I had the halloumi and avocado sourdough sandwich with a caramel latte and it was amazing. The coffee was made to perfection as sometimes I found people burn the coffee but this was amazing. The staff are friendly and kind too.

Arrived in Esher early for a meeting. Looking for full English breakfast as a no carbs option. Esher appears good for coffee shops but limited options. Got speaking to a fun lady serving in Esquires who explained the cooked breakfast option with all grilled ingredients. I opted for this minus toast, beans and hash brown for which they gave me extra sausage and bacon. Only took about 10 minutes and it was just right. Sausages amazing, bacon cooked just right. The place was half full by 10am and a really nice atmosphere.

Terribly slow service took 15 mins for 2 takeaway coffees. It was dead in there as well so no excuse. Decaff coffee so bad I poured it away. Don't bother.

Slow and poor service, outside tables are awful, by the bins…..took fifteen minutes to make a cold press. Scrambled eggs were microwaved. No excuse as there were only five other people

We visited here a while ago and it wasn’t a great experience then - however we decided to give it another try today and what a big mistake. The selection of food available was really poor and this was approx 1100. There were 3 sad looking pastries on the counter and we selected two of them. We were asked if we wanted them heated which we declined. It was only when they were brought to the table that we realised they were stale and rock hard, which is the reason for them wanting to heat them. It’s actually such a shame as there is so much that could be done to turn the place around - right now the prices are a rip off, food is such poor quality and we certainly won’t be back…..

Dirty and disorganised. Definitely needs someone to turn it around. Cakes were old and stale and coffee very poor. Go to one of the other cafes

Today was the second time we went to this cafe The first time we assumed we went on an off day as food was bad and service so slow We could have walked home and made the food ourselves We decided to give it another go today Ordered and paid for jacket potatoes and tea We sate down to see almost everyone else was chasing for long awaited. food. Eventually ours arrived after 25 minutes but no tea The potatoes were hard and old and barely warm We had to go to the counter to chase and get our tea - after approx. 30 mins There was no point in complaining - we would have only joined the queue of others doing the same We won't be returning - and we suspect none of those at other tables will be returning either AVOID - there are so many other good places in Esher

Hi, I visited your store in Esher on Saturday 23.4.22 and I just wanted to provide you with some feedback. I visited the shop with my wife, we are often in your shop and have always had an enjoyable experience with good service. Sadly this time it wasn't enjoyable. We had to endure the private conversations of your staff whilst waiting for our drinks which took approximately 10 minutes, there were only 6/7 other people in the shop who appeared to have already been served food and drink. The staff on duty were very young and seemed too interested in their own lives. There was two males and one female - the female was telling a story of how one of her male friends had kissed someone else and describing how unfair it was, her feelings etc. Whilst we sympathize with her a place of work isn't the place for this and we were sat in the area near the back door, so if we could hear her so could everyone else. After 5 minutes my wife politely enquired where are drinks were, seen as we had already been served our food and had eaten it. My wife said the staff were just standing there. After a further 5 minutes I went to the counter and asked is it reasonable to wait ten minutes for coffee which were only just starting to be made, no excuse was offered in fact the younger of the three was somewhat brush with me stating as he was the only one making coffee he would make it. Following this exchange I was offered a full refund which one of the staff actioned before I left, but I still haven't received this. I hope some extra training for the staff would be beneficial here and perhaps such young persons wont be left on their own in future. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards Iain Woodward

Filthy cafe, even a Christmas bauble on the floor!! toilet revolting.Coffee poor, brownie was stale. Will not return!!

