Great food, great service and good value. Would recommend.

First visit to this lovely Inn and we were not disappointed. Our meals were beautifully presented as well as tasty, so we all left the table with bellies full! Thank you so much to all the staff at Dover Castle Inn. We shall certainly be visiting here again when next in Kent.

Always clean very friendly come and ask if your enjoying your meal don’t have to wait to long the staff are amazing and big thumbs up to the chef your food is amazing.

Perfect location, lovely food and a pleasant atmosphere. The only gripe I have is that each time we visit, there’s always something that goes amiss or wrong. Albeit it’s rectified, it’s just annoying that it happens.

Andrew and I both go to The Dover Castle pub in Teynham every two weeks on a Sunday and we have our Sunday lunch there and we started to go there in June in 2022

Well presented pub with friendly staff. We went early evening midweek which seemed a quiet evening, regardless, the food was impressive and excellent value.

We have visited the inn three times now and very much enjoyed each visit. The staff are hard working, friendly and attentive. It is obvious that they want customers to be happy. The food is very good. There is a varied menu with reasonable prices. There is also a wide range of drinks. The inn was recently refurbished to a high standard. The staff maintain that standard with the decor and presentation being very good indeed. We will be back!

Good to see that the Dover Castle is back as one of the great pub/ restaurants again. Lovely garden with play area for kids. Had the Sunday lunch which was good and plentiful. Waiting staff friendly and professional service. There were 12 of us and all meals came at same time nice and hot. Will be back to try other things on the menu but if you want a good roast at a good price you won't go wrong here.

First time visiting this pub and it did not disappoint. The staff were lovely and the food was very tasty. They have a nice area for the children to play on and plenty of outside seating so you can watch them.

Had an amazing lunch. Crispy pork belly with pea shoots, bubble and squeak with a cider sauce and apple pearls! Was quite costly at £17.95 but well worth it. The pork just melted and the sauce and apple was so delicious. Bubble and squeak a bit bland but still good. Would highly recommended.

Great meal. Break down in communication over drinks order. Appart from that definitely going back.

We had a lovely meal with friends at The Dover Castle on Thursday. The food and service were both spot on. Lively presentation, good choice on the menu too. The only downside was that when we ordered a variety of desserts, only one of the choices was available. This didn't spoil our visit, but it would have made it even better if we had our first choices. Tuete were very few other diners, in fact, we were the only people in the area where we sat. It is cosy though.

A great meal, very large roast portions, and very good pricing. A meal for 4, with 2 starters and a round of drinks for just less than £100. Recommended.

Mother's day treating Mother . Sunday roast plenty of meat beautifully cooked. Great selection of vegetables Roast potatoes slightly over done but didn't spoil the event. Couldn't get to the deserts to full, but they looked delicious. Great coffee. Thank you for fitting us in. And thanks for the girls who served us.

Staff were very accommodating for a 60th birthday gathering of a table of 13 and were happy for us to bring a cake and put up a few banners. Food was lovely, staff could have been slightly more attentive after our main meal but it was quite a busy day.

Such a disappointing trip, we left before we ordered. Choice was very limited several options sold out on a Saturday evening. The place was empty which it never used to be. Such a shame.

Food was ok but quite expensive , brought dessert menus whilst mains plates were still on the table , then had to go and ask for the bill as once we had our food they seem to disappear . used to be really good but wouldn’t go again 😢

Excellent meal on Christmas Eve, very friendly and helpful staff.

Food was so poor it was sent back once due to food being so cold the gravy was like water it was a shame because the staff was so lovely cheerful and happy I think maybe the kitchen needs looking at .

Food was under cooked , Over priced for what it was . Deserts was lovely but too expensive.

The pub had run out of draught beer at 7pm on a Tuesday - we had to drink bottled. Service was fast and friendly. The sea bass was excellent, but the fish pie was disappointing - the fish was dry, no sauce.

Came in on Friday for a couple of drinks after work and was kicked out at 10:15 even though the pub closes at 11pm won't be using this pub again in a hurry

Food is generous and tasty, and the menu is extensive.... highly recommended pub following a walk in the area. Also they have an excellent low alcohol ale.

