Ordered Salt & Pepper Chips with extra chillies and wow, they were amazing, also ordered special fried rice and it was a huge portion, very tasty indeed, will be trying more of their menu soon I hope.

Probably the best Chinese around. I revisited after 7 years as I moved out of the area and it's still just as amazing! Same owners too, always great service!

Ordered beef curry and fried rice plus chefs special in oyster sauce with fried rice was waiting for over half an hour and when my order came all that was done was the chefs special in oyster sauce when I checked it in my car I then went back in and complained about it and they sorted out my beef curry and fried rice I then was going to be charged more so I gave them the chefs special back and walked out

Food is very tasty, staff are efficient but not very smiley but they are always busy and they deliver

The chow meins were really well put together, good portion size, nice fresh ingredients. The chips were not good. Not fresh, frozen chips that have been deep fried. This definitely needs to be changed to fresh deep fried chips. The spring rolls and prawn crackers unfortunately were not crispy, very soggy. Curry sauce was lovely. Arrived late - but overall it was ok!

Beware of their beef dish, I tried 2 times both got me bad stomach issues. I am not sure how long did they store the beef… I used to order from them, and they r quite good, but since they sold the restaurant to another owner recently. Everything just gone wrong.

Avoid at all cost. Food was horrific, if you like salt and MSG then this is the place for you. I’ve had some rum Chinese food in my time but this place hands down beats them all. Looking forward to downing 4 pints of water over the next few hours in the hope my tongue makes a recovery. AVOID

Ordered from Canton for 3/4 years and it was unbelievable would recommend it to everyone however the lovely lady who owned it sold it and over the past 6 months it has slowly but progressively got so bad and all the staff are so rude. Ordered noodle, chicken, chips, crispy seaweed, sweet sour sauce and all of it was bland and stale as f. Do not order from here the food will be terrible and they won’t do anything about it. I rang up just to tell them so hopefully in future it doesn’t happen and they just put the phone down on me.

I’ve ordered from Canton takeaway for years. Lately, the food has gone down hill and isn’t how it use to be at all. It’s stale and bland. Tasted like it was cooked a while a go and re heated before being sent out. The new owner/manager is very rude too. Rang to discuss an order we received and she was quite arrogant and eventually put the phone down on me. Lost two customers tonight who have been coming for years.

The best Chinese takeaway I have ever tried! So affordable, tasty, and every item is full of flavour. It genuinely is the nicest quality & they serve fresh food. I have lived in the area for 20+ years, I have been going here for years! I have tried many other takeaways across Stockport/ Manchester but I always come back to Canton! We order here every week, (sounds crazy) but we love it! It is super affordable for a family of 5, we get many large portions for around £35-£38.00 total. This is the most affordable place! The quality and service is amazing! I would recommend Canton to everyone ! Five stars X

Pretty disappointing, went in the shop,nobody in,only me,asked for rice and chips ,the reply was there's a 30 minute wait,,apparently the lazy gits who won't get of their fat arses,are infront of the queue,,had to click on 1 star as it wouldn't post

We have used this takeaway for the last couple of years, and found it to be the best in the area,having tried the rest. The food is well cooked and tasty, and the lady (who always seems to be there), very pleasant and efficient.The portions are generous. Last night we had a bulk order for 8 people (that I took in the night before,and arranged to collect) I turned up as arranged at 7:30, and it was just ready to go. All food was hot, fresh, and very tasty, my guests couldn’t get over the great portion sizes, and wished they were more local! Thank you Canton for delivering your usual high standard of food.

Food was okay 2 portion of spare ribs 2 chips veg spring rolls meat springs rolls. 29.00 pound very pricey. I won't be returning sorry guys.

Had two deliveries in the last few weeks, having never used them before. The lady taking the orders (I think it was the same lady both times) was extremely knowledgeable of the menu, efficient, friendly and helpful in accomidating my dietary requirements (I'm vegan). We were really impressed by her. The food was absolutely delicious. So impressed. The vegetarian chicken was great as was everything else. Definitely be using them again.

Seriously could not fault this place. Went out of the blue as we was passing through the area the food from here was the best Chinese I’ve ever had in my life. I could not believe it it was completely on point in every department. The portion sizes are colossal and you could feed a horse with it. I’m telling you now head down to this gaff and you won’t be disappointed. P.S the lady was lovely and jolly who gave us our food which topped it off.

