonable prices and we both struggled to finish as there was a lot on the cake stand.You will try it once and will come back time and again.Its Minister on Sea well kept secret.

I booked here after a recommendation for 6 people for an afternoon tea for a friends birthday. From the very start they were so helpful and pleasant and even made a birthday cake for me from one of their shop cakes. The afternoon tea was lovely and very filling and we all had a wonderful time. I will be returning again for more of the delicious cakes.

Me and my wife love a good afternoon tea and have been to several establishments across Kent. We decided to give The Abbey Cake shop a try, we were not dissapointed. For £12.50 per person you get a huge scone, a large array of sandwiches and wraps, which included spicy chilli chicken. And either cupcakes or donoughts.On top of this the service was excellent. Will definitely go their again.

We visited the abbey cake shop as had seen it mentioned in a friends post on FB. We had filled baguettes for lunch with a hot drink. excellent value and very tasty food. service fast and friendly. The cakes looked amazing especially the lemon drizzle and the cup cakes although we resisted temptation on this occasion - will just have to come back and try them one day!! There is a small garden at the back which is lovely and sheltered

First visit apart from being a little busy and having to wait a while for food was very nice and clean. Looks small from outside but this is not so. Pleasant area inside and out the back tables plus chairs

I went to the Abbey Cake Shop this afternoon with my daughter, two girlfriends and four grandchildren. This was my first visit to the shop, but it had been recommended to me. When they brought the tiered plates of food out, we could hardly believe our eyes, beautifully presented, a lovely choice of sandwiches and wraps, huge scones and amazing cupcakes. The food was delicious and there was so much there we needed cake boxes to take home what we didn't eat. The staff were very friendly and helpful, what a delightful place. It was also extremely good value. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys their food. Definitely a little gem of a place.

We visited today as a treat for my mum, we’ve heard great reviews but were very disappointed. We had a very unfriendly welcome after a few minutes waiting, after which we were seated & asked what we wanted, we didn’t know what we could choose, when the food arrived the sandwiches were delicious, but the cakes were quite dry.Unfortunately it didn’t match up to the reviews & we left feeling disappointed.
