The best restaurants serving Default food in Bargate Southampton South East

10/10 restaurant, would very much recommend to anyone. The food here has repeatedly been among the best meals i've ever had, and it always feels like a very fancy dinner. We got to meet the chef the last time we went, and had a great conversation about what to choose on the menu. Really can't recommend enough, definitely worth trying!

I currently live in Thailand, where Indian food is absolutely top-notch, so my standards are pretty high. I visited Tap & Tandoori in hopes of finding a great Indian restaurant in the UK—and it did not disappoint! Everything I tried was delicious, but the standout for me was the Chicken Palak—rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I also had the samosa and chicken tikka, both of which were excellent. The cocktails here are just as impressive. I tried the “Sugar and Spice,” their Indian twist on an Old Fashioned, and it was fire—a perfect balance of bold and smooth flavors. Big shoutout to my server, Sumin, who was incredibly kind and attentive. Great food, amazing drinks, and fantastic service—I would absolutely recommend Tap & Tandoori.

The large chicken shish with a can of drink was £18, and you can only pay with cash. Normally, chicken shish is a grilled chicken filet, but here was not grilled. I did not get any tomatoes or cucumber or onions, only some lettuce with running garlic sauce. I don't recommend this place. If you don't know how to do it, don't do it!!!

I went to the restaurant for lunch with friends. I cannot fault the food, but there isn't a lunchtime menu. I did go for the lamb, but £50 for a meal, a beer, and service is a bit steep for lunch

Really lovely restaurant and the staff were so welcoming! Went with a group and everyone loved the food. We were the last table in the restaurant and never once felt rushed. Definitely recommended when in Southampton!

First visit to Bangers 'n' Burgerz, my boyfriend had been mentioning coming here for ages. I was really surprised at the variety and number of vegan options. I got a Boston Foot long and it was immense. Loads of sauce and onions on top too. If there was anything to complain about it's that I had difficulty fitting it in my mouth 😅 I definitely recommend grabbing some napkins before tucking in. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and the music was great too. The art that covers pretty much every surface is fun and energetic, and was great to look for different characters in.

This is the best steakhouse in Southampton. We took the chef’s recommendation for steaks and they were perfect as was the customer service by Hung! Hung was knowledgeable about the menu and recommendations. Thank you for a great evening.

Food was delicious, had the special with my wife and daughter the korma. Mine was a very well balanced dish, spices just right, the service was very friendly and accommodating of my wife's allergies also. Highly recommended.

Great and efficient service from Luke and Chad. Food was delicious, karaage was very flavourful. Highly recommend the poke bowl.

Bacon Brioch bun. Extremely salty bacon, far saltier than I've ever tasted before anywhere else. Nice Latte.

Excellent menu with delicious flavours, all tasting fresh and authentic from Malaysian and Chinese cuisine. Halal options also are available and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. Head Chef and front of house are doing a great job.
