We stopped at this spot after a long flight and it was just what we needed. It should be on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives - not a fancy place, but good food, good service for a good price. So if this is what you are looking for (see photo below) this is the place.

We get great service from the charming staff. It is fantastic value for value you wint leave hungry and the coffee is good too, now a regular haunt.

First time I’ve been here since it had new owners. It used to be a regular place on a Sunday with my son for breakfast. My other son took me there on Father’s Day for breakfast. It was very good. All cooked perfectly and I couldn’t actually finish the Woodbridge Special ! Highly recommended !

Ordered 2 set 5 breakfast which came without chips , hashbrown and without toast. Paid 25£ including delivery for 1 egg two bacon's a sausage and 1 salad . What a joke 👿👿👿

Haven't been here in decades, but the place looks cleaner than it did in the 1970's. Has 5 stars on the green badge. Had a lovely cooked breakfast. Unfortunately I got milky coffee instead of black, but I didn't fuss. Then as I was leaving I saw the chef holding a sausage with the sleeve of his hoody, whilst slicing it for someone's sandwich! At least he wiped it on his trouser leg after.

The new all day breakfast wrap was amazing Sausage egg bacon hash brown and beans all in toasted wrap! Will definitely be ordering again

I would completely Ignore the negative reviews here, Ive tryed all the cafes in Guildford, most of them are shocking!! First time here today and was a Absolutely Amised, food was lovey sausage very good quality, chips was very nice, Black pudding, bacon spot on, very good service Overall definitely a 10/10 and will be only coming here in future shame about the parking but its worth, if park far to have a walk down!

I found this cafe overpriced what I had today was £10.70 For exactly the same meal I pay £7.20 Egg was fine also bacon good but the beans were lukewarm also you pop in for a breakfast and don’t expect to wait 25 mins. I only have 30 mins for lunch This is my 3 rd visit but all 3 times have been disappointing Also both members of staff could do with some clean cloths I was pleased when this reopened but sorry will not be back .Also I do know what I am talking about having had a sandwich bar for 10 years and a cafe on a airfield for 8 years You have the B&Q burger van just down the road take a look how they run there operation

Got the breakfast since it swapped hands turned my stomach waited a hour for a simple breakfast however they cook the egg it tasted disgusting like the cheapest sausage you could use bacon cooked in a press horrible i left that 15 mins after leaving i feel sick i would have 20 pound not to have eaten it dont go make you feel sick after first and last time just pick up a menu feel the grease on the menu

I used to love coming here. The menu was always the same for years and I got what I wanted every time at a really good price. A classic English greasy spoon. Since the new management took over, things have gone downhill I'm afraid. They're very friendly, but they've changed their menu for some inexplicable reason and now there's not really a decent set breakfast without swapping things out and mucking around. They've got one of these stupid touch screen tills that just complicates everything and after telling them what I wanted 5 or 6 times they still got it wrong. They also seem to have changed suppliers - the sausages are not as nice and the fried slice is not as good as it used to be. Mine was soggy. A bit of a shame. I used to go out of my way to visit.

8 inflatable ribs went in convoy to this spectacular little hidden gem. We pre-ordered lunch. The food was to die for and some of the best food we’ve had in quite a while. The staff were amazing, very helpful and extremely organised !! Thank you to Susie for your attention to detail and quality of your superb food … sitting under the beautiful trees overlooking the river was just magic🙏🙏🙏

I think that the cafe has recently changed hands. I've been twice since this happened and enjoyed my food and the experience. The real pain is the parking. Thanks to the local council taking away spaces, it's a bit more challenging. Not the cafés fault, obviously!

Great place for breakfast, a bit tricky to park, use to be able to park right outside, double yellow lines now. Parked a bit further down the road and walked up. Hits the spot for breakfast.

Nice traditional cafe with a good choice of breakfast items including sautéed potatoes and properly cooked bacon and eggs. The sandwiches and baguettes are good too and good value.

The quality of food has gone down hill a bit recently. It was always standard cafe grub but it was good standard cafe grub, now it's all a bit "meh"; my delivery box was swilling around with water from the mushrooms and the scrambled eggs were a weird congealed lump. Also, they managed to leave out the sausage from my bacon, eggs and sausage breakfast... Tried to contact them but the number didn't work. A bit shoody tbh and such a shame. Will think twice before ordering from them again.

