Horrible service, i wouldn’t give any star to this restaurant. How could you accepted order for delivery and let customer wait when the restaurant was uncontactable. Then the restaurant just ignored you !! Do not waste your time for this restaurant!

I have just been helped when my car battery died by Manu the delivery driver for this restaurant. He was so helpful and lovely and genuinely would have been stuck for hours miles from home on a bank holiday. I hope he is recognised for his kind acts. I did offer him some money which he reluctantly only took some of. I hope his kind act didn’t cause any delays to orders. I tried to call but no answer. Thank you again Manu if this reaches you! Great to see such lovely people employed by a local company.

Best chicken fried rice I have had, but the ribs not so good

THIS USED to be a great takeaway, But it has changed hands and is now just dreadful. My wife ended up with chronic indigestion and vomiting and my meal was average at best. My mother has bought from there twice since the changeover and both times the food was awful. This is such a shame as it used to be the best chinese takeaway, I had ever bought from, but not anymore.

Sadly I have to agree with the other reviewers on here about the change of hands and the quality of the food. This was the best Chinese food around, but sadly the food was not good. I contacted the take away about the poor quality of the beef in the beef curry who was very apologised offering another dish. I chose salt and pepper shredded chicken, but sadly this was dry chicken and the outside batter was greasy. Sadly this is an end of an era for the original taste, I defo won’t be back again and it’s time to find a new take away. Very sad indeed….

Been used this take away for years never disappoint me although it’s been waiting for longer than I expected but food was band on.

Clearly a change of ownership during 2023 - what was previously an excellent delivery choice is now uniformly late (last order took nearly 2 hours) and of much poorer quality.

Have been using this Chinese for a few years and it was the best around, last few times I’ve ordered it’s been so bad. Food over cooked and dry. I placed an order tonight to wait 1 hour 40 minutes and it turned up cold so I sent it back. I think I’ll find a different Chinese from now on. The customer service is shocking

Disappointing, cold and bland. We chose original taste because of the good reviews on Google but after we got cold food which arrived 20 minutes late and wasn't tasty, we realised a lot of the reviews were from a while ago and the recent ones are not so good. Red curry was quite watery and had way too many water chestnuts and onions. Ribs were fatty. Soup was average. Fried rice was OK.

Went here other day food was overall disappointing, chips were soggy and flavourless ! Ordered shredded special and was just chunks of meat with no duck? Nothing shredded about this dish, and this was off the specials so extra money aswell!! Before the new management always went this chinese and was my fave. But now even customer service is just as bad as the food :) Disappointed to say the least.

Had 4 dishes from this takeaway last night. I usually go to Dragon City but its closed until September. Have had meals from here before and been ok in the past. Ordered chicken sechzuan and when arrived home it was a pork dish which we did attempt to eat but wss that hard and chewy wasnt possible. Also ordered thai curry and was mainly sauce. Didnt eat it as the chicken had a jelly around it (must be too Much cornflower added). The other 2 dishes weren’t upto par so in all it was £30 down the drain. Will never go back

⚠️ WARNING ⚠️ 13.08.23 This Takeaway has changed hands. It has a (confirmed) new owner and more importantly a New Chef. He or she cannot cook. The food is absolutely abysmal it has zero taste and our chicken dish was very watery and went in the bin! The beef in black bean sauce has given me a very bad stomach today! We have been using Original Taste for 7 years. Barring a couple of occasions the food has always been excellent. However not anymore. We've had 2 takeaways since under new ownership and both times the food has been very bland and tasteless. I would use caution when ordering from this place now! It's that bad, if I could give it Zero stars I would!!! Sorry for this poor review. I'm only being honest.

Shame the food arrived late, starter was cold, even though it was cold, you could taste quality, the main course of a mix. Chow mein was very very good, I think next time we will go in and buy it over the counter instead of ordering it.

Not familiar with the area, staying overnight for family funeral today. Ordered KP chowmein, Duck in plum sauce and Har Kau. Absolutely lovely. Really enjoyed the food, thank you.

Been to loads of chinese’s over the years and this is by far the best one, it never disappoints. Portions are great, everything i’ve had from the menu has tasted amazing and they never get the order wrong! Can’t recommend it enough

Never been to this place the aroma from it is nice must try it but the bus stop is on the other side of the road that's where I get the bus home☺️ I think maps assumes I visited here.

I just got chips from here. Not great. Undercooked and gave me a stomach ache as undercooked potato will do this.

