Great pub, has become our local even though we live 20 mins away. Staff are great always friendly and the food is amazing, great chef 👌, bar staff are great Chaz such a lovely lady and a good laugh always, Lisa the owner is also very welcoming, gave me a free whisky on my birthday. Want a great pub with great food and environment go here.

We went for dinner 16th Feb. A great find for us. Staying local we needed a nice country pub for food and drink. Was not disappointed, great food, great choice of drinks, the staff and land lady were so friendly, we will definitely be back at some point.. Gluten free menu, sounded a little quirky, but honestly, all the food was great quality, very tasty and served with a smile.

Thoughtful attention, lovely atmosphere, and great tasty food! Absolutely would recommend this to anyone; we visited from Florida and they took excellent care of us. My wife is gluten and dairy free and loved the salmon and awesome dessert options.

Beautiful country pub, with outstanding service and food! Me and my partner have been waiting to come here as was recommended and it really was 10/10. Will definitely be coming back here! What a unique pub . Totally Gluten free . Food was good @ safe from contamination. Lager @ bitter on draft ( also gluten free)..staff @ customers were friendly. Well worth the visit for anybody. Can't wait to go again .

We went here after a walk but I’d had my eye on the pub for a while as I have coeliac disease and couldn’t wait to have a completely care free meal out! Will definitely be back as I need to try the sticky toffee pudding!

It's not often you find somewhere with a completely gluten free menu. Also dairy free and vegetarian. To say the food I ordered was lovely is a understatement. Thank you to Sharon for making the experience so much better, a very welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. Couldn't recommend the Red Lion enough.

We found this lovely pub online while searching for gluten free restaurants in Kent and were so happy to have visited! The options for vegans / vegetarians were plentyful 🤩💚, portions were generous, food was delicious, service very kind and attentive! we loved everything about it! And as a additional pro the restaurant is also super dog friendly! Such a must visit as a ceiliac! 👍👍💯

I took my daughter who has coeliac for a birthday dinner. It was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and kind to my daughter. The onion rings are to die for and the puddings were particularly impressive. Many thanks for having us.

Went here for a birthday meal with a few friends. Especially went here for due to the whole menu being gluten free (for the birthday friend). I was lets say apprehensive but I was very wrong! The food was delicious, and the service was really good and the cater for vegetarians too!

Fantastic. From entering the pub until leaving the service was excellent. Mad to feel very welcome. Had Sunday lunch and it was one of the best I have had for a long time. Food was amazing and plentiful. Roast pork and crackling gorgeous. Good selection of drinks. All in all a lovely cosy pub that is well worth a visit, cracking.

Absolutely lovely experience, such a gem of a place. Beautiful food, wonderful people, lovely rustic pub indoors and beautiful garden outside. I would highly recommend this establishment to everyone. I only wish this restaurant existed across the whole country, because finding such quality gluten free food is a nightmare otherwise. Will definitely be making the trip to Kent again just to visit.

Lovely food, great service, superb atmosphere.

The pub itself looks nice and seemed to have good atmosphere. A customer in garden greeted us saying dogs are allowed off lead out there which is a bonus. No tables and chairs in garden as seen in photos but we have only just started seeing improvements in weather so maybe garden furniture still in storage. As we entered older lady behind bar said "can I help you?" but tone and facial expressions were not welcoming. We'd booked table originally for 6 but had called to reduce to 4. Was given table for 3 in cramped corner..had to move furniture ourselves to accommodate all 4 of us. Waitresses were pleasant but not particularly efficient. Had to get menu ourselves.. and was glared at for doing so.Had to ask 3 times for jug of water which eventually came without glasses as they'd run out . Roast dinners were nice apart from potatoes Decent portion. Plenty of veg. Reasonable price. Toilets pleasant and clean. Discrete box of supplies for ladies that get caught short was a nice touch. Photo of naked barman shows sense of humour. Overall.... didn't feel welcome or valued as customer so probably won't bother returning

We came here on a whim for a last minute date night before heading into Faversham for an escape room. From calling up to book a table till we left, the service was spot on! The decor is cosy and quaint - especially with the log fire going. We were made to feel really comfortable and the food was perfect and everything felt clean and well looked after. We have already recommended to friends and hope to visit again soon with the kids and partake in a game of scrabble. We just wish it was our local! Everything a pub should be :)

Went here for a festive dinner after lights at walmer castle. Everything is gluten free which is perfect for my relative. They also have a great vegan/veggie menu. Really friendly service and good wine list

My husband and I went in for drinks as we are staying near by for a weekend break. Such a beautifully decorated cosy pub, with extremely kind and friendly staff. A great place to go to relax and unwind.