A little bit pricey, but the breakfast was ok! I ordered a Woodbridge special that came with chips, but I asked for saute potatoes and got charged an extra 55p! Oh and toast was an extra 10p instead of bread and butter! Total cost £9.55

I haven't had a chance to visit Woodbridge Café in a long time. Never mind, it is still the best café. Certain things never change. Thank you Woodbridge café.

Good old fashioned cafe. Deals with the working person mainly. When you ask for something different than on the menu it isn't a problem.

For friendly welcoming staff, good food and service in a beautiful situation overlooking the river this is the place to go. If you pick the right days you can also take a tour of the historic Wodbridge House adjacent to the restaurant.

Good, hearty no nonsense food at reasonable prices, all freshly cooked on site. New look is very smart, gone are the benches and trestle tables to be replaced with an American diner vibe. Good challenges seem to have gone which is a shame!

Friendly and an easy way to have breakfast

Ordered from Deliveroo twice and the food is amazing! So reasonably priced and food always comes hot and well packaged! Love that they wrap it up in cling film or tin foil if you order baguette/panini and if order breakfast they put beans in pot to keep rest from going soggy! My new favourite cafe sure!xx Only thing I would add is it does say it included a tea which I have never received which is really disappointing.

Ok for a reasonable transport cafe style breakfast, though I've had better food elsewhere. It was quite cold in there first thing in the morning in February. The coffee had actually come from a bean, rather than a tin, which was a positive.

We were so excited to try the number one place on TripAdvisor but unfortunately we’re disappointed. The menu is typical English cafe and breakfast - the hash browns were fantastic and portion sizes generous. The chips could be better and could be less of them and more other things. The main disappointment for us was the service. We were served by a woman who was clearly having a bad morning. Her attitude was appalling.

Don't go there often but I always have an enjoyable experience when I do. The atmosphere is friendly, there's a broad mix of customers, and the service is always excellent. If you're after a quality English breakfast, with a decent variety of choice, and a good cup of tea then look no further. It can get very busy, Sunday mornings in particular finding a free table is pot luck, but it's popularity speaks for itself.

I have been coming to this cafe for over 40 years on and off when i have been in Guildford and went in there the other day and was totally p155ed off all the tables and chairs had gone and replaced with horrible looking red plastic seating and and some tables that were too small for 2 people to put their order on and eat comfortably (the place looks like a poor man's American diner) then "shock - Horror" my meal was served up in a large size tinfoil take away container with plastic knife and fork, bread and butter in a paper bag and tea in a cardboard cup, only 2/3rds of the chips were edible due to the rest being burnt to a frazzle or so small you could almost thread them through the eye of a needle when i queried all this i was told that it is due to Corona virus which is a load of b0ll0ks, i eat 2/3 times each week in workmens cafes and ALWAYS get china plates and mugs with metal knives and forks i also on occasions travel to Europe eating in the truck stops and again have never been served food or drink in take away kit the next thing you know they will meet you at the door and issue you with an army 24hr ration pack and a hexi stove i am really sorry that the previous owners sold out to these guys who have destroyed this once wonderful cafe I AM SAD THAT AFTER COMING HERE FOR 40 PLUS YEARS I WILL NEVER SET FOOT INSIDE IT AGAIN Please feel free to read my review on the Astolat cafe in Aldershot which is only about 9 miles away

I regularly used this place in the 1970's when it was purely a transport cafe and we all parked our 40 footers outside. (less parking restrictions in those days) Now its builders and reps and all sorts, and the food, the staff and the value are just as good if not better than ever - -- highly recommended !1

Horses for courses and all that, you have to try this place for your lunch. The first thing you notice is, ALL WALKS OF LIFE eat here. A greasy Spoon cafe that actually is not greasy and you can see the chefs cooking your food to order in the kitchen. You always end up coming out of the extremely full and not wanting to go back to work and i always make a friend in this place. Everyone is so very friendly, staff and customers alike. Sautee potatoes anyone.......

