A lovely dog friendly cafe with fabulous walks nearby with views across the Surrey Hills. The dishes were tasty and generous with plenty of options to choose from. A great place to meet up with family with the dogs part of the family too.

Nice weather, great views, good walk and then breakfast. Had booked which was good as they were so busy. I was worried about the service given how busy they were but nothing to worry about. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The menu appeared comprehensive and I was so impressed with the quality. Thats a great way to spend a Sunday morning.

A great little cafe with a good amount of seating both inside and out, with a covered area outside as well. The coffee was nice and lunch options varied. There is a good selection of cakes to choose from. Lunch, coffee and cake for 2 was just over £40. Would definitely recommend in the area. A great place for lunch.

Disappointing experience. Chaotic service with confused menu orders. Very expensive for the quality, quantity and presentation of food. Had better breakfasts cheaper and better presented more or less anywhere. Very helpful waitress but I suspect the kitchen got everything confused and there were only seven people in our party! Would think twice before going again.

We had a great experience here the other day. This cafe restaurant was busy so we had to park a newlands corner across the road. The staff were friendly and even though it was busy the service was quick. We both ordered burgers for lunch, which cost £16 each. My own burger was the plucky pheasant beef burger, with cheddar and chilli jam. This was a mighty burger, that had a great taste, texture and was filled with toppings. It came with crispy french fries and a salad. Loved this burger! My other half ordered the Southern fried chicken burger which was also good, though not as epic as the beef burger. Worth knowing this is a dog friendly cafe, and at busy times like this there were about 10 dogs in the tented area where we were seated. All well behaved and a joy to see 😀 Updating based on our second trip here, as ever great atmosphere and place to get some excellent food. This time around I had a Moroccan lamb sandwich which was superbly tasty, my other half had the chicken panini which she wasn't too impressed by. The salad dressing looked a bit strange but worked well flavour wise . We sat indoors to order lunch, it was cosy, the staff were friendly as usual and food arrived promptly.

Booked a table a week ago and noted on the booking that I had a baby and a buggy. So on a colder day today when we visited they reserved us a table outside! I mentioned this to the waitress (Rachel) and said that I have a baby and she couldn’t have cared less. She did end up finding us a table indoors in the end but then walked off, not directing us to the right table and was very rude when I mistakenly sat at the wrong table (when actually the reserved sign could have just moved to the table I was meant to sit at). The service was poor and when my friend noted her nut allergy it seemed more of an inconvenience for the waitress than it is for my friend ordering something! It’s a lot of time/energy and coordination to go out with a baby and today’s experience was very disappointing. Food was delicious as usual but note the venue is not accommodating to pushchairs so avoid unless the sun is shining and you can sit outside.

The lunch menu looks interesting, but that's where it ends. The quality does not live up to the description. My avocado was a brown sludge, and the poached eggs were hard. My friends food was better but dull. No one came to check how it was, and it was difficult to catch their attention. The waitress did agree to take my lunch off the bill, very decent. However, this was somewhat spoiled by the manager glaring at me when we left. The location provides a good view over the surrey hills. Food is over priced.

A cake on thier premises, I will not be using them again for a birthday breakfast, not a thing was mentioned during our booking, arrival with our cake, only once we had eaten and the cake was requested!! We are frequent visitors over many years and also visit the Dabbling Duck. The service last weekend was really poor. We weren't offered a menu/or welcomed at all. We had to get our own menus. I ordered 2 portions of chips and specified that each of my children would have the chips, they arrived on one plate. Our server did not look happy about having to get another plate. We were not offered any condiments, we had to get our own. No one asked us if the food was okay or if we needed to order anymore drinks. Everyone seemed to be abandoned outside after they had ordered their mains. For the prices of the mains it would have been nice to be offered some tap water. Obviously we had to go in to get our bill as no one would have asked us if we wanted it. Then the sting of having a nearly £5 service charge automatically added to my bill. I have definitely been when you have been busier, there were surplus ladies standing around the kitchen area looking lost and bored. I sent an email to the manager last week and no response.

First visit to this place, when we arrived we waited outside by the sign to be seated and chose to seat in the garden. It is in a lovely location with great views. It was early afternoon so we told the waitress we were there for tea and cake, she brought us the menu and there were no cakes in it so we chose to have a scone each. In handsight, we should have asked about the cakes but as we explained that we were there for tea and cake I thought mistakenly that there were none! I did wonder if we missed the cakes in the menu, but it wasn't that big. A friendly person brought us a large teapot of tea and plenty of milk, unfortunately, my cup was dirty, with tea in it! She was very apologetic and brought another teacup that was clean, but it wasn't pleasant to be given a dirty cup. The scones were ok, the cream did not taste great, I am not sure if it was clotted cream but I did not like it or tasted like what I know as clotted cream The jam was nice. When we were ready to leave, I walked inside to pay only to realise that there were loads of cakes!! I wonder why the waitress did not tell us about it, I think she assumed we had been there before. I paid around £16 for a pot of tea and 2 sconnes which was ok but all in all, the service was very poor.

Yet another eatery that thinks burgers are fine to populate 90% of the (main meals) menu with when there's so much more to consider. We chose the only other main dish, fishcake, granted it was made of real fish but with a meagre salad + fries it was just about 'ok' Burgers have become trendy not because they're anything special but because they are cheap. Made of the bits they can't sell and minced up with a bulking ingredient and soaked in fat. So, two fishcake mains, two milkshakes (one with squirty cream) came to £47 Inc SVC CHG. So, the atmosphere nice, service good and pleasant and the food was passable. Expensive and trendy. Expensive and really good I have no problems with, but this did not please.

Visited for lunch after walking at Newlands Corner which is just across the road. A nice sit-down alternative to the 'window service only' place in Newlands Corner car park. The welcome and service was excellent, the food was good. Lunch menu consists mainly of hot/cold sandwiches and burgers. Slightly expensive for what it is - £3.40 for tea with oat milk and £16 for a burger with fries, £5.50 for small portion of sweet potato fires. £8 for a childs meal plus £2 for a small carton of kids juice, so essentially a tenner per child. We sat inside and our visit was spoiled somewhat by multiple wasps landing on our food several times. They have wasp traps outside but we didn't spot anything to deal with this problem inside. We may have been unlucky, but they could do with doing more to address this problem in the summer. We'd return.
