Food was hot and well cooked, staff were very helpful and had a smile on their faces. Second time eating here and will definitely be coming back.

Me and my friends were visiting canvey and decided to pop in. amazing atmosphere, friendly service and great food. Shame we cant give it any more stars as it deserves them. Used it for breakfast each morning we stayed👍

Food was delicious but the issue I have is the guy preparing food in the front does not use gloves and handles the money with bare hands, no apron worn so he wipes his hands on his jeans then runs his hands thru hair.

Always busy! Generous portions. Well cooked and attentive service.

The food was fresh and made to order. I got the chicken Caesar salad but asked if I could also have bacon. It was a beautiful salad. Everyone was really nice and polite. I will definitely be going back next time I'm on Canvey Island.

Where do I begin? Great customer service, acknowledgment and good. I used to buy an English breakfast, but since I've had the chicken shish, I just can't stop ordering it. Absolutely delicious. Thank you very much for your customer service. It was much appreciated. 🙏

Standard breakfast, I don't normally like the cash n carry sausages but these were not to bad. A large breakfast with toast, Tea or coffee for £10.80, can't to far wrong. Car park just around the corner and open on a Sunday.. Yep was good for us.

Chicken and sweetcorn panini with chips was beautiful and everyone else's food on the table looked lovely too. The waitress was friendly and smiling too. Busy atmosphere and fairly priced, £6-10 a head! Definitely coming back again. 😁

Went in for lunch on Sat 27th Aug had chill and cheese on a jacket ( you can tell it's home made it was out of the world), mum had the same, and dad had liver & bacon all. Food 10/10 Service 10/10

It is what it is. It's a cafe. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food was abundant and cooked the way cafe goers expect. Comfortable atmosphere. Nothing to cause me to dock any stars. Will visit again soon.

Okay, great food and lovely workers. I do have 1 question. Why didn’t they leave the menu on the tables? Would love to give 5 stars but workers seem a bit unorganised. They didn’t know if they were coming or going. New girl is absolutely love, she couldn’t stop apologising for her mistake, I told Hermits absolutely fine but then she came across as a bag of nerves and seem so out of it but again, she’s a lovely girl needs to chill out a bit and recognise that we all make mistakes.

Went for breakfast and the fry up didn’t taste nice. Didn’t complain but mentioned it wasn’t great when they collected the plate. Had one of the staff come over and moan at us because we didn’t like it saying it was the best ingredients and he’s worked there for 10 years. No consideration over how poor the quality was or our experience as customers. The guy was then laughing with other customers about how we wouldn’t eat it. Really embarrassing and poor service overall. Would not recommend and will not be going. The irony is we didn’t even complain about it just said it wasn’t great and had a staff member come over and moan at us trying to excuse how poor the quality was.

Long wait today because it was very busy, but it was worth the wait. Food was great as always.

I would say the best place to go and eat in Canvey. Food is excellent the staff are really nice . Everything is clean. And the attention to their customers is first rate.

Walked in earlier today. Fairly busy. Found a table. Given menus, but unfortunately after non existent service from the waitresses, walked out. Sorry. Customer service disappointing.

Great value for money and the staff are always friendly and welcoming.

I'd given more stars but, the waitress service was very slow and certain foods were over-cooked. Other than that, it's a cafe, so you'd expect cafe results

Excellent breakfast. Just one criticism, the plates need to be warmed. Other than that food was well cooked and plentiful. The young waitresses also very polite and helpful. Highly Recommend.

Nice people and reasonable service but the poached eggs were hard and hollandaise slightly odd. I won't be rushing back. I suspect they perform better when making a traditional fry up !

Just been charged a whopping £11.20 for two teas and two sweet pies with custard. Apparently the custard is now charged as an extra item. Unheard of. Could have had two full dinners for that price in a Greene King Pub.

A lot of bigger restaurants are under more and more pressure to please us, especially as more and more of us eat out. This sometimes shows on the staff's attitude and the little things like cleanliness of cutlery etc... You sort of feel like you are part of a fast turnaround production line. The Island Cafe is exactly the opposite. Friendly staff who appear to genuinely care about your welfare from the warm welcome you get when you arrive to the friendly goodbye when you leave. The food I have eaten simply could not have been better and the atmosphere inside is of warmth and familiarity... Some visitors are obviously well known to the staff and that adds to the experience. Mine was a truly amazing experience and one which I will want to have much more. Can't praise the staff and management enough Long may it last. Note: they only take cash but the prices are very reasonable so you won't need that much of it.
