Little gem of a find today. 9 of us had a lovely breakfast. Nothing was greasy, all cooked perfectly and good value for money. Staff really lovely, place spotlessly clean and if I was local I would definitely be back. Later in the day we went back for drinks and ice cream. Thanks ladies for a lovely day and for you being so caring knowing the reason we were in the area. 💚

The food was really good I recommend having the chilli and chips or the hallumi toasted tortilla wrap . We also had a very nice time

Breakfast was amazing! So was the homemade bread pudding! Lovely find on a weekend away. Looking forward to our next visit.

Stopped off 24th June 2021….I had prawn salad, hubby had sausages and chips…2 coffees, 2 teas….very nice, presented nicely, value for money, very clean including toilets….very happy to recommend

I go to this cheery cafe quite regularly on Canvey Seafront as it is only a short walk from my home. Basic food is sold at mostly reasonable prices - nothing special but a godsend along the seafront after a walk. (I can't believe there are people moaning about "having" to pay £1.00 for a can of drink. No one is forcing you! A couple of times now when the cafe is busy, the food does not come out as such a high standard. And, often the cafe "sells out" of products and lets you know quite a while from ordering. I was disappointed that during COVID-19 that a young lady handed my son an ice-cream with her bare hands, but I didn't want to kick up a fuss. I made him throw it away - re-sanitise his hands and go to the ice-cream van down the road where full P.P.E is in place. A lot of the staff are quite young so I wonder if owners just need to be sure the staff are being trained effectively! I worked in a cafe myself from a very young age up until I was 20, and you sure do learn a few things over the years! That being said, overall the cafe is friendly, toilets clean and lovely location.

Great location after a long walk round the sea wall , popped in for a coffee and a toasties we ate outside as the seating area was closed . The staff were very friendly. And the toasties were lovely .

Our first visit as the more well known Labworth cafe was shut that day for Breakfast, so decided to give The Bay Cafe a go.

Went here with family after walking along the seafront and needed a rest , plus some food & drink lol the cafe is lovely and clean , the staff are friendly and inviting. The food is brilliant , big portion sizes and always fresh & hot. Lovely Full English Breakfast. The owners are such lovely people, always on hand if you need anything. I would 100% recommend this cafe , plus it’s a great location for family days out at the beach.

This unique building has the look of a converted 1930s public toilet. Its an eye sore which blights the area.

Good choice of food, all freshly cooked. Healthy and not so healthy options. Good service and has parking if needed

Love to come here for breakfast and lunch, friendly place to come. Staff go out there way to seat people inside if weather is bad. Even other customers are willing to have a conversation we with you which is lovely. It’s like a little social club. Definitely recommend Food standard is excellent cooked to order and quality products not cheaper plastic food you get in other places.

Food is cooked to order so its always fresh. Prompt service from staff always with a smile great coffee and im a fussy cow where coffee is concerned and the place is spotless. Best place on canvey.

Horrendous personal family night and into the Bay Cafe for a lovely friendly welcome and brunch. This cafe is spotless and the food is top class. Will call again whenever we can. Impressed.

Ordered some toasties as a snack, after about 20 minutes they were brought out wrapped in serviettes, upon unwrapping the stuck on paper, we realised then were burnt on one side, with the serviette stuck to the melted cheese, this isn't good enough.

Nunca nos recibió cuando entramos, finalmente llegó a preguntar sobre sólo bebidas que queríamos pedir. . 2. y 2 latas de té - £4. 40. . Puede que no parezca mucho, pero tendrían más clientes si no estaban tratando de rob todos ciegos con sus precios. . Así que lo que si. tienen un pequeño aparcamiento gratuito sólo al cliente, hay aparcamiento a 2 minutos de la carretera la 50 p comienza a una hora. . Hubo 4 - 5 personal deambulando sin hacer nada, deben darse cuenta de que están vacíos por una razón. . . decepcionado. . .

