The best restaurants serving Default food in Elvet County Durham North East

My wife and I visited the Hare and Hounds today after pre booking, which seems essential. We were not disappointed. It was the Best Sunday Roast we have had for years. Freshly cooked vegetables and a choice of beef lamb or pork very good portions of meat served to you then put your own veg and trimmings. All with the best gravy. Friendly staff and bee from onsite brewery. Strongly Recommend.

Lovely food, comfy chairs, big portions and decent prices at £24 for a very filling lunch for two. Would like to come back and try more from the menu. Only criticism so far is lack of proper baby changing facilities. I know space is an issue but all there is is a small, hard tiled counter.

Absolutely delicious fresh food. Delivery was prompt! It is somewhat expensive however the portion sizes are great.

Ate early evening so not as busy as expected to be later, food was superb and service was helpful and lovely. A great little Indian restaurant with a warm welcome and a quick walk to the wonderful view of Durham Cathedral.

The food was delicious, we had the Tia Rose onion which was lovely! All our main courses were amazing too. Not the fastest service, but it didn't matter as it was well worth it when it arrived, and the staff were lovely. Definitely recommend Tia's! 😁

Nice and tidy place I tried their scones with apples and banoffee, and they were all delicious I liked the place and I recommend it

The food is fresh and the customer service is perfect. If you wanna experience real Italian taste this is the right place for it.

Amazing Waffles, one of best Ive ever eat! So yummy😋😋😋 this place should be on everyones map visiting Durham

£42 for a wrap, two chips and two toasties. Missed the chips off for the wrap. Asked how long we were going to be on the phone as we rang in and I said 10 minutes. Asked several times how long it was going to be and 40 minutes later it was ready. Food was not good either.

Loved the ambiance in this restaurant - low lighting, beautifully furnished - a really special feeling for a lovely night out. The special menus were a novelty, and the attentive service was superb (eg noticing a light was out on a menu so replacing it without being asked, noting that I had spattered my tip so providing a wipe, again without being asked). Delicious food, lovely atmosphere. The locals are lucky to have this place. Would definitely return if in the area again and will recommend to those we know who visit often.
