I tried canopy coffee for the first time today and I'll definitely going back next time I'm in Guildford. Lovely latte and a friendly welcome.

The chocolate hazelnut cake is such a dream, really good! The people here are so sweet and even gave us an earl grey on the go 💛 highly recommend!

Warm cozy little cafe, great food that is fast and freshly prepared with a friendly welcome. Prices very reasonable. Beautiful cakes and yummy cooked options. Feed your hunger here!

This place is a bit of a little gem! We popped in here for coffee and some lunch and really enjoyed it. The coffee was great and we had the ham hock cheese toasty which was really tasty. Just sitting in here for 30 mins or so we noticed the staff chatting away to countless locals which is always a good sign of a friendly coffee shop. We will definitely be coming here again.

Always a warm welcome, and good coffee and cakes to boot. The staff are human, and will chat with you, and if something isn't quite up to scratch, if you tell them, they will do their utmost to fix it. The one time I did have a coffee that was just too bitter (it was the first one of the day), they adjusted the settings and made a fresh one for me.

Great place to grab coffee on your way to work. Also nice selection of food, with great people working here.

All the staff at Canopy are really lovely. One of the nicest cafes we've visited in Guildford so far, there's such a lovely vibe inside. Food and pastries are so tasty and the coffee is great too! Definitely not one to miss

Amazing coffee and carrot cake.

Probably the best coffee place in Guildford - Actually good coffee, very decent decaf too which is always a good sign. Cakes are delicious - The toasties are ridiculous (The New Yorker Reuben is my absolute fave!). Importantly, the staff are authentic, knowledgeable and super friendly.

We love the house coffee served here, and enjoyed a really well prepared flat white today. Their range of toasties is small, but excellent. We had a great New York Reuben and a vegetarian flat bread (falafel in the filling tasty, and not dry and heavy as can so often be the case). The range of cakes is tasty, with some interesting variations from the expected norms (including some Australian home favourites from the proprietor). Only a few places to sit in this small site so don't necessarily expect to get a seat, but always a good take away option if that suits you.

Greeted and served by a blunt, unwelcoming girl. Uncomfortable environment and coffee was just okay.

Really delicious coffee - not messing around, unapologetic, dark and mysterious kind of thing - with a full range of milks to choose from (literally every possible option!), and lovely service.

Waited outside for over 10 minutes to be served. One girl grumpily making toasted sandwiches and giving them to previous orders without even acknowledging all the people waiting in the queue to make their order. Very rude. Can’t comment on the food/drinks as we gave up and left.

Beautifully made Flat White made by Gary. Great texture, flavour and presentation. Inga was great at cheering up an unhappy child. Lovely filling Cheese and Ham Toasties accompanied with a spicy chutney :-) . I will try the soup. Also took a takeaway Millionaires shortbread.

It took 2 weeks and 8 take away coffees to find somewhere that makes coffee the way I like it. Super knowledgeable baristas as in the best in 8 cafes.

Just the most superb little coffee house, tucked away we’re you might not find it. Super knowledgeable about the different coffee varietals they serve. Properly made, properly served and if you want to learn more about coffee, just ask! Serve a lovely range of teas, cakes and light lunches too. An absolute must visit in Guildford!

Really great and cozy little spot, and super focused on coffee. There's very little in the way of seating (I think the biggest table, of which there are two, would seat five people at a squeeze), but there's a takeaway window. This is also not a spot to find food e.g. brunch, but they do have great baked goods; the banana bread was superb. The baristas seem to really know their stuff when it came to coffee and pulled a fab espresso. The flat white was also very nice and not overheated. They also sell fresh beans (from Monmouth Coffee Company when I visited), though price for these was a touch high compared to some spots.

No chocolate was served on my cappuccino, coffee was bland - perhaps a different variety required or wasn't ground correctly. Check out Bem Coffee in St John's, Woking for inspiration.

The BEST oat hot chocolate I have ever tasted . I genuinely wouldn’t mind traveling from London just to have it . Staff are polite , passionate and very knowledgeable in the coffee that they are selling . Highly recommend it .

