Waiting very long time for food .

The munchy box which is £20 is really small compared to other places and mostly contains chips. The prawn crackers were also not crunchy, almost like they were stale! Disappointed

food was actually lovely but tool 2 hours to arrive and they told me twice it was on its way, but it had obviously been freshly cooked 2 hours late when it finally arrived.

Food was late, chips dry and stale and the ribs were burnt. Most went in the bin. Bad meal and waste of money.

I have ordered on three occasions and was very pleased each time. I had: - Sweet and sour chicken and fried rice. - Special curry and fried rice - Special fried rice and fried mushrooms. Each meal was tasty, of good quality and generous sized portions. The sweet and sour chicken pieces were big and juicy with just a thin layer of batter and plenty of sauce that contained all the usual bits and pieces. I ordered at the counter. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I look forward to returning!

Munch box not that great I don't think it's worth nearly £20 and a bit annoying that it's just thrown in a tub mixed up didn't get much chicken was mostly just chips

I have just been helped when my car battery died by Manu the delivery driver for this restaurant. He was so helpful and lovely and genuinely would have been stuck for hours miles from home on a bank holiday. I hope he is recognised for his kind acts. I did offer him some money which he reluctantly only took some of. I hope his kind act didn’t cause any delays to orders. I tried to call but no answer. Thank you again Manu if this reaches you! Great to see such lovely people employed by a local company.

The quality of the food has gone done…right down. At first the food was something special, and now it’s just…meh. Loads of liquid, and the food normal. I hope it improves, but it looks like I’ll be looking round for other places in the area. Pity.

Took very long to arrive, came almost an hour late and food was not hot. Called restaurant for an update as food was showing delivered but didn’t get any food and all they said was food on the way left shop already. I was disappointed because by that time it was already late!

Nearly 2 hours delivery and cold

THIS USED to be a great takeaway, But it has changed hands and is now just dreadful. My wife ended up with chronic indigestion and vomiting and my meal was average at best. My mother has bought from there twice since the changeover and both times the food was awful. This is such a shame as it used to be the best chinese takeaway, I had ever bought from, but not anymore.

The food was stone cold with zero flavour. Tasted like it was sat there for hours. The only thing that was edible was the prawn crackers. Very poor!

Sadly I have to agree with the other reviewers on here about the change of hands and the quality of the food. This was the best Chinese food around, but sadly the food was not good. I contacted the take away about the poor quality of the beef in the beef curry who was very apologised offering another dish. I chose salt and pepper shredded chicken, but sadly this was dry chicken and the outside batter was greasy. Sadly this is an end of an era for the original taste, I defo won’t be back again and it’s time to find a new take away. Very sad indeed….

Been used this take away for years never disappoint me although it’s been waiting for longer than I expected but food was band on.

Clearly a change of ownership during 2023 - what was previously an excellent delivery choice is now uniformly late (last order took nearly 2 hours) and of much poorer quality.

Took 1 hour and 40 minutes to arrive. Stone cold chips on arrival. Much, much worse than a couple of years ago. DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY FROM HERE.

Have been using this Chinese for a few years and it was the best around, last few times I’ve ordered it’s been so bad. Food over cooked and dry. I placed an order tonight to wait 1 hour 40 minutes and it turned up cold so I sent it back. I think I’ll find a different Chinese from now on. The customer service is shocking

Disappointing, cold and bland. We chose original taste because of the good reviews on Google but after we got cold food which arrived 20 minutes late and wasn't tasty, we realised a lot of the reviews were from a while ago and the recent ones are not so good. Red curry was quite watery and had way too many water chestnuts and onions. Ribs were fatty. Soup was average. Fried rice was OK.

Always great food. The starter box for 1 could be a bit more generous on wings or ribs but still all good.

Really disappointed with the box, had 2 ribs , 2 wings , 4 chicken nuggets and a few strips of beef , basically a box of chips. Worst salt and pepper box I’ve had and a waste of money.

