Beaumonts Cafe & Bar in Derbyshire Dales

When we’re in Ashbourne it’s now a permanent thing to go and have lunch here. The Pork Yorkshire Pudding Wrap was once again superb. I think it may have changed ownership since we came last but the quality of food and service certainly hasn’t dropped.

Amazing customer service and food I had the cauliflower and cheese soup and my sister had full English very filling and beautiful little set up would highly recommend the front of house lady dark with glasses is lovely!

We had a really good lunch here - a pork Yorkshire pudding wrap, a beef Yorkshire pudding wrap, a fishfinger bap and a kids meal. The meat was fantastic, and accompanied by gravy. Very filling. Good hot chocolates too. The staff were lovely and happy to help. We'll definitely back!

On the way to a celebration weekend we stopped off in Ashbourne for a wander round and a snack. We came across this place and my Husband went in to ask if they allowed dogs, which they did. They seated us & the dog out the back, which was fine. Lunch: Jacket potato with cheese x2; Porky Yorkie x1 Drinks: Lattes x3 Jacket potatoes came on a plate filled with lots of cheese, crisps and salad. We were not expecting such a plateful, which was delicious and hot potatoes. My Father-in-law said his porky yorkie was very tasty. Delicious food and great value for money. Good service.

A delightful little tearoom with the potential for greatness….thats where it ends! Firstly, we were told the specials which sounded yummy. We were then delivered our drinks, to which the waitress put her thumb in the cream. We laughed (thank goodness it wasn’t Covid). Onwards and upwards! We ordered around 12:10 - 2 x soups + scones and 1 x porky wrap! 10 mins later we were told no soup left (remember this is 12:10)…..no issue, the fact they run out fast may show how good the food is! The waitress then came to our table and said we had to queue to reorder the replacements (eye roll from me….), I head to the queue. Top marks as our original host tells me to come to the front hoorah!! New order - 1x jacket Coranation chicken and 1 x bacon roll. 5 mins later, embarrassed host comes to the table….we have no pork for the wrap, will you have beef? 🙄🙄🙄 And so we wait….not for long because speed of serve was amazing! Out comes the wrap yum, the jacket and Coranation yay….just wait for the bacon bap…..hoorah it’s here….no….its a jacket with two strips of bacon on the top! Oh man - more eye rolls! That goes back with the waitress to be replaced with the butty we asked for….oh and a fork as the cutlery was a pile of spoons for the soup they ran out of. And wait for the fork….and wait….and the butty arrives but no fork…..and wait….hoorah it arrives!! Let’s eat!! Food was plentiful, but the jacket and chicken was so so salty….it was nice but too salty for my taste. So, after that we go to pay and are asked how it was…. “Disastrous” I reply…. “What could go wrong went wrong”. Now - this is the chance to redeem themselves with a 10% off next visit or complimentary cake…..what we actually received was “Well I’ve only just started my shift”. We laughed, we left….we won’t return! To our original host….we know you tried bless you! There needs to be more communication and customer service needs to be increased! This story would have a happier ending if we had been given that extra bit of care, but sadly we won’t recommend this place and won’t be back… Oh - and TURN YOUR HEATING ON…..every customer was sat in their coats because it was soooo cold!

I really meant to write a review last time we called in here earlier this year and then typically forgot… but I’m going to rectify that right now. I can’t praise this eatery enough; quick service, staff can’t do enough, the food is terrific and the soundtrack to the place ain’t bad either! This time we had two of the meat cobs and just those filled us up… and the gravy was brilliant - just how we like it. Would have dearly loved to have finished it off with a cake but just to full… maybe next time (and there will be a next time).

We called for a snack type Lunch,we had a breakfast bap and Egg Benedict both were very tasty and well cooked. Other food which came out of the kitchen all looked very good.

Greeted at the door by some very friendly and welcoming staff, quickly shown to a table and drinks followed. Very good menu choice but we went with something off the specials board and followed it with a good chunk of cake, no complaints here it was lovely.

As a resident of Ashbourne I decided to visit Beaumonts and was very surprised and disappointed to read in small print at the bottom of their menu, that there was an extra charge for both decaffeinated coffee and non dairy milk. I have been to most of the cafes in Ashbourne and this extra charge for a decaf drink does not apply. Come on Beaumonts stop fleecing the public! I won’t be visiting you again in the near future.

The photo should tell the reader all they need to know. We ordered food and drinks. When the drinks arrived the server presented the card reader for us to pay for everything upfront. The photo of my brie and cranberry sandwich is after I had tried to bites. It tasted like an untasty jam sandwich . The cranberry sauce had already soaked into the bread when it arrived. I opened the intouched half to take the photo to show the small amount of brie included. I was so disgusted I couldn't be bothered to converse with whoever thought this was acceptable in terms of presentation or taste.

We’ve been here many times (as a couple and with our young daughter too) and the food is always incredible. Sometimes there is a slight wait for food but this is to be expected when everything is fresh. Between us we’ve had sandwiches, full breakfasts, eggs Benedict, paninis, flatbread specials and more and would recommend it all! Service is always good, the outside area is lovely on a nice day and there always seems to be a huge selection of cakes. See you again soon!

Not the best experience we have had, the place seemed rather dirty, just needed a good fresh clean in my opinion. Food and service was average. Asked for a cheese & tomatoe roll , it was mainly butter and thick cheese slice type cheese . I had to scrape the butter off the roll before I could start eating, I only ate a few mouth fulls and left it as it was just dry and the cheese was awful, we were placed in a room at the back of the venue as we had 2 dogs but it was next to the toilets which was so off putting. No staff around to speak to either overall a bad experience. Left rather promptly and rather hungry

Well I think they have a captive audience on a Sunday morning. Went in as not many eateries open for breakfast. £3.99 for one toasted tea cake!

Called in at Beaumont's for tea and cakes. The staff were very friendly. the service was good and efficient, a lovely display of cakes and pastries. We enjoyed our choices. Nice traditional tea room. Would definitely revisit.

Went here for lunch, looked at the menu, Asked for jacket potatoes was told they had none, so decided on the soup, again they didn’t have any, so because I cannot eat bread we just had a coffee as there was only pizza, sandwiches or rolls. Whilst we sat there we saw a salad go to a table, so asked what the salad was, and there was a choice of cheese and tomato or cheese and onion, £10 each all but 5p, so we asked for one of each, then was told there was no more cheese and tomato. So we went with cheese and onion, it was awful!! The pastry was thin, hard and burnt and the onion was anaemic it was obviously put into the quiche without frying first, and I was sure they said cheese but I couldn’t taste cheese. We are camping in the area so was looking forward to a good meal. Not once did anyone come and ask if everything was ok, my hubby was going to say something but I said I didn’t want the hassle and he had given the pastry to our dog.
