Ordered food for delivery for the first time and on recommendation from friends. Sadly our experience wasn’t a good one. We ordered pork with honey sauce which didn’t have the slightest taste of honey and came with pineapple and a watery offering of sauce. The pork was overcooked and dry. The duck and plum sauce didn’t have the slightest bit of colour or hint of plum sauce although the duck was very tender. A good chicken chow mein and reasonable rice but we probably wouldn’t order from here again. Quite pricey for what we had

Great service, tasty food, good value

We had a table for two booked for my birthday as a treat, having not been to Trongs for about 8 years. We would be inclined to agree with a recent review about the food being amazing but the experience was not quite 5 stars due to aspects of the service. We had a time limit on our table, which was communicated in advance, but the table was not ready when we arrived, so we had menus to view whilst we waited. Ordering drinks and food was a little all over the place and the experience did feel quite rushed too. The food was exceptional though and we enjoyed our meal very much, which is why it is such a popular, in-demand place to dine in.

Great food, great service, good central location

Food and service is beyond excellent and has remained that way all the years we have used it for our irregular meals out!! Last visit was yesterday evening 21 March 2025, when I personally received such kindness due to immobility and having forgot to bring my walking stick‼️ From moving our booked table to a one much nearer to the food containers, Giving me an arm to steady me to it, taking my chosen plate of food to the table and making sure we were given special attention by the lovely waiters. All of which made a special night out with my Daughter in Law even more special. Thank you all.

Lovely place, Friday evening it was busy but nothing too much trouble, very friendly staff will def go again. The food was excellent and cooked to order.

I remembered coming here before covid isolation and it was an okay experience then, okay experience now. all that changed was the price was raised but not the quality of service/food/atmosphere? Staff seemed very unhappy, got a lot of passive aggression from what i assumed was the manager for no apparent reason. she tried to move us to a bigger six seat table quite persistently but there was only 3 of us? got alot of evil eyes after that interaction. some waiters were nice but little to no service after being seated. had to figure out the whole drink ordeal - wasnt really explained that it was not included in buffet and that we had to ask for glasses ourselves. i understand time constraints in buffets but felt a bit rushed as the manager quite bluntly told us we had only an hour at our table while hovering a bit. as for the food , there wasnt a lot of variety. i remembered there being more to choose from. however the sweet and sour chicken did not disappoint- exactly how i remembered it, super delish. ive seen some others comment on the proximity of the tables and i have to agree, it was like politeness jenga trying to squeeze my way past other people and trying to let others go past but no you go first please i insist. especially considering how many empty booths there were on the sides, it doesnt make sense to pack us all in like sardines. overall , probably wont go again as it cost £70 ish for 3 adults and that just doesnt seem worth the money. id rather save my money and go takayama for a quality meal.

I recently moved , soo used to my "old" take away... which we loved ..UNTIL WE ORDERED here....(Wife and daughter happy), great taste, and great service...food amazing.. Helio Santos

Wrong items sent, and food was incredibly overpriced and tasted awful. Haven’t been able to finish anything but the soggy chips. The chicken chow mein especially tasted foul.

I'm allergic to shellfish. After three bites of my non-shellfish order, I had an allergic reaction. It's fairly safe to say that this restaurant cross contaminates utensils, and probably uses the same wok for shellfish, nuts, soy etc as they do for everything else. AVOID if you have any sort of food allergy. My allergy is fairly mild, but it could have been MUCH worse for someone else.