Had a early breakfast here and was not disappointed we went for the 5 egg omelette special which was huge and full of flavour and no grease at all . This was all washed down with an excellent mug of tea in short a great british cafe thanks

Dropped in to treat myself had a meal consisting egg bacon mushrooms bread and a coffee cost 7.55.,0.55pence for a slice of bread. Could have had a meal for 4.95 which includes bread and cup of tea. So I think meal is extortionate. Server was also not cheary sullen more appropriate. Will not visit again. Server Could have suggested other option.

We decided to go to the Woodbridge Cafe as a result of its reviews and we were not disappointed. Good honest fry up at no nonsense prices... We especially loved the communal tables, mugs of tea and slices of bread! With two veggies and two carnivores, the breakfast kept us really happy... This is not a gourmet spot - it's a great no fuss locals cafe, perfect for that weekend fry up!

This place is quick easy and cheap the food we had was great jacket spud and a panini all good and super fast service worth stopping by if your en route

Apparently I’m not allowed to have half and half beans and tomatoes anymore,even accused of wanting something for nothing but you can change a mediocre sausage for and egg . Great food apart from that !

Maybe in looks but that's where it ends. A very wide ranging menu of traditional breakfast lunch or brunch but all prepared quickly and taste good, served by a friendly team. A small selection of chocolate bars and now Mr Whippy ice cream. If you dare take the mega breakfast challenge. 30 mins to eat a huge breakfast and if you succeed a full refund and a T shirt is yours coupled with a picture on the wall of fame.

This is the place for a good, basic, value for money breakfast. I had the basic breakfast, added mushrooms and had coffee and bread and butter and still got change from 7 quid.Food is good. Don't let the greasy spoon image fool you, it's a quality offering for a bargain price. Quick service too, so spot on for breakfast on the way into work if you want an alternative to your hotel.

Visited for Breakfast and they certainly have a wide range for all tastes and appetites. This is quintessentially a traditional “Greasy Spoon” cafe, something sadly lacking in Guildford, and there seems to be a motto of simple food and plenty of it. I ordered a large breakfast which was reasonably priced and tested my stomach capacity. They also offer a challenge meal for £15 which seems to consist of a weeks worth of carbohydrates and protein. If you survive you get it free and a T-shirt, and possibly a trip for a gastric band. Overall thoroughly recommended if you just want a simple meal, in any quantity.

Had some time spare and after driving past this place for years decided to pop in for Breakfast. Very glad I did. Decent price, decent staff and a great breakfast. Everything cooked really well and I was more than happy with the quality of all the ingredients used. Will be going back again after this.

Popped in for a quick bite, served quickly, food arrived quickly and was a proper cafe type fry up, great. It's a proper old style no-frills cafe and good value for money.

If you come here expecting a refined meal you'll be disappointed but if you want a hearty breakfast after a heavy night you're in luck! We enjoyed the big breakfast served with saute potatoes and beans with egg on toast. Cheap and cheerful.

After a long drive we fancied some good old fashioned sausages in a roll. Across the road is the Woodbridge Cafe and it was perfect. From just sausage to the egg, bacon & sausage baps they were all really appreciated. Baps were fresh, lightly toasted and perfect as was the contents. Great service and everything was wrapped in foil with a label to say exactly what was in the bap. We really enjoyed and so will you.

As a resident of Guildford I was very much looking forward to trying out what I've been told is a real Guildford institution. While the meals are certainly cost effective the customer service and general politeness and attentiveness of staff wasn't apparent to me.

I have to say this is a great place to eat, I really can't stand a cooked breakfast personally. Lucky for me I can have curry and chips for breakfast which I have now had 3/4 times

Ate breakfast here instead of the Travelodge where we were staying. It was about 11 minute walk. Both had the standard breakfast, one sausage, two bacon, one egg, baked beans or tinned tomatoes and a thick slice of bread and butter and a mug of tea, all for £4.95 each. Quality of food was good for the price. Would definitely use again and have told people that live in Guildford about this place.

Very wide range of variations of the full english breakfast served at a .reasonable price . This is an unpretentious ,basic cafe located on a busy road by Guildford cricket club. Famed for the breakfast rather than the ambiance. Service was well organised and effective.
