We walk in Norbury Park most weeks starting at Crabtree Lane in Great Bookham. We usually aim to stop for a coffee at the van called Wild About Coffee which is located by the now sadly closed Saw Mill. It a great place to meet other walkers many with dogs. The service is welcoming. We pay by credit card.

Thank you so much to Shere Delights for making my 17yo daughters day (and ours). After a hot, 5 mile walk around the stunning Surrey Hills, we called here to grab an ice cream and sit by the stream. My daughter has Coeliac Disease (no gluten), which makes getting an ice cream on a cone near impossible. As soon as we mentioned it, the member of staff opened a new honeycomb ice cream tub, used a clean scoop, changed her gloves, got out a gluten free waffle style cone, and made sure she handled everything without access to cross contamination. The ice cream was delicious and enjoyed by all. Thank you, team! 100% recommend.

I hesitate to criticise such a well-known and well-loved Italian trattoria which has been built up by Carlo himself over more than 27 years and earned an excellent reputation during this time. My husband remembers the early days and it is the reason we have visited on three separate important family occasions. The most recent being just before Easter, 2025. Yesterday, in fact. I believe that if the owner and, indeed, the creator of the establishment, visits your table you are honoured and I take it as such. But, I was unable to make eye contact or receive a smile back. I would be most grateful if Carlo could please give me a reason as it bothered me. Thank you.

Warm place for a reviving lunch on a cold December day! Very friendly and efficient service, and tasty food.... three of us had the mushroom and thyme soup and it was really good. Panini also much-enjoyed, and good coffee. Nice clean facilities, too, with plenty of hot water. Only quibble....I appreciate this is a dog-friendly venue, as it's right by a very popular area for dog-walking, and whilst all the dogs in the cafe were very well-behaved, one owner was letting her Daschund stand on the seat meant for humans! I think this should be flagged up as a 'No no!' for diners, please!

Booked a table for a very large group for a special family birthday. Staff were really helpful and accommodating during the booking process and especially so when we managed to add an extra 6 to the table on the morning of the booking! The staff on the day were fantastic, so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and brought out so quickly and all together, which was amazing as our party was so big. Huge thanks to you all, you really helped to make my Mum's birthday super special - I'm so grateful. Would definitely recommend!!

We have been visiting for 10-15 years, new owners since Covid. Sorry to say, it’s lost its appeal. Shabby room, mouldy window frames, mould on shower door, toilet difficult to flush. Bed side tables that were so unstable they were unusable. No maintenance on site to remedy or staff to swap. Unfortunately food in pub both in the evening and breakfast was very disappointing.

We had a fabulous lunch at the William IV pub. Attentive and friendly welcoming staff...We started with the exceptional Pine cured trout for my wife and the delicate delicious crab ravioli for myself. Our taste buds were tingling, then onto the mains, asparagus, black olive and burrata risotto for my wife, which she loved and a ribeye steak for me with Café de Paris butter and boy it didn't disappoint! It was the finest steak I've had for quite some time, for me it was perfection on a plate, glistening, juicy with the fat perfectly rendered. All washed down with a very good bottle of Viognier. Highly recommend this country side gem.

Oh dear, when imheard that there was a pub in Surrey that brewed its own beer, I just had to give it a go, popped in and waited at the bar, after a couple of minutes a barmaid appeared and I ordered a pint, after pulling it, she yelled to someone out the back, is the beer meant to be cloudy, she poured another one that to be honest didn't look a lot better, I ordered a croque monsieur, I sat down, the beer definately had seen better days, then a burnt cheese and ham toastie turned up, that is nothing like a good croque, left half of the beer, and half the toastie, won't be back
