Local pub that does great pub style food. Been for a few meals here now and they’ve all been great. Fish and chips deal on a Friday is superb. Good old fashioned pub food done really well can’t fault it. Lovely people working there as well.
I ordered a chicken fillet and asked over and over again for a fillet not only did I get this but it was also cold! The food is vile and I even paid extra for delivery
Never ever again

My son wanted to try their new nether sauce so I ordered him a plain burger meal with it on, when I approached the pay window I confirmed the order prior to paying and the girl at the window confirmed so I paid. When I got the order there was no sauce so I went in to get it only to be told they had none so I asked for a refund as my order was not what I asked for so the staff member said she would get the manager to refund it. When the site manager ( Mia ) came over she said she would not refund it as I got the meal, the sauce is a separate item and the hadn't charged for that, which shows they knew they didn't have it prior to taking my money. I said I ordered it as a meal not separate but Mia was adamant that they are separate and as I got the meal that I ordered they would not refund. I think they should of told me they didn't have it when I ordered at drive through and prior to taking my money.
We had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Strawbury Duck for two nights. We ate both breakfast and dinner and quite honestly we could not fault our experience. Jason, Cameron, Claire and the rest of the team were the most attentive hosts.
The rooms were lovely and clean with everything you’d need; complimentary toiletries, hairdryer, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits in the room and fresh towels every day. We slept like babies on the super comfy mattress!!
Food - where do I start! The food is AMAZING…it’s tasty, cooked to perfection, enormous portions and quite frankly value for money. As a Coeliac, I often struggle to find a decent GF menu, especially in a pub, but any Coeliac will not have this issue at The Stawbury Duck.
There was live music (sole guitarist) performing out on our first night, which created a really lovely vibe. It wasn’t too loud, so having a conversation wasn’t a problem.
The Strawbury Duck is an incredibly busy pub and is very popular with walkers, cyclists and locals and we can see why.
We had a lovely stay and look forward to coming back 😊
Six months ago I used to go for a hot cheese slice and a cup of tea and the hot cheese slice was one pound. It was delicious a bargain and well presented. 4 months on the cheese toasty increased to £1.50p and there was less cheese and a smaller slice of bread. This week the same cheese toasty looked even more sparse and it had increased in price to £1.60. Sorry to let you know pound bakery but people are going to stop coming into your shop. Your toast price increases are totally unjustified. The tea and coffee for£1 are brilliant value.
The fish and chips is delicious. The personal taking my order had a bad attitude as I only said I'm paying by card. Answer was really proudy as you don't accept card payments. But no worries il buy when that person not there.
I'm an old fart and been going here for the past 40 yrs. Realy nice turkish used to own it then, sadly no longer. Every time you go these days, the guys serving are either chilling in the back or on their phones. My most recent visit stsrted with a mistake on behalf of the guy serving. Then another and finally resulting in me having to return to the shop for a third mistake. There is absolutely no customer servicenin this place. Just take it or tuff sh!^#. Sadly after 40 yrs i wont be going again.
The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a casual night out. The sushi was fresh and beautifully presented, though some rolls felt a bit overdone. Service was friendly but a tad slow. Overall, a solid experience worth trying!
