The best restaurants serving Default food in Ashbourne North Derbyshire Dales East Midlands

It is a nice , clean and cosy restaurant.Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We mainly ordered pizza's and it was delicious. I ordered wild mushroom risotto but unfortunately what I got was just rice and mushrooms. I was disappointed with my food and regret ordering it.

Great location, we were lucky with the weather so ate outside. Sara was lovely. Small menu but we all found something we liked. Great value food. Will be back

Nice atmosphere, polite staff. Amazing jacket potato! Huge generous portion, large nicely cooked potato with generous portion of toppings, including coleslaw, crisps and salad! Great value for money.

Liked it a lot. Ginger flapjack? A splendid idea! Tasted delicious. Great pot of tea, nice feel to the place, friendly service. Let us charitably assume the name of the cafe is an abbreviation of "For coffee" and not a subliminal insult to tourists..... ! Great place.

4 of us staying in a nearby cottage called in for an evening meal.We hadn't booked, but we're given a nice table in the small bar,near the woodburner. We ordered from the simple menu, and all enjoyed their chosen meal. The draught beer went down well too. The prices were very resonable, main course probably average £10, that's good There days. There was a nice buzz in the bar, we'd go there again no problem.

Good selection of warm and cold food. Sausage rolls and warm cobs/baps were lovely. Next to cycle shop for repairs and rent. Both right by Tissington trail and not far from high peak trail.

Welcoming and friendly service, just the place to enjoy a drink/bite to eat either before or after your walk.

Very cosy and welcoming lounge, comfortable inside seating with some outside seating to the front next to the road and in the alley. I went for a coffee and piece of cake, the lounge is an ongoing project at the moment (toilet refurbishment).

Don’t know where these low reviews are coming from, can only assume its rival businesses or people who are used to nonsense. Having lived and traveled extensively in Asia I feel this hits the spot between being authentic and catering to a western taste. Everything we had was cracking, well cooked, balanced flavors, and the right level of seasoning (not too salty or over synthetically flavored). Price was good and service was great. Any ask for any more. Judge for yourself, but don’t be put off by nonsense reviews, this place deserves well over four stars. I’ll definitely go again, and would recommend it to anyone.

Having visited this cafe a few times over the past year or so, and been happy with the food and service, I found today's visit very disappointing. Even allowing for the fact that the place was busy, there was no welcome, tables were not being cleared quickly and after around ten minutes waiting for service and seeing a couple who had just arrived being attended to, I was left with the distinct impression that my custom was not welcome. In the end, I walked out and found an alternative artesan bread shop on the market place which did a delicious, freshly-made sandwich and cafe latte at a reasonable price. I think today's wasted effort at Birds in Ashbourne will be my last.

Great spacious coffee shop with ample seating and staff are all friendly and welcoming too. Good selection of drinks and cakes

We were out in Ashbourne for dinner and we were really pleased to find room at Bear. Other pub restaurants had tables but would not serve our family. We have teenager children not little ones but others areas all refused us. Bear was warm welcoming, helpful, seated straight away, lovely service and great food. Warm, friendly with great music. One of our party didn’t read the menu and missed that her burger had cheese. She is lactose intolerant and it would have made her very ill. Our person serving us could not be more accommodating despite our error. This is a sign of great service. Thank you for making our Saturday night lovely and for your kindness. 👏👏👏

Stopped for a quick pint while looking round Ashbourne beer was ok for a standard pub not a great choice of ale . I did notice people having a beer outside with food they'd bought elsewhere which was good
