The best restaurants serving Default food in Loftus Redcar and Cleveland North East

Visited on the 29th December and the place was fairly busy but not full,went to the bar and tried to order two drinks ,which the bar staff had no clue of ,I asked for a gin and lemonade and a pint of lager ,very easy drinks to serve ,then was told to sit down as they had no clue of the prices and she was asking other staff members but all she was getting back was grunts ,very unprofessional,then after 20 mins sat there I saw the 3 people who cane a long time after get served there drinks ,so I walked out as the service was some of the worst I encountered for a long time Visited 6 other bars in saltburn as all were a million times better than this

Lovely coffee and fruit loaf. A hidden gem, always a friendly welcome with seating indoors and out. Worth a visit.Takes cash only.

Very pleased to report that this shop has reopened after a long closure. I got a substantial and tasty cod and chips here. Last time I got a sausage and chips - they stop cooking fish when getting near closing times, and when I arrived at 18:50 sausage and chips was the only dish on offer. Be careful of restricted opening hours, particularly early closing times in the evenings. Edit - since I updated the hours last week, they have changed again and the shop now closes at 7:00pm on Fridays.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good. Now I know I can freeze their meals, despite the fact we have to travel to get there, we will be back - if only to stack the freezer!

Asked for 2 lattes and got 2 very milky weak coffees. Disappointed as normally you get a nice latte from Camfields. The paper cups are a let down too the lids have a bigger hole when drinking it goes everywhere. Went in the bin today and not cheap either.

Dinner here was a very pleasant occasion. the Hotel is well located right in the heart of the town and has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Food was extremely good (carvery) and service came with a smile. I would definitely return.

Whilst walking in the nearby Abby Woods my wife and I stumbled across this gem of a country pub! The landlady greeted us immediately and made us very welcome. We ate in the lovely beer garden and the service from the team was excellent. Having already done a local woodland walk, we decided to do another at dusk! What a fabulous experience that was. We found our way back to the pub and again, ended up getting involved in a game of toad in the hole with the locals. Can I just say that Paul the landlord is a brilliant guy. We had a blast! We will be back!!

Ordered the Chicken Satay and it was basically seasoned water with 3 whole peppers in it and 5 pieces of fatty chicken, the egg fried rice was dry and had no flavor and the chips were burnt... 😬

Great service very good price and very tasty

What a place. We were greeted warmly at the bar and taken to our table. The dining room was simple with lots of rustic charm, and the menu had enough choice for both of us. The garlic cream mushrooms were extremely good and it was just the right amount for me. My wife had the gammon steak with egg and chips, and she said the chips were the best she had ever had. I had the Veggie parmesan which was more than enough and the salad was beautiful and the dressing was lovely. We were offered dessert but had to say no as we were so full from dinner! However the desserts are all homemade and looked lovely. What really struck us about this place was how nice the staff were, nothing was too much trouble. We would highly recommend the Water Wheel, and will definitely be back!
