The best restaurants serving Default food in Stansted North Uttlesford East of England

We found a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the Rose and Crown today. Lovely locals. The barman was friendly and the lady sorting out lunch orders couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. She was careful to make sure the correct fryer was used to make my gluten free fish and chips, which was delicious .My sister-in-law had a superb steak pie. Great location on a pretty village green. We will be returning and would highly recommend this pub to anyone.

We was working in the area again and pop in and had a top quality a amazing breakfast and will be going back again for the same Full English breakfast. Please give it a try you will not be disappointed.

I don’t normally write any reviews but I really want to praise this restaurant for the excellent service, food experience! Our food was delicious not greasy at all which is how I normally feel after a curry!

Lunch was underwhelming. Despite only a few diners, service was slow. My £21 courgette tian looked good but lacked flavour, and other dishes were similarly disappointing. My mum’s scallops were gritty and not properly cleaned—she’s had stomach issues since. Plates weren’t warmed, which didn’t help. Overall, the food and service didn’t live up to the setting or the high prices. Also, no hand soap in the toilets—concerning for hygiene. We won't be returning.

The staff are lovely Venue should be good but no decent heating Absolutely freezing, one radiator downstairs is a joke Owners please take note and fix it everyone in the place on Saturday had their coat on

Went in today while visiting the area, friendly landlord, and atmosphere with decent beer. Very reasonablely priced would visit again when in the area.

They do a good cream tea & we go regularly. Staff are all lovely.

Nice coffee food OK. Served our coffee in takeaway cups despite having ordered hot food and sitting in. Proper cups given to people coming in after us.Also the Barista shows off a little.

Cosy little English village pub in Stansted Mountfitchet. We had the Sunday roast and it did not disappoint. Large portions reasonably priced. Staff were very attentive and we felt welcomed.

I visit Today the young lady call Isabel was very efficient and helpful make my day pleasant when I went there lunch time,is not every Wednesday like that when I get same food

Man refused to take my order. Kept saying he couldn’t understand me. Asked for the same thing I always get. Not sure what the point is of hiring staff that don’t speak English? I’ve a perfectly standard RP British accent. Not exactly difficult to understand. Never been treated so disrespectfully. What an awful man.

I ordered the stuffed crust pizza, the dough was super raw I couldn’t eat it. Took the pizza back to the store and asked for a different one, after 15 he I got the same type of dough when I asked him a thin pizza dough. I had to wait another 15 minutes to get the thing pizza. Once the pizza was ready I said to the manager I should get the difference back as the stuffed pizza was £3 more plus got charged £2.50 for delivery, when I had to get out of my house to get the new pizza as he never offered me another one over the phone. He said he was going to reembolse the diferente but he never did!! Really defensive and bad customer service. Will never get pizza in Stansted again!
