Gomshall Mill in Guildford

Great menu but having just done a long walk, couldn't resist the fish and chips! The best I've had for a long time. Dog friendly and friendly staff who have excellent service.

We thought we would try Gomshall Mill for a last minute meal for 4. Over the years we have eaten here but not under the new ownership. It was a lovely evening, and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very friendly, made us feel very welcome and they were attentive but not pushy. The food was delicious with a great choice. We will definitely visit again

Found Gomshall by chance when researching places for lunch in the surrounding area. Our lunch was absolutely one of the best we've had. The food came quickly even though this was a very busy Saturday lunchtime. We sat upstairs in a barn-like area and were well attended by young well-trained staff. The food itself was fantastic and the portions were huge. Thank you Gomshall Mill. Wish we lived nearer but will definitely be returning.

Booked here for my husband’s birthday lunch. On arrival, the man at the desk wished my husband a happy birthday, which I thought was a nice touch. We were seated upstairs and shown to our table. Presented with menus and offered drinks. We ordered our food and when the food arrived was hot and tasty. We were full, so only I had dessert and coffee. The pub was busy for a Monday and had a good atmosphere. The staff were attentive and service was good. Look forward to returning to try out the Sunday lunch.

I cannot recommend this restaurant too highly. Friendly staff, good atmosphere and above all the most delicious food. Wild boar and apple sausages with parsley mash was a joy followed by the most gorgeous cheesecake and compote with white chocolate nuggets and honeycomb crumbs. Can't wait to go back.

We had a work lunch as a large group. The welcome, service, food and drinks were all excellent. This was particularly impressive given the size of our group. My pork terrine starter was super tasty with a homemade piccalilli. I was able to substitute dauphinois potatoes instead of cheddar mash with the leg of duck: delicious. I really like what they have done to revive the GM which was very shabby and dark previously. The restaurant was full for midweek lunch so booking advised.

We have our daughter at Surrey University and were taking her back to her to her accommodation after some Sunday Lunch. I booked it 2 weeks ahead and it was very busy so lucky to get a table. The service was very friendly, the food was really good, the venue is really nice and the price was very reasonable too. Great big yorkshire puddings and then the bread and butter pudding was great. We will definitely go there again.

We visited on Saturday evening to celebrate my sisters birthday. The food and service was absolutely wonderful and we can’t thank Jill enough for how well she looked after us. Really recommend for any big get together and look forward to visiting again soon.

Stopped off for a drink and some lunch on a beautiful autumnal drive through the Surrey hills. We hadn’t booked. They were very busy. We were looked after, had a seat at the bar, waited patiently for a table and rewarded with one by the fire . Staff Checked how our meals were. We both had a lunch sandwich with fries, was filling and tasty

The food is very good. I had Chicken breast and the the dauphinoise potato was tasty as was the red cabbage. The red wine, smoked bacon and tarragon gravy was delicious. The pub has been nicely done up and it was a good experience all round.

This was my 3rd visit to The Gomshall Mill since it was under new ownership. On every occasion we haven't been able to fault the food, but on every occasion the service is just too slow!!! The last visit it took an hour for someone to take our order, not good enough sadly to inspire me to return any time soon.

The best experience of the meal was the ambiance and comfort. The Gallery is very tastefully refurbished and decorated. However, the meal was average and was surprised that the chicken and tarragon pie was served with a red wine gravy… far too rich for the subtle taste of the pie. The only veg apart from mash was cabbage. This is most unusual these days not to have another green or root veg. Service pleasant but a bit slow. I will return as live locally.

First time we'd been here under the current owners - what a fabulous meal! We had the prawns to share - they were gorgeous and the batter was really light and crispy. The pork belly was our main of choice and that was delicious. The service was great, the background music was subtle and mellow. Thank you Gomshall Mill - we'll be back!

The Mill has excellent food (including a good selection of vegan options), is dog friendly, has fantastic service, a great atmosphere, and idyllic pub location.

Service was friendly and efficient. Our server was Isabel who looked after us very well, despite our choice of puddings being unavailable. The atmosphere was buzzy and cosy. The food was delicious and well-presented. Parking was easy.

Fantastic full English, well priced. Very friendly and a beautiful location. We had our wedding reception here in 2002 and live local but busy lives mean we don't get back very often. The pub is under new management since we got married they are really friendly and the service is great .

Beautiful location and wonderful food. They also have a play area with several climbing frames for the children to play on. The only reason this isn’t 5* is the service was quite slow but we were able to soak up the sunshine whilst we waited.