Personally I don’t feel the reviews on Google are a true reflection of the quality of the food here. We tried this place for the first time tonight as our usual Chinese is closed on a Monday. After reading the reviews I thought it may be worth the 13 minute drive, however i was left a bit disappointed as based on the reviews I thought the food would be much better. It wasn’t awful but it wasn’t anything special either. Its just a mediocre Chinese at best. If you don’t mind a drive I recommend the new wing wah in reddish. I’ve tried lots of Chinese takeaways in Stockport and up to now the new wing wah is by far the best!

Chicken was so hard to eat the flavor eas minimal and the rice was cold and flavour less tge worst Chinese i have eaten by far dissapointed waste of money

Canton is quite possibly the best take away we have ever come across. The food is outstanding and reasonably price. The service is personable and welcoming and it always brings a smile to our faces. Thank you for looking after us, we will continue to recommend you!

I've consistently found the Canton to be better than any other local Chinese Takeaway I have visited. Having moved from Harrytown to Hyde (and lived in London, Coventry and Leeds) and with Chinese cuisine being a big favourite I have tried many different local takeaways and a good few less local as I'm happy to drive to collect. The Canton is a little more expensive than others locally but quite simply you get what you pay for and with the Canton that's excellent food with good quality ingredients, generous portions and great, friendly service. The Black Pepper Sauce is outstanding (especially with the beef), the Black Bean Sauce likewise and the Udon Noodles are brilliant (I have them with the Char Siu instead of the duck). Maybe a little too much oil in the noodles, but what do I know, I'm not a Chinese chef!

Brilliant, very clean and high standard procedures when it comes to Covid. The food is good quality and the staff are very nice. I've never had to wait when collecting food.

Much better than your average Chinese takeaway. Well flavoured. Generous portions. A bit too much sauce for my tastes but that was only a minor niggle. Be warned, they only take cash.

I made my first visit to Canton last night (meal for one, lockdown and all that...) and ordered my usual Chinese meal - prawn toast to start and chicken chow mein as my, well, main! I ordered for collection and it was ready when I got there. I tend to find that whenever I order the above from anywhere, nowhere gets them both right. If the prawn toast is nice, the chow mein fails, or vice versa. But canton got them both spot on! So in terms of taste, I have no complaints. In terms of price, though, I have one minor issue. And it's not as simple as saying "it was expensive". The portion sizes were huge, which would suggest value for money isn't too bad. But when I order a starter, I expect to be able to have room for my main. So I only managed half of my prawn toast... I also only managed half of my main. So I had half last night and half for dinner today, which is OK, I suppose! But if I only wanted it to last one meal, the portion sizes could be almost halved and the price could therefore have been lower. For the record, it was £12.60 for my meal... and there were no freebies. All that said, I'll definitely go again, especially if I order for more than just myself next time. Almost a perfect take-away. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could.

Cannot fault the food, it's very tasty and fresh, portion size is good, service is polite and friendly, Shop is clean. The only fault with the Canton is the prices. Its very expensive when compared to another, equally nice Chinese takeaway just down the road. Unlike other Chinese takeaways, Canton do not include chips or rice with the meal, so just the addition of chips or rice to your meal will add £2.10 onto the price, other dishes are also very expensive, ribs are £7.30! For example a meal for 2 consisting of 1 x sweet corn soup, 1 x ribs, beef satay and chips, prawn in cashew with egg fried rice will cost you £26.70 while it will cost 22.90 down the road. a single sweet and sour pork with rice is £7.20 at Canton while its £6.30 down the road. This can really add up when feeding a family. We would only go back if the prices were in line with others and chips and rice included in the price.

Tried here for the first time. Had the Thai style beef curry. Beef was excellent and tender however extremely salty and reminiscent of MSG. I hope this wasn't the case but that being said I will try again and maybe ask for clarification next time and less salt!!

I’ve been searching high and wide for a good local chinese and finally found this place. I recommend the crispy shredded chicken in cantonese sauce!

Thought we would give it a go due to the feedback and dissatisfaction with other Chinese takeaways in the area. Service was efficiently done by a cheerful lady. Prices were a bit on the high side but portions were good. Unfortunately my meal was let down by the beef, 3 days later and I am still chewing it. Seriously it was really tough and ruined what was otherwise a nice tasting meal. I may give it another go at some point, although won’t be rushing back and I will make sure I get a chicken dish when I do.

