Make no mistake, The Albert Arms is back! Once the place to go in Esher, recent years have been disappointing, but no longer. New management, a consistently friendly welcome and a fabulous Sunday lunch. Deliciously pink roast beef, a proper Yorkshire pudding, perfectly cooked root vegetables and dishes of green vegetables and simply the best roast potatoes I have ever eaten away from home. Puddings were equally good, sticky toffee with caramelised bananas and ice cream was super and the Apple and red fruit crumble with vanilla custard received a rave review. Please go out of your way to enjoy a splendid lunch in a warm, friendly environment. We will be back. Thank you. PS If you prefer your roast beef less pink, say so, for our party it was perfect. One of the reasons the meat is so good is that is is sourced fresh from from Smithfield.

The food was lovely, service was average, a little abrupt and a bit slow, they had to ask for our table back, it took them half an hour to serve our first drinks so not surprising we were a long time, was never told we had a time limit at our table

From the moment we walked in, she made us feel incredibly welcome with her warm smile and friendly attitude. She went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, offering great recommendations and checking in just the right amount—attentive but never intrusive. What truly stood out was her genuine kindness and the way she made our meal feel special. It’s rare to come across someone who not only does their job well but truly enjoys making others feel at home. Tilly, thank you for your amazing service! This is genuinely one of the nicest pubs in Surrey, beautiful refurb, lovely beer garden, nice food. Unfortunately it's sometimes let down by staff. On some occasions they're slow to serve, other times they're not clued in to menu options or seating plans. We had one instance where we had questions about the Mothers Day menu and the server clearly had to guess (and admitted it was a guess) until I asked if he could check with the manager/supervisor, who was clued in and very nice. If the staff could just be a little bit more on the ball this would be a 10/10 pub.

🙁 What a disappointment. My order arrived missing the milkshake and the chips were stone cold. Won't make the mistake of ordering through deliveroo again. Shame as in the cinema the food is so good.

Never go here. We had to queue for 45mins just to get our food. Which was total disorganised chaos. Once we got our food, my son the was continually sick for the next 24hours. He didn’t had have bug so had to be the food!

I had the halloumi and avocado sourdough sandwich with a caramel latte and it was amazing. The coffee was made to perfection as sometimes I found people burn the coffee but this was amazing. The staff are friendly and kind too.