Over priced, badly overstaffed, and for £1 a can of drink, you would think it comes with a glass and ice, I'm sure one of the 5 or 6 staff could have sorted that out, and the food don't get me started all I can say is what an absolute shame

No puedo decir que estaban cerrando, que estaba bien. Pero no me dijeron que tenía que mover mi coche fuera de su aparcamiento hasta después compré helados. . gente ignorante. Es un lugar muy práctico así que ninguna cantidad de malas críticas cambiará nada. Mujer estúpida, entonces me dijo para leer las señales de la próxima vez! Las señales estaban claras desde ella. Lo que les importa el dinero más que clientes habituales. .

Esponja deliciosa victoria y café. El personal es amable y servicial. Asientos al aire libre. Se siente como una familia de la comunidad de propiedad/café en vez de un negocio corporativo.

Nice sunny day. Went for lunch at the Bay Cafe. Ordered meal, sat outside in the sun. Meals arrived quickly and drinks. Good portion size. Nice and hot.

Great place for brunch, right next to the BAY MUSEUM which houses a fantastic collection of millitaria from the Great War and WW2. Cafe is small but has a lovely atmosphere and reasonably priced, with outside seating, Lovely on a bright sunny day, Lovely staff.

Had a lovely lunch with friends . The food arrived quickly & was hot & tasty . The waitress was lovely & made time to talk to my friends little boy ,she even admired his bucket of shells from the beach . Will definitely visit again .

Visited this cafe based on the good reviews... shame I need to disagree..It was a sunny day and so they may have been very busy however a good cafe would have managed...or at least managed custoner expectations better.Firstly the menu mentions fresh orange juice... I asked if it was freshly squeezed and they said yes... well it wasn't..it tasted like a packaged smooth orange juice. We ordered 2 cappuccinos and 2 bacon sandwiches... we got the cappuccinos (nothing soecial and slighlty cold) and 40 mins later we still didn't have our sanswiches!!! Ppl who arrived late had their food and we were still waiting...asked ehere the order was and the first nemb of staff said he would check but never cane out to say anythibg... then asked the owner who said it was coming, no big apology or explaination so I went and asked for my money back as we wanted to leave.. they offered to give it take away... and they were just defensive saying it was very busy... no , they just missed the order but tried to cover up... won't visit again

This small establishment serves quality for anybody who wants a meal before walking along the sea wall and beach. Breakfasts are plentiful and good value. The food is is always piping hot and cooked fresh on request. They even cater for Slimming World Members with a Breakfast that ticks all the right boxes. There is a good selection on their menu which caters for most pallates. Weather permitting you can sit outside and enjoy your meal and they welcome your dogs when you sit outside. In the Summer Months they also provide a Seafood Stall in the Car Park and again it is reasonably priced. The Car Park itself is somewhat small but that does not detract from the experience. The Sea Wall is about 40 ft away and it is in close proximity of Thorney Bay Camp Site. It does not open on a Monday and can be closed subject to inclement weather.

Always clean and tidy, the food is fresh and well cooked, they has young people serving, they train them really well

Easy to park good value and quick service, lots of choice of foods for breakfast and lunch suitable for all ages.

Enjoyed a Sunday full English breakfast with friends. Reasonable priced and excellent quality ingredients used. Cleanliness was notably to a high standard. Staff were friendly, attentive and displayed great customer service. A must to visit if you have not already discovered this little gem of a family run cafe by the sea.

My partner and I regularly visit this local family-run cafe for weekend breakfast. It is is situated close to Canvey Sea Wall and Thorney Bay Beach. There is also a shellfish stall adjacent at the weekends. It is spotlessly clean with seating both inside and outside, especially good in the summer for us, but also for dog walkers who may stop for a coffee on a more Autumnal or Winter day. The menu caters for breakfast and lunches. The food is always freshly cooked and served promptly. There is very much a "local" atmosphere which is friendly but not intrusive. I would highly recommend it.

Very friendly very clean lovely staff and great food.Will definitely be going there again. Seafood at weekends is a great addition also there is a kiosk on the beach so why go any where else .

Fab cafe- also now doing sea food and an ice cream stand on the beach. Spotlessly clean- disabled toilet facilities, all level so suits all. The beach is kept clean and looked after by local community so is a great little oasis. Visitors not allowed in cafe without shoes- keep up the good work!

Called in one morning with a few mates for breakfast as we were heading out for the day. Really enjoyable. Clean, friendly & great breakfast. It was busy as well.

