The best restaurants serving Default food in Canvey Island South Castle Point East of England

Just had a takeaway and was absolutely gorgeous - everything about it, the vegetable rice was very good one of the best ive had, chicken tikka dhansak was very tasty, we will definitely be coming back 😋

We attended on Xmas Eve. There were 9 of us and we had booked a table in advance. Upon entry it was clear they were not prepared for us as no table was set. After staff pushed three tables together and hurriedly fetched some napkins we were able to sit. This restaurant does not have an alcohol licence so you bring your own alcoholic drinks. Popadoms to begin and then straight to mains. We waited over an hour for our mains. When they arrived the food was good quality, tasty, hot and nice. When it came to the bill my party was paying with cash and card. A staff member came over and my wife asked for the card machine. He huffed, rolled his eyes and plodded off to get the machine. We had obviously inconvenienced him. Overall it was a nice meal which took a bit too long to serve and the staffs customer service left a lot to be desired. Sadly, although I enjoyed the food, I will not be returning again due to the staff rudeness and the delay in receiving our food. Those two issues spoiled an otherwise enjoyable night.

Where do I begin from? Great customer service from my favourite dish TURKSIH, food. Staff are warm and welcoming. Food is great but nothing like London's Turkish food. I can't wait to return. Teşekkür ederim 🙌❤️

This really is a hidden gem 💎 We were looking for something a little different to the normal, and this really did hit the spot. Very friendly atmosphere, spotlessly clean, and the food wow 👌 I had the Octopus for mains, and for a moment, I forgot that I was in the UK. The flavours 😃 Cheesecake for dessert gave that sweet tooth exactly what was needed. The portion size is very good. I will definitely be making this place a regular visit to work my way through the variety on the menu. Spoilt for choice is an understatement Sadly, there were no photos. I was far too interested in eating

I personally think canvey Labthworth Cafe is excellent. They very kindly put on an afternoon tea for my family at very short notice I couldn't fault the staff,service or food. Nothing was too much trouble,they looked after us all and made it extra special for my granddaughters who loved it. Thank you

RIBS ALL ABOUT IT! Bruno's, Canvey Island, to become the 51st addition to the US of A! Once more, fellow foodies, Bruno has done it AGAIN and ramped up the taste, portion size and quality of his food, and Bruno's, Canvey Island, is now at risk of being ceded to Texas, original home of the BBQ rib! Ok, seriously you guys, let's get down to the business of Bruno's BBQ ribs. Having had Bruno's new BBQ ribs twice now, I can safely say that they are hands down, the most tender, delicious and meaty ribs I've ever had from a takeaway. Way back in the 1990s, a well known American chain did some very good ribs (at one time considered Terribly Good In Fact) but sadly, not much cop these days. Like others, I've had my fair share of really disappointing ribs from takeaways in the past, what can I say.... small portions, dry meat, no meat, tough, stringy meat, over smoked, vinegary BBQ sauce that would make your eyes water (remember those?) and worst of all, ribs that tasted a couple of weeks old.... YIKES! Well, say no more. 🙊 Bruno's ribs are SUPER FRESH and are cooked low and slow, having been rubbed and then slathered and continually basted, in the most delicious BBQ sauce and nurtured by Bruno's magical hands. And you get a whole rack (check out the photos) so if you're looking for a good sized portion, you won't be disappointed. The man is an Artist.... no, a Wizard.... or maybe both. I anticipate his ribs will sell like hot cakes, 'cause you'll be hard pressed to get a large box containing a full rack of pork ribs, like these, which have been expertly transformed into pure meaty fall-off-the-bone deliciousness, anywhere else. I defy you to try eating Bruno's ribs without some eye rolling and soft groans. People, get ready to pucker your lips, and get down to the business of devouring a mammoth portion of ribs with lots of unapologetic finger and chops licking. Prepare to be blown away. If I was on Death Row and had one last meal, Bruno's BBQ ribs would feature on my list (with his NEW Onion Rings on STEROIDS and maybe a side of Mac 'n cheese). Incidentally, I had his onion rings again and they DO NOT DISAPPOINT! I wouldn't call them onion rings though, by virtue of their size, they are more like onion HULA HOOPS! Check out the photos, the box they were in was struggling to contain them!! What can I say about Bruno? The man is a legend in his own lifetime. Why? Because he only uses quality ingredients, takes enormous pride in producing a fantastic product, applies skill and expertise in his preparation and cooking methods and finally, devotes the time. I rang up and asked how his ribs are cooked and my Goodness, it's a heck of a procedure. Well realistically, did you expect ribs this good to be a five min stint in the kitchen??!! PEOPLE, THIS ISN'T FAST FOOD! Bruno's food is A-MAZING. No wonder his name, Bruno Passeira, is an anagram for A SOUPERBRAINS! Bruno, you knocked this one right out of the park. PS: If you think this review is a mouthful, you should try Bruno's ribs and onion rings!!

Cheap sausages and I'm pretty sure the whole place a front for laundering drug money maybe from Tony appleton there were rats outside and druggies in car park

I allways have the chefs special you can't knock the quality or the quantity of the food it's well presented well cooked and value for money

Excellent food, excellent service, great view of the sea. Had to wait a bit for a table, but it was well worth it! Highly recommend.

You can walk into The Spice Lounge & be seated quickly, or you can book in advance, or order a delivery. I felt completely safe eating in, as the restaurant currently has seating spaced to adhere to Covid restrictions. The food & service is amazing, even though they are curently running a mid-week deal, meaning you save a lot of money off the bill. When I ordered a delivery I was pleasantly surprised, as normally deliveries from any restaurant is never as good a quality as dining in, but the quality of the deliveries from The Spice Lounge found the food to be equal quality as dining in, which is very unusual for most deliveries The service for deliveries is also as good as it is when you eat in & I was surprised to find that the owner delivered our food, I know the customer should always be right, but these days that doesn't seem to exist, but this place will mix up the menu if required, they have a huge selection for meat eater & vegans, they cater for allergies & although they do not have soya milk they have no objection to you taking your own with you. On Sundays they do an amazing buffet, again very reasonably priced. The staff & owner do their best to make you feel comfortable & were really good with my autistic son. I cannot fault his restaurant, the food, or the service, as nothing is any trouble for them & it's done with a smile

Pathetic show food ok but came out to parking ticket. With my badge I could have parked for free across the rd I had no idea this tiny concrete space beside the pub was chargeable. Having been advised to ignore it by forums I now have court costs of £175 for a crap night in a crap place I came 30 miles to get to. Wont be doing that again. Liberty taking ribbers

Little gem of a find today. 9 of us had a lovely breakfast. Nothing was greasy, all cooked perfectly and good value for money. Staff really lovely, place spotlessly clean and if I was local I would definitely be back. Later in the day we went back for drinks and ice cream. Thanks ladies for a lovely day and for you being so caring knowing the reason we were in the area. 💚

Lamb shish tender chunky pieces are incredible, pizzas are delicious 😍
