A fantastic, family run public house with a good atmosphere and a friendly clientele!

I would like to save the following text: "The pub was very clean and the staff were really friendly. I received excellent customer service. I have never eaten at this pub before, and it was my first time visiting in July of this year I think.I think I would like to eat at this pub one day." The pub had a really good atmosphere and it was good that they have karaoke event.

Lovely compact family run pub. Not long since taken over by current landlords. Good selection of drinks. Nice outdoor area to rear. Has regular themed entertainment events. Family friendly. Highly recommended.

Table for 2 om the patio. Had set menu. It was going so well. Got there fairly early, 6.30 table, on a Wednesday. There were a few other patrons, but they were not too busy. We had a fabulous server, apologies, forgot her name. Had an order taken, drinks served. Starters arrived, food hot, all OK. Then, groups of women turned up, tables filled. Tables seemed to ordering one bottle at a time for 6 persons! Waited an age for our dinner, my opened bottle of wine was in an ice bucket by the server's station, there was literally no one around to give me a top up, eventually I couldn't be bothered to wait and filled up my own glass and kept the bottle with me. Cleaned up our own plates as no one around. 40 minutes later, (we were chatting, so not the end of the world), we were presented with a bill, even though we hadn't had desserts, that had been preordered. Many apologies from our server, who had been running around like a mad busy woman, got desserts, and more apologies. The server spoke to her manager and took off the cost of a course, and took off the gratuity. We gave server a huge tip directly to her because she earned it. Nice place. Not enough staff on. Set menu, reasonably priced.

Super clean and tidy, lovely home cooked food, great service, the Guinness is first class, amazing function room newly refurbished and beer garden, amazing what the new owners have done with this pub, really is a lovely place to be, for kids and dogs welcome too.

Lovely village pub. The beef and also the chicken burgers were yummy 😋 icecreams with wafer and a large selection of sauces and toppings, or with chocolate cookie 🍪 The lovely Lynn was really attentive and friendly, as were the locals that were there. It was a lovely meal with our grandchildren. Thank you Lynn

Huge thanks to the kind gentleman behind the bar on Sunday evening who went to great trouble to get a confused driver with malfunctioning satnav and no map back on to the M2. Your directions worked perfectly - which is more than can be said for Google Maps which remained silent throughout the journey!

First time in the Swan in a while, recently taken over by new owners, The new Irish family is very pleasant and welcoming. it's been beautifully decorated and updated inside and out, enjoyed a drink and a burger, very tasty great service, and a great price. would definitely be coming back.

This pub has recently been taken over by a lovely family. Very friendly and welcoming. Great entertainment for adults and children. Dog friendly. Dart Board and Pool tables. The garden has been refurbished and is fabulous, it's a sun trap so bring your sun cream and hats! but there are parasols provided. Would highly recommend.

Clicky as hell. Locals really dont like fresh blood coming into their pub. Shame, because it otherwise has all the makings of a great london style pub, but the people ruin the experience. Staff are fabulous, and they offer games nights regularly as well as live TV. Everything on point, just a shame it has attracted such a nasty mob mentality.

It was a very quiet pub and a bit run down. However there is a really good seafood place in the carpark.

We had this delivered - The food is honestly amazing! There was an issue with our order with a couple of bits missing (as other previous reviews have stated too), but after contacting the Manager, he personally sorted it out and couldn't apologise enough. We'll definitely be ordering again - It's possible we'll end up collecting in future (as it's the delivery side of things which is having a few issues), however I'd be more than happy to go and collect as the quality of the food is superb. I have no doubt that the delivery issues will be resolved in good time (yet I also appreciate it isn't an overnight fix!) Keep up the good work and continue to improve - You'll get there in the end as your food is some of the nicest I've had from a local takeaway in a long time 😊

Love this place, lived in the village for years but only started drinking here. The staff are lovely & super friendly.

Some nice beers in here. Service was pleasant. Decent interior. Popped in while waiting for the train.

1st visit, went to see the band Rebound, with friends, very good evening including the snow machine towards the latter end of the evening.

Friendly service good food & drink.

Walked into this pub for the first time ever and it was breathtaking. As soon as you open the door, the smell of a roast hit you, then, as you walk in, the landlady greets you like your a proper local. It's not trying go be anything than it is, and that's a proper old school pub. It's not a gastro, it's not micro it's not a yobbo pub, it's a proper local. 👍

Never had a bad night in this pub. Andrea and staff can't do enough for you. Great to have a local that is so welcoming.

Whilst waiting for a takeaway just up the street Myself and my wife. Decided to have a drink. There were a choice of two local pubs but we chose the swan. It was Friday evening. On entering, the very pleasant bar lady promptly served us and we sat down. The language from some of the clients sitting at the bar was foul. It was unbelievable, by far the worst we have ever experienced in any pub, every other word was a f or swear word. it was loud, and non stop. And worst of all at the bar. We moved to a location closer to the main entrance. So as to finish our drinks and leave. Unfortunately the door was being held fully open whilst conversations were taking place in the doorway. There were people smoking, both around and just inside the door entrance. Which made the situation worse as we don’t smoke. This is a lovely pub building in a great location we have lost enough nice pubs already for different reasons. unfortunately we will never return or recommend this place.

