Myra Turkish Restaurant & Bar in Castle Point

My family and I had an absolutely delightful time at Myra's. The food was exquisite, surpassing our expectations in both taste and presentation. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome and valued. The restaurant offers excellent value for money, making it an ideal choice for both casual lunches and special evening outings. We highly recommend this establishment for a memorable dining experience.

Spent the evening there for my 60th birthday organised by my family as a surprise. Even though it was a busy Saturday evening, no request was too much trouble and always with a smiling face. We were a group of 11 and the food & drinks arrived with perfect timing. Will return hopefully soon. Lovely atmosphere too

Came here while visiting for a Jersey Boys Tribute act and found that the whole experience was brilliant. Restaurant was fairly quiet, but the quality of the food was excellent. the Meze breads and dips were of good quality and the chicken shish was moist and well seasoned. Kofta was not overcooked and seasoned very well also. As a small note I would suggest that the kitchen door should be kept closed while prepping food and this was sighted during my visit, but did not deter from the food and service received.

I am so disappointed, we were turned away at the door. We aren't locals here so we aren't aware of the pre-bookings system. The staff were so rude! Didn't even acknowledge us at first, we had to wave and repeat our greetings. And we had young children with us too, so this was a very upsetting occurrence. Even though it was our first time, we were turned away at the door with a disturbing attitude. We left Maysa with 4 adults and 5 children. Even though the owners were Turkish, we were happy to have our meal here. What a let down! They didn't want to gather 3 tables together for us and let down a truly genuine costumer!

Lovely restaurant with very friendly staff and she is the best Turkish food I have ever tasted. Generous servings and well presented. Great atmosphere. Can't say enough about the staff who were so kind to us and to our little girls, the girls even gave the staff hugs.

We had a platter after pointing out a dish on board outside didnt appear in menu inside. They tried to deny it saying I must have been looking at lunch menu so I went out with them to prove it and asked them to please remove it from their signage. The food itself was good in the main, decent salad & good quality meat, however the rice was way too oily, whether it came as a bed of rice or in it's own bowl. Inexplicable to me why chef would do this. Finally, after confirming I'd be paying by cash and leaving cash on table, one waiter rushed out to stop me questioning whether I had paid. I laughed out loud and said it was on the table. I found it very sad he chose to suspect me before bothering to check. Didn't even apologise for his grossly insulting behaviour. Main reason for two star overall.

Been here so many times and always treated well. The food is amazing and now my wife has found an amazing Turkish white wine to go with is an added bonus. I would highly recommend if you want to have that feeling of eating abroad in the sunshine then this is a must!!! We came down today to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary and just didn’t want to leave 🎉🎉🎉 price is unbelievable too…… little tip try the liver starter 🙌🙌

Our first visit to Myra's today. We enjoyed a lovely family meal out. We had a 2pm booking. Parking was available just across the road and make sure you pay for it. This can be paid for at the machine with coins or on the app with your phone. We had the restaurant to ourselves and it was very nice. The team was very happy and available to serve and answer any questions we may have had. The restaurant looked very nice, clean and very approachable. We enjoyed lamb shanks, lamb shish, chicken shish with yogurt and a hot sharing plate for starters. There wasn't any pressure to rush or to over spend. Just a lovely, pleasant, well deserved meal out. Would definitely recommend. Thank you.

Absolutely brilliant food and outstanding service!! Thank you so much to the two lovely gentlemen who served us today, we had a good time there, bless you both. First time trying Turkish food and we’re definitely in love! Ordered a lamb and chicken dish with some breads, we love the use of yogurt, it’s making the cuisine unique and nutritious. We can’t quite remember the name so feel free to refer to the photos I took. Drinks also quite nice and reasonable price. The desert is an absolute treat to us, perfect way to finish the meal. It’s a must-try if you’re visiting this area. Five stars!!

4 stars for atmosphere as it was so loud as it was so busy but all in all best place to eat ,cannot fault the food and service

We had lunch today, 2 adults and 2 children. Food was delicious, good menu for kids (chips added instead of rice for one child) and ketchup Lovely service, white wine delivered in a chilled glass. Simply the nicest coffee after meal. Many thanks and we will be back.

I often go in to a ‘not tried and tested’ restaurant with a bit of anxiety in my head and it was the same even with this place. The board was inviting and the quiet surrounding too, hence went in. We were welcomed very politely by the staff who helped us with seating as well. We ordered grilled Halloumi, pitta bread, hummus, prawn shish and halloumi kebab. Every single dish was fresh and delightful in taste. The latte was perfect too, given the fact that I rarely finish a cup of coffee and I surprised myself at Myra by relishing the whole cup. The food portions were very filling too. On the whole.. a lovely afternoon to remember, will go back again sometime.

Very tasty food! We ordered the calamari, the adana kofte and the chicken wings meal. All were cooked to perfection 👌 we know our Turkish food and hats off to the chefs here, they very much do too 😊 ample parking nearby - free as of December 2023 - and a meal with starters and drinks will set you back around £50. But the food and lovely atmosphere make it worth it! Food is also halal 🥰

Amazing place, always polite and amazing fast staff, food is on point and cocktails are amazing. Been about six times and has only improved since they first opened. The garlic mushroom and halloumi starter is amazing!