We just had lunch for my partner's birthday... variety of dishes between two adults and three children, all of which were very nice. The vietnamese wings and wild boar pasta being highlights. Would happily come again for this at the prices they charge. Service was good too and seating arrangement quite spacious.

Great staff who are diligent and attentive to their guests, more in a nuanced fashion than the type who want the world to know. Lots of local attractions to keep one busy and just adds to the feel of Dover Castle.

Disappointing Sunday lunch with the family food average, but service shocking waited 45minutes to have plates cleared away in the end had to go to bar to ask to be taken away where 4 members of staff where having a chat to be told we short staffed. Sadly will not be returning back to this pub . In the cost of living crisis customer service really does make the difference where I spend my money .

The food was lovely but a bit pricey, especially for a chicken burger which was about £15

Had a delicious steak, cooked to perfection and the chips here are divine!! The peppercorn sauce was also spot on. I actually can't wait to go back and have the exact same meal! So good! I wasn't mad about the mushroom starter, found it to be a little slimey and think the sauce wasn't honouring the mushrooms appropriately. Think there may have been a chicken stock or something that overpowered the mushrooms. Looked great though 👌 The staff were very pleasant & food came out at the right pace. My friend had ham, egg and chips and they'd paired it with an apple chutney which was so unique and worked really well. Loved the bold move there. The venue itself is so nice, it's a shame nobody was making use of the gorgeous and substantial garden. Plenty of outdoor space, loads of tables. The Dover Castle is the type of place you can go for a nice evening meal or likewise enjoy some casual drinks throughout the day. I hope to be enjoying plenty more lunches in this spot. Not to be missed if you are around Teynham 🤩

Pop in for some dinner on Wednesday evening I had the Chicken Caesar Burger for mains for dessert Srawberry Eton Mess washed down with some Whitstable bay Pale Ale 🍺

Lovely place. The food was really good and the staff were lovely. We did not feel rushed at all, we had a really lovely evening.

14 of us went to the Dover Castle Inn and had the best night ever. The food and service is first class. Staff are friendly and even though we were a large group, the food was served in a timely manner and was lovely, fresh and hot. I cannot fault it.

Charged £15.40 for 3 drinks - two pints of soft drink and one of Guinness. Teynham is hardly Whitstable. In fact that's worse than London prices, when two of the drinks costs pennies. Otherwise the pub was nicely done out.

Came here for a family celebration, Jocelyn's Baptism. Staff are excellent and the food is delicious. The selection of sandwiches and other savory treats on the buffet was very good and enjoyed by us all.

Dropped in for a late lunch, early dinner, full menu available. Normal pub offerings, served and presented well, tasted good and good portion sizes.

What a beautiful place this is , it's decorated so homely every where you looked there was something to see. We visited for a birthday celebration .and there was at least 20 of us some with small children. They have a great outdoor eating area plenty of parking round the back and disabled parking at the front. The prices were fantastic and the food was outstanding. They have a large selection of food and special menus which have vegetarian options. They made adaptions to some of the food for the some of the guest with allergies.. We had a large room for our sitting. The staff did such an amazing job when it came to split g the bill they made it easy to do that. We got to experience it all as it was such a sunny day. Also by the car park at the back there was this beautiful field with horses. Not sure what it's called but such an added bonus to this business as a surrounding area The children were so happy there which is something great if your eating out with children. As I am writing this I am still thinking about the food. 💯 Recommend you visit this place. Thanks for making it a lovely day an a huge thanks to all the staff who worked so hard

Nice place to eat. Food can be hit and miss.

Was a great evening of music at the Dover Castle. The promised open mic session never materialized but that didn't spoil the night. The pub has a great family vibe and the food was very good. An easy five stars as I'd not been there in a few years but the experience was just as good or if not better than I remembered.

I absolutely love the food here. It's always cooked beautifully and plenty there. Since changing hands the menu has become abit smaller and not as much choice as before. But the food is still amazing and we will definitely be back again.

Busy Sunday Lunch served by very friendly and helpful staff. The music was a bit loud in our section, but the food and the service were great. Happily recommend to anyone after a decent pub lunch!

