Wonderful Hot Chocolate! We stopped here to warm up - what a lovely cafe with the best hot chocolates in seasonal flavours. Looks to be a super menu too. Highly recommended.

Quite a find. The menu took us by surprise. It was the first dog friendly place we’d found. All home made really good menu. Butternut and Leek soup with roll for £4. Options to suit all tastes.

My cousin treated me to lunch here to celebrate my birthday. I've visited several times previously and always enjoyed the food and drinks on offer. This experience, however, was so disappointing. The coffee I was served was weak and the bagel I ordered was served with just a spread of past its best houmous, with a few limp green leaves on the side. Standards have clearly slipped, sadly.

What a great little cafe at Saltburn station! Food was delicious with plenty of choice for vegan or veggie options. We had delicious bagels full of creamy hummus or vegan cheese and sunblush tomatoes. Choice of unusual fragrant teas - loved the Earl Grey and Rose black tea - and the coffee was the best one we had all week. Helpful and friendly staff and a lovely relaxed unhurried atmosphere. Although small inside, there were also plenty of tables outside too.

Unhygienic staff wiping mouth on tee shirt then picking up food to serve without tongs. Dirty dishes tables not cleaned etc etc should be closed down

The Sitting Room has so much potential with its menu choice and location. We ordered a beef siratcha bun and a pulled pork bun. The beef was really tasty but it took 20mins just to get our pints first and even longer for food. I'm not sure if the staff are family or artsy types but they seem disengaged and disinterested. Everyone was going back in to check their orders were coming. Lots of potential, maybe worth a visit it a year to see of progress..

Had brunch here on a cloudy cold morning when nobody looked happy in Salt in. The food was fantastic we loved it.

Called in for coffee and a bacon bun. Tries to be a bit upmarket but doesn’t quite succeed. Good coffee but the bacon brioche didn’t quite hit the mark and like most of the menu a bit overpriced. A bit surprised to be offered a suggested tip page when paying the bill by card.

Terrible place see photos - unsafe wiring- milk kept on floor next to rubbish bin which is under the coffee machine. Dirty teaspoon on my hot chocolate saucer

Called in to the sitting room today, they managed to squeeze me and hubby in what was a very busy time for this cute little ( little being the operative word) tea room. Cozy and clean, polite and helpful staff I had a gorgeous warm scone with cream and jam and hubby had a filled croissant which he said was lovely. Very reasonably priced too. Bit out of the way for us to go a lot but when we are in the area, this is where we will retreat to for a perfect cup of tea and a slice of cake.

What better way to warm on a cold winter day, a delicious mulled Gin. Created by Becky a very clever lady, and wow amazing, a good choice of coffees available but this was just something else. Can recommend for sure. Thank you so much.

Dog friendly small coffee shop / bar near the train station. Mainly sweet treats to go with coffee, not a lot of savoury items.

The hot chocolate was a bit bitter but I LOVED the cream and marshmallows! The decaf flat white was spot on but needed sugar. The cappuccino was disappointing but a good size. The decor, atmosphere and soundtrack is 8/10.

Fabulous place for a snack or relaxing tea or coffee. There's nowhere else in Saltburn that comes close to this tearoom. Do yourself a favour and try it out . Regards always go downstairs where is quiet and relaxing

Only went for a drink after having a walk around saltburn, 2 cokes and a coffee. There were only a few people in the place and only one other who arrived after us who had ordered. We waited 10 minutes and no drinks had arrived, we went inside to enquire and it appeared they had forgotten and they would bring them out, another few minutes passed and someone came out to ask us what our order was, we told them again. We eventually got our drinks but customer service is poor especially when they were not busy and the drinks are very expensive for what they are! Should have gone to sainsburys for a drink instead.

Went to Allessis’ for my birthday celebration and then onto The Sitting Room for cocktails. A beautiful evening so we sat outside. Very nice cocktails at not bad prices.

A friend reccomended this quirky, casual cafe for lunch and told me the cake was good. I went in and spotted the Arametto hot choclolate. It was declicoius and beatifully presented and went well with the ginger shortbread biscuit I chose. The next day after a walk along the beach we both went for a warming hot chocolate. This time I had the mint one which was again beatifully presented and very warming. The staff were very freindly and I liked the fact that dogs were allowed in too.

Had heard so much about this place was quite disappointed we had cake and coffee it was ok but nothing flash. Seats uncomfortable I know it's got a theme but it made it look shabby the good thing is that dogs are allowed in

came with friends who live in the area. Its very small and doesnt hold many people. Had a lovely cocktail in a lively atmosphere. It was a bit chilly where me and my friend were sat, i had to keep my coat on but it was a cold night.

I visited Saltburn for a couple of hours and popped into The Sitting Room before catching my train,as it is very close to the station. It was small but beautifuly decorated. The staff was very friendly. I enjoyed a glass of wine and would definitely pop back on my next visit to Saltburn.

We come for a cocktail or two on the weekend maybe once a month. The challenge is not to try the same one twice. They change them round all the time, I've not had the risk so far.