Great food. When I order £34-40 worth of food they give free prawn crackers, free veg spring rolls, free crispy shredded salt and pepper chicken and fortune cookies!!!!

Good Chinese definitely ordering again

We went here as mings next door was closed on a Monday... absolutley disgusting. Foood was greasy...noodles was horrible... duck spring rolls was so sloppy. I didn't enjoy anything . MINGS NEXT DOOR IS 10/10 never had a bad meal yet from there... try next door and see the difference for yourselfs .

Excellent hot food quickly and politely served really good Singapore noodle. Also has an open kitchen which is also a very good sign.

THIS IS THE BEST CHINESE TAKE AWAY IV EVER HAD! The service is perfect always friendly and so welcoming. The food is amazing! The price is so reasonable.. i honestly can not say one bad word about this place.. and the chap on the phone is so lovely... 5 STARS ALL THE WAY... Even my partner love the food and he is a fussy sod... to the staff at original taste pls dont change a thing.. it's so hard to find a good take away

Just Eat’s web site tells you can pay by Visa card etc. This is not true - it is a cash only ‘business’, and the staff were very reluctant to issue a receipt ( having told me there was a cash machine 300 yards down the road, on a terribly wet and cold night, I had to take a walk or leave the food we had ordered over the phone without being told it was an old fashioned business model of cash only).. I really would have been better just leaving the food . All four of us agreed we would not want to eat this again ( vegetarian option- thoughtful though for them to add in our free prawn crackers!!). The food lacked any substance except for greasy sauce/ gravy. The noodles were so greasy! The omelette like rubber and tasted like it! The sweet and sour soup was decent, had veg in it, and some flavour. We paid £28 for 4 courses and three soups. There are plenty of other takeaways in the area. Having been to China, I can honestly say this place presents food that is an insult to that nation.

This is a takeaway we use regularly but it is a pain that you have to get cash out when you go here. They should get a card terminal.

This is an excellent Chinese takeaway. The food is terrific although it is always very busy so you may have to wait awhile but so long as you phone through for an order it is always ready for the time they give you. It is one of the best Chinese take outs there is locally. They are always pleasant and provide a great service and lovely food which is always served fresh and very hot. Ps. They only take cash

Beef curry was absolutely delicious.I highly recommend this meal. I have never tasted a Chinese as good in my life.

We've been ordering from Original Taste for some years. As vegetarians, we find the choice, quality and value to be excellent. Service is always courteous and professional. There is an open kitchen policy, where the food prep area is spotless. Just when we think they couldn't produce a better meal...THEY DO! I can highly recommend them.

I ordered a Chinese from this takeaway for two, I have celiac which means I cannot have wheat and gluten products, I phoned before I ordered and they said that they would make me chicken with cashew nuts.i ordered the food and Del was very quick and the food was absolutely delicious 😋 I will use this takeaway again very polite and you get a lot I recommend this place

Disappointing, was told it was delivered 20mins before it actually arrived. Was told that they had tried to ring me as they couldn't find the house, however no missed calls or anything on my phone. Decent food though

have ordered from here for years and never had a problem before. ordered sweet n sour chicken balls and this arrived separate to the sauce, which is weird but fine, however the sauce was plain, no veg no nothing? it tasted disgusting and was a complete waste of money. restaurant refused to send replacement sauce with veg and stated this is how it comes? no mention of no veg on menu? when ordering a meal you expect a complete meal not a bag of chicken and a tub of plain sauce? if in a restaurant this would have been rectified however ordering in this way they can refuse to change or compensate. bad customer service - will never order from here again!

I struggled for a long time to find a chinese takeaway with high standards, and the original taste is definitley a a super friendly, awesome chinese takeaway with a brilliant and varied menu, and also them high standards that are important to me. They have vegetarian options which is great for my house, literally everything i order is very very tasty and cooked to perfection. The chap who takes the order is a top bloke, and to be fair everybody in there are really nice people, they take an interest in their customers and invest in them. I never get delivery because i live miles away (but worth the drive) but i feel driving to collect makes more sense as i pick it up as soon as its cooked, and i have never been disappointed. Thats in over 2 years! Always amazing food!!!!! Thanks original taste team for being consistently great! Danny

The just eat website stated the food would be ordered for 9.50pm but i placed the order before 7pm then i got an email to state it waa actually 7.50pm just keep website needs to update its game an give correct info other then that good is awaome always is from here! 😊