A local pub for local people that don't mind letting off a bit of steam on a Friday/Saturday night lol. I've never had a bad night in there to be fair. Definitely a lively place. Bit like The Queen Vic

An excellent pub very family-friendly wonderful atmosphere when the pub has entrainment on can get very busy. The entrainment changes weekly and there is something to suit everyone. From rock and roll nights to magical christmas themed evenings for famileys and children with snow machines galore. Food is provided and allways fresh and in abundance this is a very large pub with pool room .function room. outside smoking area .open fires a very warm welcome from owners and staff excellent a real community winner can't praise enough brillent.

Stop serving food way too early

Sorry but we didn't find this pub at all 5 star. The menu was very basic and although the food was cooked while we waited it was not hot. The gammon steak was dry over cooked and so was fried egg. The chips were warm which made them tough. Service was ok. The bench seats need re-stuffing so hard and uncomfortable. The best part was that it was budget priced but certainly not the normal pub-grub.

I booked a "wake" at this place, the service was fantastic (very helpful and understanding) and the price was more than reasonable... Everything was exactly as was promised and agreed, the service was just as I expected and the food was great! The egg mayo sandwiches were some of the best I have ever tasted! I will now make a point of going here for lunch or a stop-off in the future so I can help support a small local business! Cannot recommend these guys enough; they took all of the think work out of the day, did more than was agreed and did not charge a lot for it! If you're looking for a quiet passing pint/drink in a lovely "local" pub, having dinner or looking to enjoy live music on the weekend - this is your place!

Good value and fairly authentic food. Much more acceptable than the hotel we were staying in. Will not stop there next visit and will also look around for local eateries.

Popped in on a Sunday for a quick drink. The pub was very inviting and the staff were very friendly. The fire was and felt a lovely local pub to be in. Didn't eat but Sunday lunch looked wonderful

The swan is a nice friendly village pub run by a local family who extend a warm welcome to everyone that walks through the door. Food served daily and a traditional roast on Sundays. With live music most weekends and karaoke to add to the mix who wouldn't want to visit

We had my little girls 1st party here in may, they was so accommodating and welcoming. Have there own hall and bouncy castle which was good fun for all!! A beautiful back garden too. As for the children christmas party was amazing, was magical for the kids!! My daughter loved it, the entertainment was amazing too! Everyone at the pub was fun and friend an a great laugh. I definitely recommend the swan. Well done guys!! Xxxxxdx😃👍

Where do I start .. 😊 what a lovely family orientated pub run by a lovely family very welcoming and friendly . The pub host lots of events and live music every weekend . It's so enjoyable and brings in the punters with a very friendly atmosphere. The food is lovely would highly recommend it . The service is on point . Perfect If you would like to hire out the pub function room for a wedding reception , party etc . The pubs standards are 100% very clean and a decent refurbishment. Also in the summer great for children as they have the bouncy castle for children's entertainment .

If you want a pub lunch at a great price this is the best place to come in the village. Warm welcome from staff and also with a blazing open fire perfect for the winter season. Live music some Fridays and every Saturday night with karaoke also on every Sunday and Tuesday night. Meals are served from Tuesday through to Sunday. Would recommend a visit and suitable for everyone :)

My partner and I were really happy with our meal here. I contacted the swan via Facebook message to enquire about their Sunday lunch menu and times of service. They responded very quickly and were both friendly and helpful. The atmosphere of the pub is warm and friendly and they have a lovely open fire which was a nice touch. We both opted for the roast beef and were very happy with the quality and service. I look forward to coming back in the future with the family :)

Another great country pub that supports and promotes live music. For that reason alone, it should be treasured and visited as often as possible!

Awful. We went here on an outing of the local pubs and I'd rather mix with proper Londoners than this load of wannabes. Silly girls and obnoxious men acting up and the staff are no better. It''s laughable how bad this pub is

My grandmother, father and I travelled down to Sittingbourne on mothers day looking for a lovely restaurant for a Sunday dinner aand after being told from two places that they were fully booked, we came across the swan. On entering the feel was very homely with warm fires burning and friendly staff. The Sunday roasts that were available were pork, beef and lamb and although at first we were a little upset about no chicken roast once the pork and beef roasts came out they were amazing, freshly cooked vegetables and tender meat. The chef on Sundays is amazing, she was just like a normal mother cooking a traditional Sunday roast and it was outstanding. Following the roast we has spotted dock for dessert and it brought back memories of my own mother cooking. I would definitely recommend people locally to travel here for a Sunday roast and a lot more people should know it name and give it a go as you will not be disappointed. The swan is a place I would go again.