Met my sister at 9.00 on a Saturday to escape the kids for a quiet breakfast. She orders Spanish eggs “sorry we can’t do that” so she swapped to bacon with pancakes. I asked for sausage and egg sandwich “sorry short of sausages”. Ok I’ll have eggs Benedict then. “Sorry we have no ham”….. out of most things by 9,00 on a Saturday morning! I ordered eggs royale instead. Food came. I had eggs Benedict. Fine I’m Not fussy and I asked for that originally. But clearly communication between the kitchen and front of house is poor My sisters bacon was cold. I had an un toasted muffin with no butter. Just out of a pack, cut in half and plonked onto the plate. Eggs seriously over cooked and hard. If you are working in a kitchen you should know you toast a muffin so it’s hot and it needs butter. Not difficult to poach eggs to be soft The chef here doesn’t cook half the breakfast and over cooks the other. It was all cold, dry and hard. Totally dreadful We had a polite quiet word as we left to explain why we were disappointed. They didn’t offer to re-do it, or discount or even a coffee. Waste of £23 but worse out lovely breakfast we had hoped for together we didn’t get We try hard every Saturday to support small artisan companies not the big boys but sadly we won’t be going back here, until the chef learns to cook.

Very unfriendly as we arrived, very few items available in the menus with not much guidance or encouragement to stay and order. We had nowhere to put our drinks as most of the tables have not been cleared away and weren’t cleaned. I would not recommend this restaurant - such a pity as it is in such a wonderful location. Staff needs training.

Like most of the other reviews on this place, I unfortunately have to concur on some of the comments. Service is slow, they weren’t massively busy (I now know why) and I had to chase for my food when the gentleman served after me received his food way before me. I also saw two other patrons come up to counter to chase their orders and the gentleman next to sent his food back as bread was stale. On a positive note, My jacket potato and coffee were lovely when they arrived. Such a shame, as this is a lovely little place with cosy feel but the staff and service let this place down.

Staff were pleasant although not overly friendly. Lovely little set up but could definitely do with a bit of cleaning and decluttering. The coffee was great and the food was pretty average.

Such a shame as this is a cosy place with quiet seating at the rear of the cafe. However, the service is really poor, we waited for ages, not the first time either. All we wanted were three cappuccinos. No such thing as popping in for a quick coffee here I’m afraid.

I pop in here every Saturday between chores for a coffee and a sandwich. Their smoothies are also very good. I prefer to go to an independent rather than a chain.

I should start by saying that we really like the coffee here.... But the staff are just awful! Rude, indifferent and not particularly pleasant, never mind friendly. On our last four visits, there were hardly any other customers around yet the staff could not be bothered getting our orders right. All they seem to care about is to have a good time chatting or playing their own music. They do not care about the experience of their customers. The other day there were three staff chatting very loudly with their two friends occupying all of the front part of the cafe. There was no music playing to at least mask some of their noise so we ended up drinking our coffees very quickly whilst listening to their pathetic conversation. Awful place I'm afraid.

Oh dear. This Café used to be good and I was expecting a pleasurable break with a cup of tea between appointments. The waitress said she would bring the tea to me so I went to sit down. There were empty seats and tables but several of the chairs hadn’t been cleaned so there were lots of crumbs. My tea arrived with a small jug of milk and looked pretty but was tasteless, even after squeezing the teabag. Meanwhile, 2 ladies who saw my tea arrive were twitchy because they hadn’t got their lunch order and one went to ask how long it might be. Apparently they had been there for some time, had already asked once & wondered if it would be very much longer. The waitress recited perfectly the order, so it clearly hadn’t been forgotten, She said she « would check« . Bearing in mind that there were less than 8 people in the cafe, the kitchen hatch is just behind the counter and everyone else was just having tea or coffee, it shouldn’t have been hard. When I left, 15 minutes later, their order was still somewhere in the kitchen...No apology, no clue about customer service, no customers looking likely to return. That might explain the empty tables.