I attended with 2 friends and we took advantage of the cocktail menu. The place is small and the atmosphere lovely. The food menu is limited but I will definitely be returning for the snacks which consist of hummus and olives, amongst other things. The big advantage is that you can take your dog so when my daughter comes home, the 3 of us will definitely be paying it a visit.

Not sure where to start on this one. Its in station complex. Has about 6 tables which are formica with mismatched chairs. As is the crockery.The menu is made up of 2pages of teas of the drinking variety. They also do hot chocolate in several varieties. Dont really fancy hot choc with rose hip syrup! Coffee is really nice. Cakes are hit and miss. The only have very small kitchen area so cakes, although homemade ,must be brought in from somewhere. Last time we were there they had gorgeous Victoria Sandwich made with fresh cream and strawbs. Also almond cake with fresh raspberries. Total yum! Went yesterday and it was banana,pineapple and cinnimon and other cake was cardomon and cream cheese. Both looked uninviting. So you take your pick. Dont do main meals. Also sell cocktails so dont know where that fits in!! Having said that we do usually go when in Saltburn, but you take your chance as to what cake there is. Seems to specialise in drinks rather than eats. Really 3.5 rather than 3

A tad small but very cozy establishment with outside seating if weather permits. We really loved the good quality of the food, enjoyed the staff frriendlyness and helpfulness. Will be back!

In the evening, they serve nibbles such as pitta bread and hummus and homemade pate with toast. Lovely atmosphere with background soul music. Staff really friendly and helpful. Not much room inside ( adding to the intimate ambiance) but tables and chairs outside.

We love The Sitting Room, and we visit in whenever we're in Saltburn. This place is just lovely, and it has its own unique style. The staff are always really good, and the prices are reasonable. If you want to enjoy a pot of tea, or perhaps a slice of their wonderful cake, then this is the place to be.

I visited here yesterday(3rd July).Served pretty quick by a very pleasant girl.I had hot chocolate with cream and sprinkles.marshmallow was on offer as well but i dont like it.Was expecting choccie sprinkles but got hundreds and thousands instead.This was £3 for a fairly regular mug sized amount.I have been a few times,though not for probably 6 months.the cake is usually good,though i didnt have any this visit.it certainly looked nice and fresh.The cafe is small and there isnt lots of space in the basic seating area.Friendly dogs are welcome as well.In fact everyone is made to feel welcome.It opens at night for beer and cocktails,though ive never been so cant comment.Overall a good experience and i recommend anyone with a bit of time to spare in Saltburn to give it a try.

I recently attended a cocktail party at The Sitting Room with a group of friends for an 18th birthday. I couldn't be more impressed with the service; the bartenders were attentive, happy to explain what was in the cocktails and professional throughout the whole night. We were served a huge array of cocktails in beautiful vintage glasses (top marks for both the cosmopolitan and French martini). It was a lovely, safe environment for a few cocktails, and I'll definitely be back again.

Dropped in after a long tiring journey for refreshments, during the day. Coffee was fantastic and the cakes to die for. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable about their produce. . Dog friendly as well, although I didn't have my dogs with me but water provided for them at the door, which is always pleasant to see.

Very nice little place. Has a good selection of drinks and we both got a slice of cake, this selection was also very nice, the place is small and sometimes feels crowded but other then that we really enjoyed our visit and would certainly visit again.

We love this little place! It's so welcoming and unashamedly quirky. The cakes are fabulous and I would highly recommend the flavoured lattes and teas. We spent this visit having a few drinks, the violet prosecco being a personal favourite.

Visited twice in March after daughters horseriding lesson. Cakes are lovely and decent portion sizes. French press was lovely and well brewed. Venue was on the chilly side on both occasions. Staff were much friendlier on the 2nd visit.

A vast array of cocktails and coffee to satisfy everyone really, interior is quite cool and quirky. Not many places like this in the immediate area (probably have to venture out to middlesbrough to get anything like this).Close to the train station and cash machines and can get quite popular on a night.Defiantly worth a visit.

Met with a friend at The Sitting Room on Wednesday evening, was our first visit. Had coffee and a huge slice of cake to share which tasted amazing (White Chocolate, Rose and Pistachio cake - yummy). Nice warm and welcoming little place to visit, service good, staff friendly. They do not serve food, just tea/coffee and cakes during the day and cocktails on an evening. Will visit again.

I love this place! It's small and friendly and takes me back to my childhood with its Formica topped tables and odd chairs! There's a good selection of teas and coffees served in China cups! Lovely cakes and biscuits. Haven't been in the evening when it becomes a cocktail bar but I intend to!

Loved the rose hot chocolate! Such a cosy place to warm up after a bracing walk. Good service. I didn't try the cake as I'd had fish and chips earlier, but it looked very appetising!

a great little gem of a place. I often stop here in the afternoon for my coffee fix and mint cake slice(highly recommended). A nice mish mash of bohemian furniture with a laid back atmosphere. Should you have a dog its as welcome outside at the seating area as it is inside. Cocktails are also an addition to this flagship of Saltburn but be aware space is limited and with this hideaway being such a sought after venue it soon fills up in particular over the weekend.