Popped in for a light lunch - lovely food, good service, friendly staff. You can watch what is going on outside on the beach as they had a camera playing on screen inside. Also have a seafood stall outside nice place to get some prawns, cockles and homemade seafood mix

We tend to find ourselves eating in here a lot on the weekends for brunch. Every time we go the food and the service have been good. Prices are good value as the portions are large. We will and do return over and over again!

Lovely fresh prawn salad with a fantastic range of well prepared salad. Staff welcoming and friendly. Best of all was chilled mayo!!!

Needed a full English breakfast to start my day and was not disappointed.The breakfast was huge and very tasty.The service was good and the prices were reasonable considering it is a seafront cafe.Free private car park and loads of outside seating too.I will be back soon.

Stopped by here with my family today for breakfast as the location was idyllic being feet away from the seafront with ample parking and a park for the kids to play. We were all very hungry so we all ordered a full breakfast and when this cafe says full breakfast it means it. The food and plates were hot with no room for more food on the plates!The breakfasts were very tasty and I just about managed to eat all of mine but the kids were struggling, we all left very well fed and ready for a good day at the seaside.

Only small so we were lucky to get all 8 of us in (had to sit the kids on seperate tables for two which actually worked quite well!). Varied menu (including for kids) - breakfast, omelettes, jacket pots etc. Cards taken and free car park (albeit small). We will def go back.

My family received excellent service and great food on Easter Sunday most of us had a English breakfast with tea and coffee the staff was very friendly and to make our Easter we picked up seafood to takeaway for later that day great food and most welcomingWe will be back soon

The Bay Cafe is simply the best! You can not fault the staff, they are extremely welcoming and friendly and always willing to help. The food and drinks available are delectable. The seafood stall is great too! It offers the freshest products that have so much flavour and for a very reasonable price. So whether you're stopping by for something quick or dining with others, The Bay Cafe is the place to be!

Once again, perfect food, perfect service and polite staff! My kids love it as well as my dog. He even gets treats and water when we visit.

If your a family going out for the day after eating lunch the beach is being and a park for the kids to play. Highly recommend a visit

Made the mistake of trying this converted public convenience out last week, and had to endure those working there having a very loud discussion about the caravan park next door, the result was burnt toast and luke warm coffee..

We eat here often given the chance. Owners and staff very friendly food is cooked fresh so you might have to wait a bit but we'll worth it. I love a good strong coffee and deni makes the best. Mum wanted just eggs n bacon when it arrived mum said eggs where perfect. The place is spotless and toilets always smell n look clean. Overall my favourite place to go for brekkie set b all the way. Would highly recommend even if you just want a coffee. Xxx

Had a lovely Breakfast here. I like that you can sit outside if the weather is nice, its also near a park so handy for the kids to run off steam after a lazy Sunday Breakie

First class service with top quality food and a great choice of drinks too. Superb location right on the seafront offers indoor and outdoor seating and even dogs get a drink and a snack( outdoors only). Also has a separate fresh seafood stall at weekends which goes down a treat with the visitors. Has it's own customer carpark but remove your car before they close. I guarantee you will keep going back,

Recently took my elderly disabled mum for lunch at The Bay Cafe. Plus points parked easily with good access to building. Toilets very clean. Staff/service very polite and quick. Mum had jacket potato with prawns and side salad all she enjoyed but there was a lack of prawns. I had a breakfast which was nice but sadly spoilt by the taste bake beans. We both had tea which was very good. A few tweaks could you make this place excellent.

Really good quality food. Everything is made to order which might a take a little longer but is well worth the wait. Portion sizes are good and pricing is reasonable too. Would recommend.

2 recent visits .the staff are most welcoming. The cafe is very clean. The food is excellent . A very good selection of snacks and their breakfast is excellent. Dogs are made very welcome outside with a bowl of fresh water and the owner gives them chews. Great cafe and great staff. Highly recommended.

Recently refurbished with a nice interior and tables outside for when weather is better. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Called in for an unplanned lunch and discovered that the menu has been expanded since my last visit. It now has full cooked breakfasts, snacks like eggs on toast, sausage egg & chips etc, wide range of sandwiches, toasties, salads etc. Food is well presented and very tasty. Coffee served in large cups and all reasonably priced. I will definitely be visiting more regularly, particularly when the sun shines.