What can I say! We came here as a pre wedding evening treat. Staff were lovely, very accommodating and chatty. Food was beyond fantastic My vegan pie was fantastic. My mum and her friend said it’s some of the best food they’ve had and the best meal they’ve had out in AGES Owner noticed I was wearing a bride tiara and was so kind and chatty wishing me the best for my big day Highly recommend If we didn’t live so far away I can only imagine this would be our chosen “local”

Lovely lunch with 2 friends. One of the few local pubs serving great food that is open 7 days a week. Weekends are popular so book well in advance. The gluten free menu is extensive and certainly doesn't fall short on quality or flavour.

Just visited as we are staying local in area and stumbled upon it. Firstly the woman behind the counter (a blonde woman unfortunately didn’t catch her name) was absolutely lovely. So friendly, attentive and overall extremely pleasant. The food was also very good! It was a really nice atmospheric pub and we had our 2.5 month old with us and very felt very welcomed which sometimes can be a bit of an issue. Really lovely little pub and would definitely recommend

The pub was fairly quite. The service was very slow. The 2 young girls spent more time talking,although when they did serve they were polite and cheerful.good sized roast. The landlady was very nice.

A hidden gem!! Great beer, lovely staff and a fantastic gluten free menu filled with wholesome home cooked options, and despite not being gluten intolerant myself, my husband is so, being able to dine out together without a restricted menu is a rarity. Would absolutely recommend the steak and ale pie. Delicious!!! We will certainly be visiting again.

Went in on a weekday afternoon. Quiet as you'd expect. Friendly lady behind the bar and had a chat with the landlady who was sitting in the bar. The reason for leaving this review was the quality of the ale, it was superb. Condition, temperature and taste were all spot on. Coincidentally it was a beer from Musket Brewery, Linton. We will be back!

I wish there was one of these pubs back home. All food is gluten free. I am also dairy, soy & egg free. All allergens were clearly marked which enabled me to have a delicious meal & a pudding. Thankyou Red Lion for an amazing experience.

We had a superb meal yesterday evening. It’s very rare to come across a 100% GF restaurant and with two in our group being Coeliac it was very reassuring. Really great pub food and very friendly and attentive staff. Southern fried chicken and steak and ale pie were fantastic. Great also having gluten lager on tap as well! Definitely recommend.

My coeliac friend was delighted to find the whole menu available to her. The food was delicious, with no compromises. The server, Lisa, was amazing at front of house and met all our requirements with ease and a lovely friendly smile.

Very bad from start to finish who ever is leaving reviews saying this place is amazing need to get checked in the head because this is -5 stars. To start we were greeted with how can I help you as if we didn't come to a restaurant to eat and drink via (Emma Wrighton) to then be seated so we can order our food and drinks. #1 drinks came in dirty glass which I asked her to change !! #2 dirty table, I lost faith at this point but I said I'm already here 😞 #3 most important of all disgusting food !! 🤢🤮 So I ordered the pizza because that stood out to me the most to my suprise when it arrived it was just burnt pepperoni and a sprinkle of cheese and tomato. When I asked is this the meat feast, Emma Wrighton said yes this is the meat feast it's 3 types of pepperoni. I've never known a meat feast to have only pepperoni. But I tried it and it was just disgusting it tasted like dry cardboard!! No moisture no flavour just burnt cardboard!! They had the cheek to come out and say we can add more meat to the pizza 😂😂 I can go on but I think I've Said enough on that topic. The pizza was not meat feast!! Now moving on to the burger that was a vegan black bean burger how can I even put this in words the texture was like paste I could use it to hold my wall paper!! Overall this place is flat 0 do not go here please everyone read this !!

Fantastic food, several people in our party are gluten intolerant so it was great they could choose anything from the menu. As a gluten eating person, I would not have known it was gluten free which is a bonus as sometimes the texture of gluten free foods is undesirable. I have two fussy teenagers and they loved it too so a big thumbs up. 👍

First time visiting the Red Lion today. Absolutely 10/10 for quality of food, service and atmosphere. As a coeliac it is really nice to experience great pub food and cosy atmosphere knowing I don’t have to stress about cross contamination or being given the wrong food. I also have other allergies which they catered for without any stress. My family are not coeliac but they too enjoyed the food very much. Can’t wait to return! Would 100% recommend.