Dropped in for lunch after forgetting packed lunch for our afternoon out I'm so glad we "forgot" it 😄 best Turkish we have had in a long time and we live in Chelmsford that has a fair few. Called in for lunch. Staff really welcoming and food was very high quality. Loved the cold meze as starter shared between three and couldn’t finish it. Delicious main courses as well and reasonably priced. Highly recommended

Visited yesterday evening and I must say very impressive decor, flavourful delicious food and excellent customer service. Parking: Parked in Sea Front Car Park (pay & display - cheap price) Eastern Esplanade, Canvey Island SS8 7DL. Only 1 minute walk to restaurant. Impressed with the decor and service so much. The restaurant manager was so friendly and checked on us, he even gave me two large pots of the sauces as I complimented how good they were. The food was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. The meats were juicy and tender and they had a nice selection of drinks. Price wise it was fair and similar to anywhere else. Great place for lunch date, date night, out with family and children friendly. We used a high chair for toddler. A lovely evening of ambience and food in Canvey Island. Thank you keep up the great work!!!

Absolutely sensational! From the moment you walk in the door you’re made to feel welcome and there’s nothing the staff won’t do for you. They just offer such a good service and the food? Priceless. No wonder the reviews are so excellent! This place is quite special. We will be back.

Having already eaten in this restaurant previously and was extremely impressed by the food service and attention to detail making sure my young children are looked after. I had an emergency this evening and walked into the restaurant asking if something had been handed in. To my disappointment nothing had been handed in so I said thank you and went to walk away. Then a member of staff said don’t worry I will cook something for your children I declined as was embarrassed enough that I’d lost money but the staff insisted that I sit and wait for my kids food without any judgment or cost even though I’d offer to pay when I get home. Not only is the food amazing at this place they actually really care about their customers. Top place top food and more importantly top staff well done maya for helping me out even when I didn’t ask. We went yesterday for the first time. Food was amazing - huge portions and very reasonably priced but what stood out for us was the service. My daughter is a fussy eater - we ordered her a meal and the staff could not accommodate her more. They gave us complimentary dessert for her and then a lollipop at the end. Will definitely be going back very soon xx

Was our first time visiting here last night. The food and cocktails were amazing! Live music was playing, the singer was brilliant was such a lovely atmosphere. The staff were so lovely and friendly and when they found out I was celebrating my birthday they brought over cake with candles really made me feel special, was such a lovely thought. Would def recommend this lovely restaurant. Had the best time and can’t wait to visit again soon. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

The restaurant is full of rodents it is disgusting they had rats in the kitchen so unhygienic & denied it when pointed out, Avoid at all costs!

Been here a couple of times with my family, and what can I say the food is amazing and generous In portions . The staff are realy freindly and it's worth the trip down from canary wharf. Highly recommend

2nd time I've been there an its amazing, took my partner there for her birthday last Sunday, was ment to be a table for 4 but our guests arrived late, to be honest we didn't think our guest would turn up, but they did, me an my partner had already ordered our meals, when our guests turned up an the waitress asked us if we would like to put or mains on hold which we did so our guest could ordered, an to top it off because its was my partners birthday, all the staff came out with a piece of cake with happy birthday written on the plate playing music an clapping, which made my partners day,

What a beautiful restaurant, fantastic welcoming hosts....and amazing drinks and food 😋 Only thing I'd say is "be wise about what you eat before your main dish, as myself and my partner had eaten all the complimentary bread and starters beforehand, which filled us up before our main, which although we struggled with, tasted amazing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We went for lunch today with my dad and family to commemorate the first anniversary of my mum's passing. The staff were very welcoming as soon as we entered and we all had a fantastic meal. The restaurant is clean and beautiful decor. All the staff were excellent and very attentive. Really good as well to receive a 20% discount during lunchtime. Will definitely go back.

I liked it here, the staff were really friendly and didn't rush us and the food was lovely. We were given the choice of where we wanted to sit, we opted for near the window, but I didn't notice is was close to a door section of the front, the draft was terrible so I wouldn't opt for the tables at the front by the left looking out.

Went there with my family for my birthday. Staff so pleasant and attentive. They even gave me a cake and sang Happy Birthday to me.I had Prawn and Advacado cocktail for starter and Smoked Salmon for main it was beautiful. The cocktail drinks are lovely as well

We had a table of 8 and the food was fantastic. The lamb and chicken shish were so succulent, the adana was spiced and cooked really well. Now with a any Turkish meal, you need a good chilli sauce and this one is off the charts. Its spicy, tasty and tangy, one of the best chilli sauces I've ever had and I like chilli sauce. Would recommend and will be going back next time I'm in the area.

Visited prior to xmas and food and service I would say on the night was "Fair" though at one point we was the only people in there. Anyway fast forward to a couple of weeks ago wife wanted to try a takeaway from here as she had a friend round. Used the "order online" tab on there website home page job done. Well so I thought, I recieved a conformation email and told to collect in 20 mins, Arrived and greated, told my food would be no more than 5 mins and to take a seat, next thing I know I'm told by a rude employee that they have no order in my name, I explained I ordered online only to be told "you have clearly made a mistake as we do not except orders online". Even after showing them the tab on there website and my email with there address on I was still accused of being stupid and to give them the order whilst I waited. Needless to say I left and went elsewhere. So Rude

We have dined here a few times already and have never been disappointed . Come with family over the bank holiday weekend and the atmosphere was amazing. Food was spot on as always, the waiters are incredible as always full of energy and really make the experience the best. Cocktails were amazing. Family loved seeing them be made by the very friendly bar man. Thank you to everyone for a great experience. 10/10

My wife went with some friends a couple of weeks prior to Christmas. Just loved it. 6 of us went on New year's eve. Could not recommend highly enough..please give this place a go. We will be returning.