We just called in for coffee and a sandwich. The young woman behind the counter was so indifferent to us being there. Her attitude towards us showed she couldn’t be bothered serving. Just not sure why she is there. We have been there before and loved it

Called in for Sunday brunch and got roundly ignored by staff Young man on the till not really listening to my order.We tried Turkish Baked Eggs which although described as Eggs in a spicy tomato sauce ...I certainly didn't imagine eggs in a bowl of siracha hot sauce , 1 portion baked through and 1 with raw runny eggs.Hot doesn't begin to describe itInedible and unsurprisingly no one asked if everything was ok ...rather carried on discussing the young man's cold virus up his nose.Couldn't get out fast enough Very disappointing

My boyfriend and I love popping into esquires for a coffee and panini. The staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is homely and welcoming. Their cappuccinos are also great! It’s our go to coffee shop.

Not the first time, the service here was slow. Took my family this time. My food arrived over 15 minutes before the rest of the family. One toasted sandwich was still white and had not seen a grill. A baguette had clearly just been thawed in a microwave. Will give this place a miss for a while

Arrived on a rainy afternoon, place not busy. Ordered a poached egg on toast, yolk hard as nails and bacon fried to frazzle. Tea didn’t arrive until my friends had drank theirs. Asked for a spare plate which never came. Overall poor service considering the place was empty.

Initially ignored by staff. When finally served incredibly slow service. Dirty cups. Coffee week and tasteless. Shame because the potential is there. An around unsatisfactory experience.

Extremely bad service was waiting over 20 minutes for a sandwich was asked 4 times if I wanted white or brown bread to which I said white. Only to be given brown bread which I do not like. My sandwich then came with sauce from another type of sandwich filler all over the bread from where they had cut it. It completely put me off. The food was bland and the bacon was so hard it couldn’t be eaten. I use to really like this cafe but it has gone down hill. I use to use most days but after this will never be returning.

Met my daughter for coffee and we decided to go here for coffee and a light bite. Staff were so busy chatting to each other, they asked us three times what fillings we wanted, when the baguettes came they had the wrong fillings and we’d asked for white baguettes and got brown ! Took them 20 mins to do coffee and cold filled baguettes unbelievable. Coffee was good that’s about the only positive. Will not be returning.

LES + : arrêt en voiture par hasard dans cette petite ville, petite pause gourmande et pas déçu ! Du choix à prix raisonnable, de la place, des gens du quartier, on sent le côté convivial ! Et c'est très bon.LES - : un peu + de sourire ce jour là aurait été sympa mais on va dire que ça arrive... Je reviendrais car c'est vraiment charmant, ça manque plutôt que des grandes chaines !

We’ve just had a very pleasant light lunch and cake and it was very enjoyable. Home food and tasty. If you’re in the area then this beats the usual high street eateries anytime. Worth a visit.

Slow service, we waited 20mins for an orange hot chocolate to be told they didn't have any orange syrup left. The normal hot chocolate was quite tasty though just shame about the wait to receive it.

Have been a loyal customer but today’s experience has sadly put me off for future . Chaotic service , poor communication ( if you let customers know it’s a 20 min wait then they won’t get restless) serviced in drips and drabs. Cinnabon finally arrived , warm ( a little dry), while munching away I saw loads of little mites/ants crawling out of it. DISGUSTING! Not sure what’s happened to this lovely cafe but def not as good as it was. P.s if a customer points out that they have been served an infested item of food an adequate response is required - not just “oh sorry”!

The coffee is excellent and the bacon roll I had was full of good quality bacon. Good location - if you park at the pay and display Elmbridge civic centre you can just walk in through the back of the coffee shop. Friendly staff, good wifi - what else do you need from your local coffee shop.

Quick business coffee meet in Esquires. Nice spacious cafe on the High Street. Relaxed and comfortable with nice coffee and food snacks. This is my go to cafe from now.

So shocked ,had to return a cake as was stale ,hard and tasteless to which server replied yes I was going to throw the rest out anyway ? he did replace with a slightly fresher but still taste less cake slice

A good place to have a coffee and a chat after the school run. I am often here with my friend and the service was always good.

We’ve been here a few times, and it’s great to have an independent coffee shop on the high street. There is also more on offer food wise and mostly good although I’ve had scrambled eggs here twice and both over cooked- possibly microwaved?
