I had heard good things about the cafe but had never visited and was surprised how much room there is in the terraced area. It was very spacious with a large covered area as well as tables which caught some nice spots of sun. The area is walled so its sheltered from any wind etc. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and the food generous with good quality products. Its a great place to relax and get a good bite to eat away from the bustle of the high street and even though it was starting to get busy there was always a good sense of space and the adaptions they had made for Covid etc made you feel secure. The food felt very good value, highly recommend.

We stumbled on this gem by chance on a day trip to Guildford, and liked it so much we went back for second helpings later in the day! Set in the courtyard of a 17th century building, it’s sheltered and secluded. It’s hard to believe it’s in the middle of a busy English town. There was a good selection of traditional cafe food, which was reasonably priced, and very good quality. The service is excellent, very friendly, welcoming and very prompt. Would definitely go back again.

Second time eating lunch here but since I last came they've got a seating area outside with heaters which is nice as the cafe is small and cramped. The food is good, big portions and they offer gluten free bread. The only thing I didn't like was the ham, I don't think it was very good quality as it didn't have much taste so wouldn't have that again.

First of all, I wanted to give very special thanks to the owner of the Gallery Cafe who was wonderfully accommodating to my boyfriend and I when we requested we use our gift voucher out of the specified time limit. We couldn’t wait to come and try the food after reading the reviews and we were certainly not disappointed! We were welcomed by a very friendly waitress who had already set our table for arrival, and swiftly treated to an elderflower spritz. The afternoon tea speaks for itself, just look at the picture! Everything home-made and delicious the tea and coffee flowed throughout our seating. The courtyard is a beautiful retreat from the fabulous bustling high street, somewhere to relax after hitting the shops, and relax we did. It’s worth mentioning that the cafe is inside the tourist information office, which you must walk though and then down some stairs to the courtyard, I think that it could do with a little more advertisement outside because I fear people will miss out otherwise! Looking at the menu, soup, quiche and plenty of sandwiches and cakes are on offer, but I can highly recommend the afternoon tea! If we return to Guildford, we’ll definitely visit again. In fact, we may come back just for the cafe!

This cafe is a little gem tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the High Street. Through the main tourist information at the front and down the stairs into a court yard. The menu is quite simple, a delicious selection of sandwich fillings, with bread or ciabatta. A selection of daily specials, cakes and of course cream teas. Ideal for a lunch and a quiet catch up with friends or family. Reasonable prices with the soup of the day just £5. Be prepared if you are a coffee lover who prefers a soya latte. Only filter coffee is available. After lunch, why not browse the gift shop on the court yard.

What was supposed to be a nice birthday afternoon turned out to be the most disappointing ever. Absolutely awful afternoon tea. What a rip off. For £15 per person all we got was 3 small bits of finger sandwiches each. This is a very small café, I know there's outside space for the summer. The quiche was lovely but it came with half a plate of lettuce with just a couple of cherry toms, couple of slices of cucumber and couple of grapes plus a small amount of potato salad. This is a hidden gem of a cafe. Not sure you would find it without knowing it was there. The cafe inside is a small tearoom, with further seating in a large gazebo/marquee structure outside. In need of food and refreshments, arrived before the real lunch rush. Great timing, the cafe filled up shortly after. Initially opting for a sandwich, tasted the soup that had arrived and was fortunate to change my order. The soup was very tasty, hot, hearty, not too thick, warming and delicious, with chunky bread. I think it was tomato, chickpea and coconut soup. Just what was needed on a bright breezy day. Needless to say, staff were very polite and accommodating. Rounded lunch with a portion of delicious chocolate fudge cake (between 3!) wit tea and coffee. Definitely worth finding. Will certainly visit again.

The food was a good quality and at a reasonably cheap price. The meals were hot, fresh and the menu has a variety of sandwiches, ciabattas, jacket potatoes, cake and scones. There are a lot of sandwich fillers to choose from which adds variety and options. The jacket potatoes were fresh and cooked perfectly. We didn’t wait long for our food to arrive. Everything was great - the staff were really friendly, service was excellent, quick and the food was fresh and tasty. We had a jacket potato which came with salad and coleslaw and a sandwich with salad. I can’t fault the food, the only reason the rating is 4, not 5, is that the price was a little on the expensive side -£8 for the potato but it was reasonable for the quality. I would recommend this to anyone who fancies a quiet lunch in nice surroundings.

Absolutely shocking…been here plenty of times before and never been an issue..arrived to an empty pub and sat down to order lunch to be told by one of the owners that they won’t be serving us…we asked why and was told as they don’t want to…no wonder the pub is down hill when they get clowns to run them. Never in my life will I ever recommend them or give them a penny

Very disappointing. Firstly, 3 of us got our drinks rather quickly and the other 3 waited for ever. Secondly, ordered various Sunday roasts, 4 beef, 1 pork…..you could barely find the pork on the plate. 1 Lamb…..ran out of mint sauce. Perhaps be honest and let your guest know before ordering what sauces you have available. Manager blaming the previous Manger in the day for running out of everything.

Really friendly welcome. Kitchen and cafe area were very clean. The garden extremely tidy, must be great for a spot to sit outside on the way to your summer holiday destination. Food was excellent. Very fresh, not greasy at all. The toilets for the most part were clean except no toilet seats in either of the gent’s cubicles. If you use sat nav with postcode to find, be careful not to drive past as it will take you 100m past the cafe.
