The best restaurants serving Chinese food in Stockport North West

We visited yesterday evening for my birthday, for the first time, and we will certainly be back. The food was superb, freshly cooked, and delicious. Sonny the owner did everything that he could to make us feel welcome and we had a lovely evening.

The food was delicious. Not a problem with anything. The atmosphere is great. No problem with that. However, the service……. I have a problem with. Pushy, insistent, rushed, ill mannered….. I could go on. I felt like shouting…’Leave us alone for just 5 minutes!!!!’ It was rude and disrespectful, and was a real disappointment. Such a shame, but easily rectified if the staff learn to back off and let people relax and eat.

We went to Rainbow 88 for the Sunday buffet as a party of 7 and a baby. Food was okay, service was fine. My issue was the charge when the bill arrived for my one year old of £8. When we asked about this we were told rather abruptly that it's 'on the menu' well yes it is on the menu but we presumed this was a charge for children who are actually eating the buffet. No this is a 'donation' enforced on all your children even the ones who aren't actually eating. I have never been to a restaurant that sticks a donation on the end of your bill for a baby. Yes it's for the Christie, yes it's for a good cause but £8 for a baby to sit there?! Bizarre. Oh and I had to change my babies nappy on 2 pushed together chairs in the women's toilet under the hand dryer as they have no baby change facilities. Very unhygienic and unsafe. All in all we have been a few times as a family for birthdays etc but I don't think we will go again. Or maybe we will go back when my child can actually eat so he can get good value out of his £8 donation. The Magician was great

Ni hau Wendy Li, you always serve great authentic Cantonese food, best Sweet and Sour King Prawn, and Singapore Vermacelli, and are such a friendly family..with Li sat Fon, and Li sat Lin occassionally helping out

Lees does a magnificent sweet and sour chicken, rice and chips are splendid as well .I like their special fried rice. i have been a customer for many years. My other half has been a customer since they opened. Just last week it was packed out with people ordering Chinese meals. From what customers told me some people travel a good distance to get their meals. We live nearby. Viv G.

Really enjoyed it here. We ordered a starter and a main. Very friendly staff we never felt rushed to eat. Clean place. Very enjoyable experience.

Waited 1hou 30 minutes then got the wrong order had to phone them eventually after another wait got right order which was very cold the chips were disgusting won't be having food from there again the driver was rude

Went in for dinner and ordered chicken satay. Chicken arrived and was raw ! Starter was replaced with an apology but when the bill arrived it wasn't adjusted for their mistake and still a 10% service charge was added. I will never eat here again because of this, really poor customer service.

Possibly the worse Chinese takeaway I have ever ordered £42 portion size was so bad the food was so salty hands down so bad on Mother’s Day as a little treat Dreadfull rip off.

AVOID!! This used to be the best Chinese food around. Not had it for a while so ordered but I wish I hadn't bothered. Delivery was very late and food was cold, no answer when I tried to call to complain! Food had zero flavour, chips were clearly reheated and crispy chicken was either fried to death or just purely crispy batter with no chicken in sight! After reading some reviews, sounds like new management have taken over and my god, what a disappointment! Will never order from here again, £46 down the drain......

It was nice to have our first meal out since lockdown. Good food and good service, nice to meet up with our friends again . Thank you all

Sunday buffet Food didn’t looked appetizing at all It was very disappointing had to keep requesting Fresh dishes as only had scraps left in the trays Limited selection of poorly made food It wasn’t worth the money Won’t be visiting Peking Garden again

These guys are the real deal. Beautiful food and exceptional service. I was involved in a family event and had beer down the road but they brought my food to me and it was awesome. I wish all Chinese was like this.