I visited the Bay café a few times last year . They are a café with warm welcoming staff, who serve up excellent breakfasts, sandwiches, salads etc. their coffee is served in large cups and is delicious.. It is bright and clean inside and the small terrace with sun umbrellas in welcoming. There is a small car park with a disabled car park place and toilet. They are also dog friendly with a bowel of water available and doggie chew treats. Would definitely recommend on either a sunny or rainy day !

Recently taken over by new owners and i can say that the family have invested time and money into providing a warm welcome. Excellent beverages and a hearty cooked breakfast.A good range of snacks and meals available, alfresco when the weather is nice,Reasonably priced and recommended for anyone who hasn't been there before.

We are on holiday in Canvey Island and in all honesty there isn't much here. Even less on a wet and miserable day. We knew this cafe had good reviews so decided on here for our lunch with the kids. They were really good, ever so friendly and accommodating with the kids. The food was good and very good value too. We were all quite full after lunch so we plan on returning before we leave to try their cakes.

Had a great lunch at the Bay Cafe (great food) staff were really friendly ( they are the new owners ) Their is a car park next to the cafe or if it's full there is another a few yards away. Well worth a visit.

I have been going to this cafe since it opened and was very surprised by the review "saddening "I'm afraid you have got it all wrong and must have the wrong place totally!!!i have eaten nothing but healthy foods here,the place is spotless and well maintained with a very high standard of decor,the staff are always friendly and cannot do enough for you,I cannot understand your negative comments.

My wife has been going there regularly and keeps going on about how good it is so finally got her to take me. Poached eggs on toast cooked perfectly and a nice cup of tea all at a reasobale price and served with a smile. Will go again.

Very welcoming staff and food is cooked from fresh so there might be a ten minute wait but well worth it, the coffee was amazing I will definitely be coming back, one of the comments on here about the staff being clicky is far from the truth, as I witnessed while in there, they recognised a customer that Said they had been on once four months ago, the food is bistro style, well worth a visit!!

I found the people who ran the place to be very clicky, very nice to people who are regulars, but quite stand offish if you are not a regular user, not a comfortable visit, it was like I shouldn't have been there

Have visited this little cafe a few times now during afternoon walks and have always had a very nice coffee and a piece of cake. Always clean and staff are pleasant. Cafe is often full of other customers eating meals. Glad to say this cafe was open today, Easter Monday, when others were closed.

Family run and very friendly cafe, serving healthy food at reasonable prices. Love this cafe, perfect for meeting friends or bringing the kids for a healthy lunch. Would highly recommend.

Not only is the food FRESH and delicious the customer service skills on the staff is overwhelmingly brilliant !! It is always sparklingly clean, I could even eat the food off the floor! The toilets are clean and always smell fresh.Amazing hotspot for the summer if you want to have a bite to it while sitting in the sun! They don't sell sausages which is a good things because I personally do not like them and feel that they completely smoke out cafes I've recently been too, the coffee is the best I've ever tasted and it goes down well with the homemade bread pudding.

This little cafe was converted from some public toilets. It is quite small inside so seating is limited. In the summer there are lots of tables and chairs outside. It is close to a reasonable beach, so has lots of potential for a beach cafe. Food and drinks are good and average prices. I feel that the owners could be a little more friendly at times. On one visit it was very cold outside and none too warm on the inside. The owner arrived left the door open and opened all the windows - did not make me feel very welcome. It's only a little thing, but this lack of customer consideration spoilt the experience. It should be a gold mine due to its proximity to the beach, but I feel it is not reaching its' full potential which is a shame, as it is in a brilliant spot. Otherwise for a casual coffee etc on a warm sunny day it is hard to beat.

We went on Sunday last - looked nice from the outside and as we had our puppy we sat outdoors the girls served us... cater to our ever whim and even recommended the best cake to eat.. its a toss between the Carrot Cake and Victoria Sponge to be honest... They do cheap breakfasts, lovely paninis and sandwiches and I would heartily recommend them... PLUS did I say they were blooming good value to?? :)