When we get a chinese takeaway this is our first choice. The lady at the front of house always greets you like a long lost friend, And is very chatty and pleasant.We had the cantonese meal for 2. The chicken and sweetcorn soup, was a little gloopy, and could have done with a touch more seasoning,although still good with prawn crackers, Then a piece of prawn toast each which was really good, some kind of ring in a kind of pastry which was okay, fish sticks in a slightly dryish batter, lovely crispy seaweed. Pork ribs in a ok sauce, loads of meat and very tasty. Main courses of king prawns in black bean sauce, which was delicious, lovely steak in cantonese sauce all with special fried rice. A great meal.

It's the first time we've been to the Canton, but can honestly say it's the best Chinese takeaway we've ever had (and we've had a few!). Would ceratainly recommend the syngapore noodles and the chicken sweet and sour. Will certainly be going to the Canton again.

Never been here before but what a wonderful place! Friendly, helpful staff. Very quick service and delicious food. I was very impressed with their attention to detail, particularly food allergies. Their comprehensive menu has clear reminders about possible allergy foods. I overheard someone who had rung through with an order being asked if they had any food allergies - never known that from a take-away before! Well done Canton! Will definitely order from them again when I'm in the area.

We ordered our meal, we went to pick up our food. They only accept cash ar this place.I had beef in oyster sauce, with chinese vegetables, full of flavour veg and beef. We also had chicken and cashew nuts, also very flavourful full of meat and veg. Ordered a starter of seasame prawn toasts, full of prawn mixture and very tasty.A great friendly chinese takeaway with a big menu, and wide choice of dishes.

I have been going to this Chinese takeaway for a number of years and I can honestly say that you will not get a better takeaway anywhere else. Fantastic food, fantastic service and great value for money.

Such a friendly and well-informed group of people who make many, many delicious dishes. My favourite is Tofu, with green peppers and black bean sauce with vegetable rice. Yum.

Staying nearby and had food delivered from Canton. It was really tasty! I ordered the hot and sour soup and the hot crispy shredded chili chicken with egg fried rice. The heat was perfect! The portion size was perfect! It might be worth another trip to the UK to eat from this carry out/ delivery!!!

Myself and my Dad visited here on a Sunday evening after deciding we couldn't be bothered cooking. We read the reviews on here and felt confident we would enjoy it. We ordered; Honey Barbeque Spare Ribs, Quarter crispy duck pancakes and sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice. Everything was very tasty that much so we couldn't finish it all! I'm sure I will enjoy it for lunch today! The staff were very friendly and the service was efficient. Thumbs up from me!

Canton make great food and the people who run it are extremely friendly and helpful. If you're a regular your name is never forgotten. They gave us a wonderful birthday dinner for our son with a birthday card from the takeaway thrown in. Great service.

A Saturday night treat. Phoned for a takeaway on a very busy Saturday night. Marple had just had the food and drinks festival so we decided to try somewhere different. What a great choice. The delivery arrived within the hour as planned. The lady who delivered was very presentable and read back what we had orderd. She was very pleasant and had a wonderful manner about her. The food was delicious and hot. The aromatic duck was the best we have had, be it takeaway or restaurant. This was the first time we had used this takeaway we will most certainly use it again and recommend it to our friends and family Well done looking forward to crispy duck very soon

This is probably the best Chinese take away I have been to and honestly I have been to a lot. It is served very quickly and it is very enjoyable for people to eat. I would highly recommend this place to anybody.

Had a meal from this Chinese , as our usual take away was closed. Have to say it was ok but nothing special. The Golden Phoenix in bredbury is by far nicer.

Everyone who works there is brilliant. They are honest about delivery times. Food is never greasy or overly salted/sugared e.g. crispy seaweed/noodles. Separate menus for Gluten free/Slimming world sins and Weightwatchers points are on the counter.

This is one of the best takeaways for miles around, a large and varied menu, very pleasant and helpful staff, dishes from all over China and Thailand,good selection of fish dishes, including scallops, squid, King Prawn and Fish dishes, so much variety, loads more than a standard chinese, lovely friendly staff, cannot recommend this place enough.
