The best restaurants serving Default food in Hindpool Barrow-in-Furness North West

My family and I visited this awful restaurant and was verbally abused by the owner of the restaurant. We had waited over an hour and half for our food. The starters thst arrived was the worst I have ever eaten. Food contained an awful amount of red food colouring, full of oil and was not seasoned at all. When we enquired where our mains was, the owner called me a bloody Indian and told me this was not McDonald's. He shouted at us in front of our three kids. I and my family was extremely traumatised by his behaviour. This has spoilt our vacation to the Lake district.

The food in this place really is superb personally I love the salt and pepper squid starter and the duck with mashed prawn main. All 4 of loved our choice of starters and mains the par far roll starter is always a favourite and a decent portion too. BUT WHY do they RIP YOU OFF on the soft drinks? Be warned a pint of soda water £3.70 and a pint of lemonade £4 for something that costs them about 20p a pint leaves a very sour taste on what is otherwise a great place.

Ordered a 12" pizza, they gave me a 10" pizza in a 12" box. Taking advantage that I've had a few pints. Happened many times so finally reviewing. Where's my 12" pizza.

Came for lunch with my mum to be told there was no tables even though I could see one, the man looked behind us at the 3 people standing as he wanting to seat a bigger table rather than us two. We pointed this out and he reluctantly seated us. Ordered our food and drinks, the drinks came with warm glasses so we had to drink out the bottles. The meals came, two chicken baguettes and chips. The chicken was cold and chips like warm, the baguettes were chewy and we were unable to eat them, the cheese on the chicken was solidified and rubbery and the chicken was soggy. Our order came out wrong to start with but we had waited long enough to start with. Been waiting 15 minutes still for management to come and speak with us. Definitely not worth our visit!!! When the manger was informed she looked at us and walked away

I have used Barrow takeaway for years and it has never disappointed until tonight. I ordered chicken and cashew nut and it was like an English stew, celery, carrots, huge pieces of onion, some Chinese veg chopped very small, incipit pieces of bland white chicken and watery sauce. It was the worst Chinese dish I have ever had, to top it all the chips were n cold and soggy. Will not be back refund or no refund.

Our visit was 8/3/25 I booked the table online, straightforward for someone who is not a tech wizard. The Townhouse is lovely, very welcoming, plenty of friendly polite staff ( makes a pleasant change as places these days are usually under staffed. We decided against a starter, but very good choices. A nice young man took our order. For the main, my husband had Lamb Henry served with ribbons of courgette & carrots with creamy mash potatoes in a mint & cherry tomato jus which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had pasta boscaiola which was onion, bacon, mushrooms, chilli & garlic in a tomato based sauce, it was delicious (compliments to the chef/s) hope they are the creative ones on our return visit. I’m sorry we didn’t get our servers name who was a lovely young lady, nothing was too much trouble, she was extremely polite & unlike some reviewers have said, she did return to ask if everything was satisfactory. We didn’t succumb to a dessert, maybe next time.

Me sentí muy seguro comiendo en este restaurante: mesas socialmente distanciadas, muy poco contacto con el personal, pedido en línea, sin opciones de autoservicio. La comida era deliciosa y se servía muy rápido. Solo le di 4 estrellas ya que pedí espinacas y cebollas rojas en mi pizza. La cocina se había quedado sin espinacas, con lo cual no tuve ningún problema, pero mi pizza llegó sin cebollas y tenía maíz dulce y pimientos que no había pedido. Estaba delicioso, pero no era lo que había pedido en absoluto.

Visité un bocadillo de té y un bollo un domingo por la tarde. He usado muchos de estos cafés y generalmente son solo promedio, pero el personal me pareció servicial y el bollo era muy bueno y fresco. Volvería

Gone downhill, never visit again, curry was over oily and watery, tasted not good. Must of had a change in chefs for it to be this bad, I will have to find another Indian takeaway now..

No puedo decir cómo era la comida, no recibí ningún pedido de almuerzo entre las 11 y las 45 a. M. Esperando hasta la 1 a.

The staff are all so lovely and I had a bit of a wait for my food but the lady behind the counter was so kind and lovely to me and I’ll will be coming back again

So I popped in with my obviously disabled daughter for a drink. My daughter had a seizure so she needed to sit down and have a drink. It was around 2.20. The woman that served us acted like she couldn't be bothered. I would have walked out if my daughter wasn't with me. But my daughter wanted a cake as well. So asked if we could have some cakes as they were still on display so I assumed we could purchase some. Then she said abrupt you do realise we are closing soon. Then said we I suppose I can do them to takeaway. She huffed like she didn't really want to. I thought I would look up opening hours online and they actually close at 3pm. The way she spoke to me I assumed she ment they closed at 2.30. I'll be going to McDonald's in future. F*** supporting local businesses if that's their attitude.

Chips were not good not be back there again looked a dirty

Amazing looking menu! Food disappointing. Burger inedible as cheap meat, one friend described as smelling like dog food, salt and pepper chips were just potato wedges, the chicken wings we couldn't touch as the looked like chickens feet! Very disappointed.

Not a lot on shelves, if you want to save don't go there or you will end up overpaying and if you gone there to grab a pizza forget about it ... no one there to serve you . Very disappointed. Never will go there again ... what's the point ?