Massive portions of food and lots of choice for drinks at the bar. Tables were just a bit sticky and we were in a dark corner which felt a bit out the way. Will be going back again, but will make sure I'm hungry!

I was very disappointed. Unfortunately the photos seen on their site isn't a turn likeness. As for the food, disappointed doesn't cover it. Our food came out with a moat of gravy. You would expect to be able to serve yourself the gravy, ie It to come out in a gravy boat! Vegetables were either under cooked or over cooked. I think the site photos of food and the interior of the Pub are very misleading. Only positive thing, was the portion sizes of meat. Yet not enough to make me return.

Booked a table for Sunday dinner and the whole experience from start to finish was appalling. Each ordered a roast dinner (2 Turkey and 1 lamb), the meat servings were very generous but the roast potatoes and parsnips were cremated and everything on the plate cold. The vegetables were served separately and they were hot. Food was placed on the table and they just walked away, no ask if we needed anything ie condiments etc. They only cleared the table after we had waited so long we started clearing it ourselves. I had to go to the bar to get condiments and more drinks because at no point was we asked if everything was OK and if we would like more drinks. The dessert menu was left on the table and again had to go to the bar to ask someone to take the order. Desserts came out and the portions were tiny for the price and one dessert didn't have the ice cream as stated on the menu. Again no one to the table to clear away so we left the table and went to the bar to settle the bill. We were asked if everything was OK and when we informed them of the poor service and state of the food we were told the details would be passed on and that was it. Wouldn't visit again which is a shame because with the atmosphere in the place this could have been a nice meal. £70 wasted on awful food and shocking service.

Its a very loooong time since I visited the Dover Castle Inn. Its been refurb since then and it defo does it justice. Bar staff are great and the Sunday Roasts are one of the best I've had for price. Worth a visit.

Used to drink in here when I was 18 (I’m 50 now), when I used to live in Kent. Ray ran it then, lovely old pub, wonderful memories. Good to go down memory lane! Looks like it’s still a lovely pub!

Lovely Kent pub. Visited for my mum's birthday and as a large group with kids they were able to accommodate us. Highlight has to be the food which is great. Photo is of my burger, but as a group we ordered several menu items and all were amazing. Note, portions are huge! Would rate five but two things let them down and arguably 3 stars might be appropriate but the food saved them. First issue was slow service. We were early by 45 mins and they kindly accommodated our large group, but our food came 45 mins after our original booking, 1.5 hours after seating and 75 mins after order. That felt excessive and we also then had to chase condiments and a bread portion which was part of one of the orders Second issue was as a Shepherd Neame pub I'd expect more than just two beers on tap. At the very least a few bottle varieties if not another pump or two.

Just had a family meal Nice food good portions and well presented and nice staff would recommend.

Stopped here for Sunday lunch when passing through. They managed to fit 6 of us in without a booking (said we only had an hour as the table was reserved which was absolutely fine with us-hate waiting about anyway) 5 of us had different meals and they were ALL outstanding and delicious!! The staff were very welcoming and friendly also. This is somewhere we will definitely go to again.

Food was lovely and plentiful could not have asked for better, only down side to this restaurant was the service waiting staff and floor manager need to be trained, starters served promptly, no call back, didn't ask once if starter was ok , hadn't finished starter and the main course arrived, waiter was left standing with mains till another waiter rushed and cleared the table... mains were served not once did any of the many waitresses asked if we was OK with our meals or did we require another drink or anything else , when they were clearing the table waiter asked if coffee was wanted, I said yes one coffee please 15 minutes later still no coffee, I asked again for a coffee which did arrive promptly and wasn't charged for... redeemed....

It only has one star for food hygiene. Why? No idea. Have eaten here for years and never had a bad meal, nor a bad pint. The only issue I have is that the portions are far too big, so for those who insist on a three course meal....good luck!!

Amazing food reasonably priced and lovely atmosphere.

Food was ok, but could tell the potatoes were not fresh. Meat was nice, but wafer thin (as if pre-packed. I personally think that the food was over priced considering I have eaten other roast dinners elsewhere for the same price or less with everything being fresh. However, the staff were friendly and offered a good service. Toilets were clean as were the outside areas. They also had a park for the kids to play which is fairly rare these days.