Cute coffee shop with many choices of sweet ❤️ Friendly and helpful staffs, they recommended flat white coffee and carrot cake for me, totally love them both! 😍 The coffee smells good and tender with milk, and not so hot that you can sip straight away and won't burn you 😂 Carrot cake is super soft and fluffy with grain texture and sweet icing on top of it. One of the best carrot cake I ever had! ❤️❤️

Been a couple of times in a week. I'm definitely going back next time I'm in Guildford. I've only been there for takeaway, but would like to go back for breakfast or for a sit down coffee and cake. Able to buy some high quality coffee there too (Monmouth etc.). Customer service was excellent and I get the impression they really know and appreciate their coffee and they were happy to help me find a coffee I'd like.

Lovely to have Canopy open again, it's been all so well organised with a "hatch" type service to enable receiving of the best quality coffee in the whole of Guildford. I've been a couple of times this summer to cool off on a hot day with the cold brew - much my favourite at this place.

Best coffee in Guildford! Consistently great flat whites.

I went there yesterday, after ordering, I was told that they were not taking cash. The owner then moaned that I should take the coffee and would have to owe them the £5.35. I duly went back today and paid with a card. Whilst checking my bank statement I found out they charged me £5,75. Not fussed about the 40p but just useless, miserable people who served an awful coffee.Which is a shame as last time I went they were very good , I just hope you get them on a good day.

The best coffee in Guildford. Friendly, knowledgable staff and a great range of speciality coffee. If I had to criticise something it would be the comfy-ness of the seating, but it really isn't a big problem.

I went for the first time today! Like many others have said, the atmosphere was lovely, the staff were really friendly and of course the coffee was excellent. They also have a nice music selection. I stayed for about an hour and a half and got lots of work done. Overall extremely pleasant and I plan to come again.

The whole decor is really cute. I used to love having your coffee and pastries (huge almond croissants were my favourite) untill one day when I came with my friend. We were chatting and drinking our hot chocolate and matcha latte (without a doubt it tasted delicious) and suddenly we were asked to leave. The gentleman who was working there said "if you're finished with your drinks could you please leave because it's getting busier and other people want to sit as well". Never ever in my life such situation has happened to me before. I used to work myself in the coffee shops and I would never suggest a guest to leave if they're finished with their drink. I was shocked and also upset because I invited my friend there hoping he will have a good time and we've been treated in a very rude way. So what I would suggest is to be more polite to your guests because you might loose them and personally I don't feel like coming back to a place were I'm not feeling very welcome. Once again, the location, coffee and decor are all on point. Not saying all people are being rude who are working there. Didn't have a problem with anyone but only that one person.

One of my go to spots for breakfast in Guildford, and definitely a good place if a caffeine boost is then needed during day.Delicious, interesting coffee. Porridge with banana and chai seeds. Interested, engaging service. Just what I need to start the day.The pastries, etc, aren't my thing, but look delicious.Highly recommended.

The quality of coffee, atmosphere and the rather tasty cakes do make a visit to Canopy well worth its while to help the brain think when it needs some ideas. No office, home study or anywhere else could quite match it. I am amazed to find just how quaint sitting outside can be throughout the year when there's no rain and a crisp dry weather watching the nice afternoon sun. The whole setup of this coffee shop has been so well thought through and through. It's always a delight to come here and do some reading or scribbling with a pencil and paper but those who prefer to play with those pocket computer things can do so too!

So many 5 star reviews, can they all be wrong? Take it from a Barista. Canopy is the BEST coffee shop in Guildford. Hands down and by a long, long country mile!! And Yes, you should expect to pay 3 quid for a good coffee!! The owner knows his products, there are various coffee blends and quality herbal teas, and good chocolate. The staff are all competent and well-trained. The pastries and breads are fresh and locally baked, they cater to various tastes (vegan options) and can accomodate most requests, In contrast, if you love disappointment and dishwater, just head up the road to Cafe Nero. For a bit of extra sport, ask the barely-trained staff questions about their coffee blend .. Guaranteed laughs ..

We have been going to Canopy Coffee most weekends since it opened and have enjoyed taking our little dog in with us where she was always welcome. Unfortunately, yesterday we were turned away because a member of staff has a dog allergy - not sure why you would take a job in a dog friendly cafe if you are allergic to them? So disappointing and a big shame as there aren't enough dog friendly cafes in Guildford.

A bit too like the McDonalds ad for me. If all you want is a decent cup of coffee without too many frills and complications it is easier said than done here. I try and seek out independent coffee shops when I can but for me this one is trying too hard to be "artisan" and unique but actually forgetting that you need to serve a good coffee first. Very average coffee and overpriced.