Ordered a munch box was not what I expected cheap frozen chips wasn’t even salt and pepper chips all soft and soggy because they’d been sweating in the box! Tiny spring rolls hardly any meat salt and pepper beef just disintegrated could not taste any beef! The munch box had more chips then anything very disappointing

Went here other day food was overall disappointing, chips were soggy and flavourless ! Ordered shredded special and was just chunks of meat with no duck? Nothing shredded about this dish, and this was off the specials so extra money aswell!! Before the new management always went this chinese and was my fave. But now even customer service is just as bad as the food :) Disappointed to say the least.

Had 4 dishes from this takeaway last night. I usually go to Dragon City but its closed until September. Have had meals from here before and been ok in the past. Ordered chicken sechzuan and when arrived home it was a pork dish which we did attempt to eat but wss that hard and chewy wasnt possible. Also ordered thai curry and was mainly sauce. Didnt eat it as the chicken had a jelly around it (must be too Much cornflower added). The other 2 dishes weren’t upto par so in all it was £30 down the drain. Will never go back

Poor quality food. £3.00 for a handful of chips which were over cooked chewy and rubbery as was the beef in the curry. Wouldn't recommend!

⚠️ WARNING ⚠️ 13.08.23 This Takeaway has changed hands. It has a (confirmed) new owner and more importantly a New Chef. He or she cannot cook. The food is absolutely abysmal it has zero taste and our chicken dish was very watery and went in the bin! The beef in black bean sauce has given me a very bad stomach today! We have been using Original Taste for 7 years. Barring a couple of occasions the food has always been excellent. However not anymore. We've had 2 takeaways since under new ownership and both times the food has been very bland and tasteless. I would use caution when ordering from this place now! It's that bad, if I could give it Zero stars I would!!! Sorry for this poor review. I'm only being honest.

45 minutes for food that wasn’t great. Sweet and sour with no peppers or onion in and sauce isn’t nice. Beef was too hard

Waited over a hour after the expected delivery time rang up to be told it’s cooking and will put a few freebies in (starters) and got a bottle of coke for free, I would much rather be told the order will not be ready until the time it came so I could of ordered elsewhere. Food wasn’t very hot and had to micro it. Disappointed as this place is normally my go to. Long wait for something I didn’t enjoy

Shame the food arrived late, starter was cold, even though it was cold, you could taste quality, the main course of a mix. Chow mein was very very good, I think next time we will go in and buy it over the counter instead of ordering it.

Order 830pm 1st time ordering last time too rang at 10pm driver on way 1020pm driver turns up..food cold dry chicken s&p pieces sent chips curry solid chips instead s&p chips slimey noodles! Poor quality & portion size for price! Stale fortune cookies woth no fortune in...sorry won't be coming back! Tried & tasted 3 of still sat here starving choc & crisps it is with the ok prawn crackers!

Not had food from here since late last year. It was always excellent in the past but not tonight. It was an hour late, Luke warm and of poor quality. For £37 it should have been really good. It wasn’t.

Not familiar with the area, staying overnight for family funeral today. Ordered KP chowmein, Duck in plum sauce and Har Kau. Absolutely lovely. Really enjoyed the food, thank you.

Been to loads of chinese’s over the years and this is by far the best one, it never disappoints. Portions are great, everything i’ve had from the menu has tasted amazing and they never get the order wrong! Can’t recommend it enough

Never been to this place the aroma from it is nice must try it but the bus stop is on the other side of the road that's where I get the bus home☺️ I think maps assumes I visited here.

I just got chips from here. Not great. Undercooked and gave me a stomach ache as undercooked potato will do this.

We went here as mings next door was closed on a Monday... absolutley disgusting. Foood was greasy...noodles was horrible... duck spring rolls was so sloppy. I didn't enjoy anything . MINGS NEXT DOOR IS 10/10 never had a bad meal yet from there... try next door and see the difference for yourselfs .

Excellent hot food quickly and politely served really good Singapore noodle. Also has an open kitchen which is also a very good sign.
