This was our second time visiting LuBan for bottomless brunch. This time was to celebrate mine and my partnerâs engagement! We absolutely love it here, service is always impeccable. Special mention to Kayleigh (I think thatâs her name) the host. A beautiful warm welcome and checked we were okay throughout. All servers were quick to get us another drink and even the manager (I think) was waiting on tables and delivering drinks! Was really nice to see! The food was to die for and the drinks, AMAZING! The âsweet not sourâ cocktail is to die for! We finished up our food early and a big table came and sat by us, the waitress seen it was getting loud and offered us to use our remaining time by the bar, which we did. The 3 bar men were lovely, making drinks and having a laugh was just lovely to see. Kayleigh again couldnât do enough for us and when we told her we were celebrating our engagement she treated us to a free shot. We already canât wait to come back! Thank you LuBan and your staff on 4/11 for making our special dinner even more memorable!

Lately Iâve been here for some dim sum, arrived at 1pm on a Monday. It was quite busy and full of locals. Overall the food was great and definitely would love to come back! My favourite is the fried squid tentacles, the cheung fun could have been better. However Iâm a little disappointed that they forgot about the durian crisp order :(

Up to its usual amazing standards! We came here for a few years every time we travelled from Manchester airport and were worried it had permanently closed. We were delighted to see that it was open again so we visited whilst staying at the crown plaza. The food and service were fantastic. Bel and Edward were particularly friendly and really looked after us. We canât wait to come back! We had the dim sum dishes, sweet and sour chicken which was the best Iâve ever tasted and my hubby had the duck which he said was unreal.

We went to Rainbow 88 for the Sunday buffet as a party of 7 and a baby. Food was okay, service was fine. My issue was the charge when the bill arrived for my one year old of ÂŁ8. When we asked about this we were told rather abruptly that it's 'on the menu' well yes it is on the menu but we presumed this was a charge for children who are actually eating the buffet. No this is a 'donation' enforced on all your children even the ones who aren't actually eating. I have never been to a restaurant that sticks a donation on the end of your bill for a baby. Yes it's for the Christie, yes it's for a good cause but ÂŁ8 for a baby to sit there?! Bizarre. Oh and I had to change my babies nappy on 2 pushed together chairs in the women's toilet under the hand dryer as they have no baby change facilities. Very unhygienic and unsafe. All in all we have been a few times as a family for birthdays etc but I don't think we will go again. Or maybe we will go back when my child can actually eat so he can get good value out of his ÂŁ8 donation. The Magician was great

I visited this restaurant in early December with my friend, were were after a relaxing few hours and a great restaurant experience not had chinese for a while. When we entered the restaurant we noticed how cold the temperature was, it was only 6pm so we thought maybe but hadn't been open long. We ordered a beer each from the waitress and then very soon after was asked 3 times if we were Ready to order , a bit pressured we thought. Also the wine list had disappeared from the table and had to ask twice for it. We ordered our banquet and awaited our soup, this was tasteless, iv never had to add salt to chicken & Sweetcorn soup! Our red wine arrived and it was freezing cold! I mentioned this to the waitress and she said "well it's not been in the fridge". Our combination course of ribs, spring rolls and seaweed was really nice but the mains were not, tough pork balls and chewy chicken. Untill we asked for a break the meal was very rushed. We didn't enjoy the experience and won't be returning.

5 of us dined and we all enjoyed the food, however the service was not quite up to scratch. When we arrived at 6.40, 5 mins early, the restaurant was very busy, however the waiting-on staff should have approached us earlier than the 30 minutes it took them. When they finally arrived, they took the drinks and food order together. 4 of us ordered a banquet and 1 a starter and mains. The drinks arrived quickly apart from the jug of water, which I had to request twice. The banquet starters arrived but the single starter didn't. It was finally served with the mains. The portions were just enough, no more, no less, so no waste. When you book a table you'll be asked to pay a deposit. I said on the night "I bet they don't deduct the deposit from the bill and sure enough I was correct. Nice atmosphere but the aforementioned service issues affected the size of the tip we left.

We decided to go for a Chinese as we headed home from Manchester. Water Lilly came up on google and we werenât disappointed. We were greeted by friendly staff and were taken to our table without delay. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. The three of us that went, including our 5 year old son, loved the food. Especially the char siu bao buns and variety of dim sum. Water Lilly ticked all of the boxes and we will be sure to return in the near future. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good Chinese restaurant in the Chorlton area.
